I've been to five different dentist offices here in Edmonton, each one had its pros and cons but…read moreuniversity Dental was by far the best. Each time I have been the staff have been very friendly and kind. They answer all the questions I have about the process they will be doing on my teeth. The location is in a great spot and the building is very clean and kept proper. The only complaint I would have is that I had to sit for quite awhile in the waiting room before my apointment. Dr Fedoretz was very kind though and made great conversation while I was getting my dental work done. Overall super happy with university dental. I will continue to go here and get my teeth work done

I can't say enough great things about this dental office…read more Before I even went there, the receptionist over the phone was incredibly helpful and informative. She organized all of my insurance coverage, even calling them to get more information. I thought I had just got her on a good day. Nope! When I went in for my appt she was there and was just as awesome as well as all the wonderful ladies behind the desk. Not to mention they have the newest and coolest massage chair I've ever been in! So that gives them a 5 start just for that! Once all the insurance was cleared up and I went in for my appt it continued to be extremely enjoyable and fun. The doctor is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He makes sure you understands everything. Not only is the doctor so smart and great but Lori my hygenist was equally as amazing. I have bad anxiety about pain and they did absolutely everything I could have asked for to keep the experience as enjoyable as possible. This is absolutely my neq dental office from now on and my husband and I will also be taking out children there because it is just that great!! So happy I found them!

I had a root canal done at this office, and it was handled so poorly that it caused years of…read moreongoing health issues. After the procedure, I kept going back because something clearly wasn't right. Instead of addressing the problem, they repeatedly prescribed antibiotics and insisted nothing was wrong. Over time, I saw multiple dentists trying to get answers, but no one wanted to take responsibility or properly investigate. (created a ton of fear) I was essentially passed from one office to another with no resolution. Nearly nine years later, I finally found a dentist who took my concerns seriously and referred me to an endodontist. The specialist confirmed that the original root canal had failed they missed a canal. It had been overfilled, which caused a pocket in my jaw that repeatedly became infected. For years, I was dealing with chronic infections, with my mouth flaring up every month or so, and no one acknowledging the real cause. The dentist who performed the procedure claimed to be a specialist, but based on the outcome, the quality of work was unacceptable. This wasn't just a minor issue--it led to long-term damage and significant health complications. I've dealt with chronic inflammation, recurring infections, and even hospital visits due to blood infections that were never properly traced back to the source at the time. I paid for professional care and trusted this office, and after 4 hours in a chair and thousands later in return, I was left dealing with the consequences of a failed procedure that no one would take responsibility for. It took nearly a decade to finally get a clear diagnosis and validation of what I had been experiencing the entire time.(keep in mind I couldn't live on antibiotics either so no medication to heal it or prevent infection or I'd end up immune to them if I did) I would strongly caution others to seek second opinions and ensure they are getting proper care, because my experience here resulted in years of unnecessary pain and avoidable health issues. Also fun fact for anybody getting work done anywhere, did you know your body suffering with constant inflammation and infection, like from failed dental work, ya it could cause blood sugar issues.... The more you know.

Our appointment was scheduled for 10:00 a.m., but the doctor didn't see us until almost 10:30. When the doctor finally came, he only looked at my son's teeth for less than a minute and simply said that the teeth were too crooked to fix. That was it -- there are nothing to do. What's worse, they still charged us around $140 for basically doing nothing. I understand consultation fees, but this felt completely unreasonable and unprofessional. We left with no useful information at all. Very disappointing experience -- I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

I barely Yelp anymore, but I recently had an amazing experience at Westmount Dental and wanted to…read moretell folks about it. After not seeing a dentist for like at LEAST two and a half years when I still lived in Calgary (and only because it was kind of an emergency), I decided it was high time to take advantage of my benefits plan and book a cleaning somewhere. Thanks to some good online reviews, I found this little gem of a practice. I checked in for my cleaning, and left my info for benefits with the front staff who took care of everything for me. My appointment started promptly. I let my hygienist (Ana?) know it had been awhile and was not made to feel guilty or anything for going too long between cleanings. She was friendly, very knowledgeable, and verbalized most steps of the cleaning as I am SUPER FREAKED OUT BY TEETH THEY'RE SO WEIRD YOU GUYS. Anyways, she advised that I see a dentist soon for a full checkup & for a filling on a cracked tooth. I reentered the front office, expecting to make an appointment somewhere in the near future, but one of their dentists, Dr. Chiang had a cancellation and they were able to fit me in ON THE SPOT. Dr. Chiang was thorough & awesome. Two hours from start to finish, I left with clean teeth, the peace of mind of having a full dental exam, and TWO FILLINGS. I also had a very frozen mouth and was very embarrassed and none of the staff laughed at me even once as we finished the transaction. I loved how friendly this office was, and I LOVED that they handled direct billing for both of my coverage plans (Great West Life, and Blue Cross). Going to the dentist is one of those adulting things that really stresses me out, and I really did feel at ease. Would recommend! :)

I was a patient at this clinic for approximately 25 years and trusted them with my family's dental…read morecare. Unfortunately, my recent experiences changed that. After my longtime dentist moved away, I was unhappy with the quality of some of the dental work I received. Some fillings felt rough and made flossing difficult. I also had a cavity that was not treated, and it later became painful enough that I needed antibiotics. My current dentist told me she did not know why it hadn't been filled sooner and that treating it earlier likely would have been easier on the tooth. I also felt pressured into having a tooth extracted without fully understanding all of my options at the time. Looking back, I wish I had sought a second opinion. When I brought my concerns to the clinic, I felt they were quickly defended rather than fully listened to. That was especially disappointing after being a loyal patient for so many years. The office itself was clean, and the staff were generally courteous. However, trust is very important to me when it comes to dental care, and unfortunately I no longer feel confident continuing treatment there. For that reason, my family and I have decided to seek care elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I was calling right before spring break, so I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get in... but they also put me on the cancellation list and I was able to get in a little sooner than expected. I love everything about this office. The front end staff are incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is really warm and welcoming. I love the water feature in the waiting room... it's very calming. Sadly for me, it has been a couple of years since I've been to the dentist. After a bad experience with the last office, I just couldn't bring myself to go. Neither the dentist or the hygienist made me feel bad for not going in. In fact, the hygienist (who was very careful to remain professional and not bad mouth another dentist office) said she can actually understand why I was hesitant to go back. Anyway... all the staff were very respectful and made me genuinely want to go back to the dentist. The hygienist (Jodi - she's lovely) froze my mouth for the cleaning because I had a major amount of sensitivity and was having a hard time with the pain. She also split it up into two visits so it wasn't so daunting all at once. It was a great experience, and I'll be back!
