We went to this brewery as part of a Mini Cooper club brewery-run/day trip. Our expectations were completely blown out of the water! The food is SOOOO GOOD! This was the best fish and chips I've had in a long time, and the ribeye sandwich was also really, REALLY good. There is a wide selection of beers to choose from, with a couple of really interesting additions. We shared a couple flights and were especially happy with the Kolsch, the Irish Red, and the Sweet Porter. Our group was welcomed with smiling faces, they checked in on us often to see if we needed anything at all, and we thoroughly enjoyed the spotless and modern, yet warm, space. This is a great addition to the northern neck especially in Montross. We always used to stop at the Montross brewery to grab drinks and sometimes dinner before we head to our vacation home. After the Montross brewery was closed we hardly stopped in Montross. Recently we discovered this brewery and we decided to try it. They have a decent patio, and great interior. Huge space for live music, karaoke and game room. The bar tender was very nice. We ordered flight of beer and wings, potstickers and fries for food. Everything was great. The service was excellent. The bar tender is very nice to talk to. Brings good energy. Recommend sitting at the table if you don't have a large party. Karaoke singers were great too. Decently crowded space. We are definitely looking forward to stopping by on our way next time. read more

Love this place! Staff is so friendly and extremely helpful when trying to check see which beer you might like. We usually end up here in a weekend night so they typically call have live music which is nice. This night we got a couple of appetizers, Korean Red Chile wings and the loaded fries. This place was a delightful surprise. The beer was great and the food was perhaps, better. It's a great selection of beers made in house. The bartenders could not have been more friendly. We had questions and they had answers. The prices were good. Plenty of parking. It's a nice big space with indoor and outdoor seating. It was karaoke night and I gotta say, almost every singer was terrific in song selection and voice. I've been here a few times, but I'll be back. read more

Have mixed feelings. The food is hit or miss--most likely frozen (lack flavor and could definitely use some refinement). Additionally, the condiment area near the ordering station was sticky, which is a bit off-putting. Bathrooms were a bit of a mess but there's children running in and out so that's expected. Had a beer tasting flight and also tasted my family's selections too. Wasn't a hardcore fan of any of them in particular but logged them into Untapped easily. read more

Camping at Westmoreland or visiting Montross, stop in to Northern Neck Brewing. Not only do they brew delicious beer, they carry local VA wines and have a kitchen. The staff were very welcoming and the food tasty. Beers were good too but my friend and I shared an Ingleside Albariño. The building looks brand new with ample seating inside and out. Love this place! We were looking for a casual place to get something to eat and stumbled upon norther neck brewery. They have tons of outdoor seating (perfect because we had our dog). The inside is also large and fun. They had live music when we went in. The bartender was so friendly and helpful. I had a wine and husband had a beer. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Popped in here on a chilly Saturday afternoon... grabbed a seat at the bar.. it took a couple minutes to get a Beer/Wine menu but the place was packed! Bartender's were very busy but friendly! They offered advice and I went with a flight... I got four total different beers (all were decent in there own way) I did go up to the walk up food ordering window they had some specials for the night and a fairly decent menu with a few good options asked the lady at the window after I decided on getting the tacos should I get the marinated grilled chicken, shredded beef, or shrimp Dot she said I should get either the shredded beef or shrimp so I picked the shrimp... I wish I probably should've picked the grilled marinated chicken or the shredded beef. The shrimp were barely warm and they were sliced in half. The cabbage was mediocre. There was a little sauce on there reminiscence of maybe a ginger/fish sauce, but thank goodness for some Frank's red hot to spice it up, yes I would go again and I would not get the tacos. They also had music that evening, which is very fun to listen to met a few people from my community there and had a pint of beer to finish off the evening. read more

What a fantastic addition to the town! We came a few weeks ago and had their beer (I had a Blonde and my husband had a West Coast IPA) and it was really good! Came back yesterday to try the food and it was so tasty. We both had specials - blackened scallops and soft shell crab. Both inside and outdoor patio are very pleasant. I took some people for a tour and Butch (one of the owner) gave us a in depth tour, explained the process of beer making and answered all of our question. It was informative and very interesting. We had samples and they were all very good. I love IPA's but also enjoyed the Belgian , the Red and the blonde. Then we tasted the food. Yum! Not typical bar food.
