I give JR and his company a perfect 10, no need to call anyone else, they will provide an excellent result for you and your home...Thanks Nokomis Roofing!!! Julie J/Edina

Everyone remembers the hail storm that happened in Minneapolis in August of 2023 . I had several…read moreroofing contractors knock on my door and tell me that I had damaged to my downspouts and to my roof from that hail storm. With a price tag that would make your gramma blush, and then to find out my insurance company said "no dice" I didn't have the roof replaced . I contacted JR with Nokomis Roofing in my local neighborhood .to get his opinion, i dont know him, he is a roofer in 55406 area. JR came and surveyed my roof and reviewed the pictures that I was given by the other roofing contractors. JR stated unequivocally that the insurance company was right your roof is just fine you do not need it replaced . I will be forever grateful to have found someone who is actually going to give me the honest answer without charging me and without doing a job that didn't need to be done . When my shingles start flying off my roof , which i hope never happens, I will definitely be giving JR with Nokomis Roofing a call. Clearly he is a man with integrity and proud of the work he does. He has been in business for 30 years and being the only person who gave up their cut of the money to give me the real story in my humble opinion, you couldn't go wrong by hiring him. I would recommend him in a heartbeat after my experience with him today . Honest contractors don't come along every day.

My parents had decided to sell their house in August to downsize to something that requires less…read moremaintenance. I've worked in real estate for several years so they asked me to help them with getting the house ready to sell. The cedar shake roof needed some repairs so I called a few contractors for estimates and met them at the house when I was home visiting my parents. Harry came over and we discussed what needed to be done for repairs and maintenance and he outbid the other contractors by a long shot. He showed me what they can do to repair the cedar shakes to make everything look newer and ready for the sale of the house. They gave it a good cleaning and put a coating of treatment on the roof to seal it which is a great selling point to new homebuyers - a roof is expensive so most homebuyers always inspect the roof and see how much time they have until a new one is needed. Harry and his crew did a great job. My parents were very happy when their house was sold within a month. The realtor mentioned that the touch ups I recommended to my parents were a major factor, but I really should give Harry and his crew the credit that's well deserved. Thanks again everyone!

Harry repaired our cedar shake roof. He'd been recommended to us by neighbors whose cedar shake…read moreroof he had beautifully repaired. We couldn't be happier. He was very easy and pleasant to deal with. He'd either pick up the phone or call us right back. He was able to come and do the work within a few days. On the appointed day he was here right on time. The quality of his work is excellent. We had frankly anticipated that the work might cost considerably more than the $4900 he charged us (with a three-year warranty). I highly recommend Harry Gorman. It's been a pleasure doing business with him.

I highly recommend everyone stay away from TCR. TL;DR several roofing installation mistakes made,…read moresevere lack of communication from TCR throughout the entire process, and I was asked to write a review before work even began - red flag. After getting roof replacement quotes from 5 different companies, I decided to go with the second to cheapest option - which was Twin City Roofing. And of course, I got what I paid for. The problems began after I signed the quote and handed over the deposit check. I live next to a day care and young children play outside all of the time. Paul, the project manager that was working with me, suggested they perform all of the work on the 4th of July week since kids likely wouldn't be at the day care then. I arranged with my neighbor to not have kids there that week. A few weeks go by and I didn't hear from Paul or anyone else at TCR. The Friday before the 4th of July week, I reached out to Paul to find out when they would be coming and he said "Next week I believe". Then on Monday when no one arrived, I reached out to Paul again. He responded by saying he was on vacation and that Robert P. in the production office could help. I reached out to Robert and he said "I can tell you it won't be this week." Obviously I was unhappy that the roof wasn't going to be replaced that week but I was more upset with the lack of communication throughout the process. It should not be on the client to have to contact the company multiple times to try to get answers. Nonetheless, when the roofers came to replace the roof on my house, garage and shed, they came unannounced. The concerning issues came from work on the roofs. The shingles on the ridge of my shed transitioned from shingles that are meant to be put on ridges to what look like starter shingles. It is very obvious this is not correct. And on my garage, there is a full 15" of a starter shingle that is literally just hanging from the edge of my roof. How did this get missed?? And the biggest issue is with the flat roofs on my house. I asked all of the appropriate questions to Paul from the outset to make sure that there would be grading on the flat roofs such that all of the water would flow to the spout and drain. Alas, a few days after the work was complete, we got our first rain storm and I saw water pooling along the edges of the flat roof and heavy pooling in one corner. I contacted TCR on July 14th and sent pictures of all of these issues. I didn't get a response so I sent a second email on 7/20. I finally got a response from Tyler and he asked me when would be a good time the following day for him to check out my issues. I responded with a time in the morning. I then didn't hear back from him and he did not show up the next day. I was later contacted by Robert and he said he was working on a game plan on getting my issues addressed. Five days later (7/26), he sent another email saying he would have a game plan the following day and he would let me know. As you can imagine, I did not hear from him on 7/27. I emailed Robert again on 7/28 with no response. Finally on 8/9, Tyler came out to my house to take pictures of my concerns. He agreed that all of them need to be addressed. He said he would let me know soon what the next steps would be. I have not heard from him since. I emailed Robert on 8/16 telling him Tyler came out to my house and that I was looking for more information when the fixes can occur. I have not heard from TCR since - at all. I should have known from the get go something was off because after I gave Paul the deposit check, he asked me to write a good review of his efforts to boost the company. I was certainly not going to write a review for services that had not yet begun. If you do go with TCR, make sure to pay as little as possible up front so they have to come back and fix issues before they get their full payment.

This company is so disorganized and is losing employees. I was assigned three different project…read moremanagers and never received any information about how a phase of the project went. The crews showed up without warning three times, which is dangerous and disruptive for my tenants. They attached my gutters to rotten wood that was supposed to be replaced and left the gutter guards with space so debris can get in. I have never felt so helpless and trapped in a contract with a company that does not communicate about what is to come, what has happened, and what will be. I am not certain or confident that the work has been finished and finished well. They really broke my trust. The stress, anger, and fear that I have felt for the past six months cold never be worth the price.
