Market 42 is underrated and has so much potential. The biggest issue right now is it seems to be hit or miss with regards to when each business is open. There are days and times when it is not crowded at all, hence why some of the businesses close up shop. But it makes it inconvenient for customers who sometimes just have to gamble that the place they want to visit is open. All of that being said, I still enjoy Market 42. The businesses are all small and local, no large chains. They have a variety of food options, coffee, ice cream, and a bar. It is not overly crowded, so it's a great spot to catch on work or spend time with friends in a newer, clean building. Goldberry Coffee apparently just closed, so that is a big loss in my opinion. Now I'll have to find a new stop for my coffee here. Any suggestions? Give Market 42 a shot. It's a cool place that if things start to iron out, could become a hot spot in Brunswick. read more

Market 42 is cute... but it feels like it's one really good decorating spree away from being really cute. The concept is there, and the shops are worth browsing, but the atmosphere is a little odd when you first walk in. It's hard to put my finger on it, it just feels like the building is still waiting for its personality to arrive. That said, I genuinely like the selection of stores, and the coffee shop alone gives me a reason to stop by. It's definitely worth checking out just don't be surprised if the vibe feels a little more "almost there" than "nailed it." read more

Don't go on Monday. I made the mistake of patronizing on a Monday, not knowing that 75% of the businesses are not open. Wow, this might be OK on a normal basis... Today is December 22, I found myself surrounded by fellow shoppers who were appalled that these small businesses were not taking advantage of the last-minute Christmas shopping crowd. On Mondays half the place is closed. The front seats have a draft so we had to move tables. Not a lot of customers so we had many tables to chose from. The tables were filled with crumbs and I didn't see anyone cleaning them so don't know if they are cleaned. Its nice for a large group or family cause everyone can get what they want, but it's not that great on a Monday. read more

I ate at Ramen, Sushi, and Boba Tea at 12:20 on Saturday. Not busy at all. Waited 10 minutes for preparation. They give you a pager so you can walk around while waiting. They packaged it to go, although I told them I'd eat there. It was $14 for the pork ramen bowl. Very large bowl, lots of noodles and veggies. Broth was excellent. The pork had a lot of fat on it. Not many pieces of pork, but I couldn't eat 3 strips at all. Won't be back. read more

This place is a great idea. I've said it before it's a perfect place to invite a group of people. Everyone can eat from their favorite food booth / restaurant and meet you in the dining area. There is also a bar area for anyone who just might want to meet for a cocktail, Beer and not eat. I gave the place an overall 4 stars due to the fact that not all places were open. Example there was a restaurant that touted a Taco Tuesday special (it was Tuesday) and they were closed. Maybe it was a slow day for them, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

Very drafty. It's a nice place but most places were closed. We had to change tables because there is a bad draft and I got a chill. The door my the handicap parking was locked and moving around in my wheelchair was not the easiest there. It's basically a food court. They have a variety to choose from Mexican, pizza, Ramen, baked goods, coffee, etc. McGinty's Pub is also there. There are also a couple of small shops that offer goods that are locally made. There is outside and indoor seating. Plenty of parking. It's a nice place, there's something for everyone. read more

Market 42 is a really fun concept with options for everybody. It is a spacious, well-organized building with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. There were several little shops that had items such as plants, farmers market goods, cups/glassware and other handmade goods. There were many food options and I like that everybody can get whatever they want to eat and still sit together. I went with the Indian option and did the build your own bowl with tofu and tikka masala, which was very tasty. I came during a Monday at lunch and it was not very crowded. My food came out in about 10 minutes. Other options included burgers, Mexican, ramen bowls, hibachi, ice cream, crepes, coffee and pasta. I definitely would like to return to try out some of the other options! read more

Once the stores opened, I've noticed an influx of people, which limited the spots in the lot. By the time we left at 12:45 pm on a Saturday, I saw cars circling the lot for a spot. An amazing new business that just opened up in Brunswick, Ohio! Right now, it's a ginormous food court with all kinds of food types! Asian, Italian, Indian, and Hispanic are just some of the food options here. There is also a giant bar to serve up adult beverages to thirsty shoppers. Currently, there are 5-6 stores which sell crafted goods but more are supposedly on the way! Farmers markets will also be held here eventually as well as live music events! Definitely worth checking out. The inside is spacious with tons of seating. read more

Market 42 is a great local place to get a bite to eat or have a drink. It is like an upscale food court with a wide variety of higher end food, beverages and ice cream offerings. They also have an artisan Bread bakery as well as a bakery of sweets (cookies...) It is NOT like the West Side Market. Our first venture was Mallory's Pizza which is excellent! Walk up service to a variety of food options. This place reminds me of food courts in the bigger cities. We had the pizza and some tacos from two shops - both pretty good. The seating area was pretty busy for early on a Friday afternoon, so I'd imagine this place can get really busy at night. Huge bar and out side seating options look to be available. read more

Good experience overall. They had a few small shops and a variety of food vendors, Local West and Mallory's Pizza were our favorites. Mallory's has pizza by the slice ready- a good solid slice. Local West had large portions and homemade fries and tasty sandwiches. The street tacos were ok salsa was missing . Would like to see more shop vendor variety but all in all is a good busy place to come and try something new. They have a McGintys bar but there was no one there for the hour we were there. We bought some cute small plants from Gift Mill Run and bread from Atticus bread- the bread samples were great to have so you know what you are getting. read more

No signage when approaching from the north, parking is tight. Many food vendors but no types that you can't find elsewhere for better prices. Difficult to read the menu and price boards. Market 42 is a great concept with lofty expectations.Would be a great venue for gathering people to dine, drink and be entertained (if/when). Our experience there and review is less than flattering. At our afternoon visit for lunch, many of the establishments were not yet open, perhaps due to the facility being only open one week. There are expectations to be met. The food should be good; utensils, napkins, plates stocked and available, coffee creamer fresh. Staff should be trained, pleasant, motivated and competent. Price point should provide value given for valued received. Lack thereof may sustain customers for a visit or two and eventually disappear. And all were lacking. Frankly, $14 for menu items served in styrofoam, lacking self serve plastic utensils via a disintersted staff and the gall to present a tab requesting a Tip does not leave a pleasant aftertaste. As a counterpoint, One of our favorite lunch venues (great decor) offers sit down meals at a table with real linens, Metal utensils, a pleasant and friendly server, Salad, Warm Bread, Ice Water with great entrees all priced from $15. I would like to see the vendors and Market 42 prosper, but they have some homework to do. read more

Well maybe i expected different I thought it would be more of a market (think west side market) with more cultural foods like Greek and others that are hard to find in brunswick. it reminds me of a mall food court i guess good for kids. My husband and I were there on a Thursday in late September about 1:00. There was barely anyone there. Since it was our first visit, we ambled around for a bit considering our options for lunch. It was rather awkward as the vendors were standing around with nothing to do and just looking at us while we read the menu boards and tried to check out the food. We settled on Local West primarily because it was the easiest choice. Our sandwiches were good and the french fries were very good; I'd give this vendor 4*. The few small shops weren't unique or different; but, again, I didn't linger long because the shop keeper was just watching us the whole time with nothing else to do. The outdoor fall landscaping was very nice. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd return to Local West and probably try a few of the other food offerings but since there was nothing else in the neighborhood, I don't see any reason to make it a destination; there was nothing that I don't have closer to home and at least as good. It's probably a nice addition for the local community. read more
