They handle all the claims and time the visits expertly with a smile and great attention to detail. I have a lot of stories to tell about this place -- how my husband's terror of dentistry has been hugely diminished, for instance -- or how friendly everyone has been to our son as he's grown up. I consider it a job well done that at 22, he books appointments for every six months and has zero apprehension about having anything done. This is an attitude that will serve him well his whole life, and it doesn't develop without a lot of pleasant dental visits. I often find myself wishing that the way this office handles patients were what we could expect in all other health care encounters; if it were, we'd have much better population health. This practice also buys equipment that enables them to make dental prosthetics like bruxism splints, which means you can purchase them directly at lower cost. After grinding through several of the softer splints, I purchased an acrylic splint that has served me for several years now. Special props to Helen the hygienist, who is so gentle and kind that I literally envy her children for having her as a parent. And also of course to Dr. Carlos Patrickson, who started this practice and served as an Army dentist before marrying and raising a large family. You can trust him and all the staff with everything from cleanings and checkups to complex procedures and surgeries. Go to Cloud Nine... you have nothing to lose but your fear!

It seems there was some confusion regarding this matter I had heard from the reception desk it was covered as well others within the office had heard this , but to my surprise I was sent a bill and when I called I was told this work was not covered because it was coded as cosmetic not necessary . Well the filling was 40 years old and certainly gave me some troubles otherwise I would not be in the dental chair, now a more experienced dentist would have realized this and the coding would have been different but not so in this case. Now after much discussion with a variety of individuals other dentist included , I felt that a fair solution to this would be to share the cost , this seems to be a solution that has a good outcome for all and was recommended by others. But much to my dismay Dr Carlos refused that solution as a result I feel he is not interested in any long term patients but is only after following financial rewards, this philosophy is not one that instills confidence especially in any health service profession

I've gone to Albany Dental for years before this & loved the level of service, BUT this past month…read morethey flushed that all down the drain. I went in for a night guard at the end of Aug. 1 nightguard. It took until the end of Sept and 6 appointments for them to get it right. They blamed it on the company that makes the guards & they blamed it on miscommunication. Yet, in the middle of covid they had me come back 4 more times than I should've had to. First it didn't fit, then they'd done the wrong impressions & needed more new ones, then they had the wrong one made (I only needed one for my lower jaw yet they made one for the upper for some reason). It was like the case that never ends. Then, when they had the upper nightguard instead of the lower, Dr. Nanji came in to "apologize". Not a great apology to say that the $5 Starbucks gift cards I had been getting since after the first screwup/second appointment were "the least I can do" but that she hoped I could forgive them & continue coming back. And maybe I would have if this story ended here. While she's apologizing, she tells me that she'll work with the office manager to give me some money back on the nightguard, which would go back into my benefits. The trouble with that was that I no longer had access to my benefits, not since just before the 4th appointment. She did not believe me and was quite condescending as she asked me why I didn't. You have screwed up something that should've only taken 2 appointments/just over a week according to what I was told in the initial appointment, how dare you treat me like I'm lying. Then, I leave the office with an appointment to come back the next week and multiple promises that it would finally be the one when I would finally have a nightguard. I get a call from the office manager, Linda, a few hours later. She tells me that my stuff will go through her now, that she's very sorry it took this many appointments, etc. She then tells me she'll give me $150 office credit AND $100 gift card of my choice. I confirmed with her that I would be getting BOTH office credit AND a gift card, to which she said yes and RECONFIRMED. The 6th appointment did end with me FINALLY having a nightguard (the correct one & it fit!). As I left the office, I checked with the ladies up front for my compensation as promised by Linda only to be informed that no one had told them about any gift card but that there was $150 office credit on my file. The ladies at the front desk tell me that they'll have Linda call me to sort it out since everything goes through her now. A few hours later, she calls me. On an unknown number. Why would I answer an unknown number, when we live in the age of spam/robo calls? She then has the audacity to try to gaslight me about our previous phone call by telling me that what she had offered was the office credit OR the gift cards. That there must have been some miscommunication. This whole situation is one "miscommunication" after another, you'd think they'd learn after the first couple times. After this whole situation going on for more than a month, she made it worse by trying to trick me about what I know I remember & what she confirmed with me. She tried to twist it as me telling her that I didn't want a gift card because it would be of no use to me (uhm in what world would a gift card of my choice not be useful). At this point I was absolutely done with the whole thing. I told her that I would much rather have a gift card, to which she agreed - and I did actually get it! As stated above, I might have forgiven them & come back if it wasn't for the continued bad treatment. Then the only thing that I would be coming back for was to use the credit they had given. Now, after all of this, after Linda tried to gaslight me, I don't ever want to go back. Their treatment of me this past month was ridiculous & their half-baked apologies continued to make it worse. Thank you, Albany Dental, for wasting my time and for putting me & everyone I interacted with more at risk for covid.

Her space is clean, well laid out and has all the same luxuries that Dr Scarsellone has, TV on the ceiling, hi-tech equipment and inviting space. I love coming to the dentist as it's the only place I get to watch trashy TV. It's great to know I'm in good hands here and my family are too.

My entire family now sees him and thinks very highly of him. I had the normal teeth issues- cavities, root canals and crowns and from day one he was truly kind and caring. Very sensitive to if you are in any pain and what is most comfortable for you. Genuine man. He will give you the options for what is available to you and for your problem. the pros and cons and a rough price estimate and most importantly not rush you to make any decision in the moment. I personally had to have quit a bit of work done and he was patient with me and made me very comfortable just taking care of one thing at a time. Another bit of information- My brother was the same, not keen on going to the dentist, had horrible horrible pain and finally he looked like a chipmunk- his infections were SOOO BAD- he made an appointment to see Dr. Scarsellone and never looked back...It was actually scary for awhile because his infection was so bad, he had to go to the hospital for IV antibiotics for a week 3 times a day because regular pills would not help. His gum line was swollen over his actual teeth...but put into the hands of Dr. Scarsellone he was taken care of patiently. Dr. Scarsellone took it one step at a time and made sure he got better and his teeth back under control. My brother now raves about him!!! Most people ask how the dental hygienists are...Again not my favourite thing to do- but I do go and they are very good as well. Sharon has been super to me. The receptionist is wicked- will help you make sure your work and appointments are spaced out correctly so that you can maximize your benefits. I can't say enough about the staff in this office and especially Dr. Scarsellone. Way to go Terrace Heights Dental.

I had two sinus osseous-autografts done by Gateway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery on June 28, 2017,…read morefollowed by three implants done on Oct 24, 2017. Gateway Oral installed a 6 mm. implant on tooth 16 and installed two 8 mm. implants on teeth 24 & 26. Since then I have had two of those implants come loose and had to be removed. Gateway Oral installed one implant after the two coming loose, and it as well came loose. On Dec. 10, 2018 Dr. Mather installed another implant on tooth 16. On June 20, 2020 tooth #24 was looked at by Dr. Mather and it was loose. So far I have had three implants come loose out of the four Gateway Oral have done. Dr. Mather had told me how much the fifth implant was going to be when he pulled out the fourth implant. One week later his office sent me a notice via email of how much it would be to install a fifth implant. I did not need to be told twice in a week how much they wanted to get from me if I was to get another implant from their company. I think this was very uncaring. . I paid a professional periodontist on Aug. 26/2020 to take a scan of all my teeth to try find out what could have caused the implants to fail as no one wants to take responsibility for the failure of the implants. The periodontist wondered why Gateway Oral had not used longer implants as there was enough space for longer implants as I had, had the sinus osseous-autografts done. My dentist, had recommended Dr. Mather for the implants. I would have thought that the two doctors would have worked together to make sure my implants were successful. I talked to Dr. Mather after the three implants coming loose. He stated that he only installs 6 mm. and 8 mm.implants. I told him I have had eight implants installed, and his three were the only ones to come loose. I know my dentist used the articulating paper on all my teeth after installing the new crowns on all four implant s. Dr. Mather stated that it was my dentist's fault, stating something about the crowns not being down far enough. Since than I have had my dentist install a 10 mm. implant on tooth 16 and a 12 mm. implant on tooth 24. I have not had any problems with either implant since being installed. When they were installing the last implant again on tooth #24, the x-ray they took showed there had been a drill bit from a root canal that had broken off from doing a root canal. It had been in there for at least 10-15 years. I am surprised that Dr.Mather had not seen this on his x-ray or figured it did not matter enough to remove it before installing the implant. I think the quality of work that Dr. Mather does is rushed as he did all three implants in about two hours. My dentist installed a 10 mm. implant where Dr. Mather installed a 6 mm., and a 12 mm. implant where Dr. Mather installed an 8 mm. My question is why did he need to do two sinus osseous-autografts if he was not going to use longer implants. I have had to deal with the pain of having my implants coming loose, being removed and getting new implants installed over the course of the last four years. I have had to go to dentist offices more than my fair share during covid. A person should not have to deal with this kind of pain, suffering, and mental anguish for over four years. After my meeting with Doctor Mather I found him very arrogant and he seemed to believe that he can do no wrong. I would not recommend Gateway Oral for any implants.
