We were visiting family up in Southern MD and they brought us to Leonardtown for some sightseeing…read more They suggested going to The Rex for an early dinner since it was NYE. We got there pretty early, so it wasn't super crowded yet. We were quickly seated, considering we were a party of 8. Our waiter seemed pretty busy with the tables he already had, but he did a good job of keeping up and getting us what we needed. Our table ordered a variety of things, the typical bar food like fried mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, grilled cheese, burgers and fries etc. You'll have to refer to their review for their thoughts. I will say though, I didn't hear any complaints from them. My BIL seemed to enjoy his birria tacos and my nephew said it was the best grilled cheese he's ever had! So make that of it what you will. I, on the other hand, always like to order THAT different item. I'm that person. I also haven't really eaten hand held items or things I need to bite into in awhile, due to my braces, so I chose to have the shrimp etouffee. Probably not the best choice. It wasn't bad, but I just found it to be bland, unless that is how it is supposed to be? Maybe it's the nature of the dish itself? I'll have to do some more research on it and try it again in restaurant that specializes in that type of cuisine. The positive thing was that it was a generous portion. I just feel like all it was, was shrimps with a lot of onion and peppers, pan fried in butter and a small amount of spices. The rice definitely needed some more cooking. The next day, I repurposed it. I should have made an IG reel LOL. I felt like I was doing one of those cooking challenges. You know the kind when someone brings takeout to a chef and asks them to make it into an entirely new dish? I reheated it, added more spices and added an egg! Perfect breakfast haha. Overall, everyone at the table seemed satisfied with their meals. I think I just didn't order the right thing. The side we were on was more of a bar set up, so not the best for kids, but the menu was pretty kid-friendly. They have a great patio area outside with firepits in the middle. It was raining that day and plus it's winter and too cold for me, but I can see it being a nice option for the Spring and Fall months. They also had another lounge type place that connected from the inside, so we took a peak. It was super cute in there with artwork and "The Rex" neon sign. It was super quiet in there, and maybe it was just the time, but seems like a fun place to hang and get some drinks. Give it a try when you're in Leonardtown! Stay safe, Friends!

Although the plastic cup of martini olives from the bar and the maple syrup as a crude dipping sauce was an unambiguous tell. WTF guys. Zero stars.

We stopped by Forward Brewing for the first time just to grab a few beers, get out of the house,…read moreand relax for a while, and it ended up being a great evening. The service was excellent from the start. Since it was our first visit, the staff gave us some genuinely helpful recommendations instead of just pointing us toward the menu. We tried a few of the IPAs along with a cider and enjoyed everything we had. We also ordered the pretzels, which came out hot and were perfect with the mustard and cheese dipping sauces. Simple, but really good with the beer. One of the things that really stood out was how welcoming everyone was to our dog. They brought him a bowl of water without us having to ask, and a few members of the staff even stopped by to give him some attention and belly rubs. It was a small thing, but it made the whole visit feel especially friendly. The outdoor space has a relaxed neighborhood-brewery feel, especially in the evening with the string lights. Great beer, good snacks, friendly service, and an easygoing atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

Walk up to the bar get a beer. Not walk up and be asked if have a seat somewhere before they hand you a beer. Hi Parice! I'm so sorry about this experience. The City of Annapolis requires us to have a seat for every person, even if they're just having a beer, so we have to seat everyone. We've had a host working weekends since we've been open to ensure this happens. Every table has a number on it now, and we should have done a better job about pointing you to that number before (or while) you ordered. I do hope you'll come by another time. Saturdays in June are some of our busiest days, but there are lots of other slower days when you can come in and easily get a table. Again, we're sorry for this experience and hope to see you again!

Food was good, service was good, prices were actually better than expected…read more We went after mass on Saturday evening. My wife said it was pretty good food, but also a bit expensive (her work had brought some food in from there previously). She ordered the fish & chips, I had a bacon cheeseburger. Food was great, good portion size, tasted like it should. The only thing that was even slightly negative was that I ordered a Stone Hazy IPA, and it was only 12 oz. Generally expect a full pint when it's on tap... 12 oz is for cans. But with two beers (wife ordered a cider that was really good) and two entrees, the whole meal was still only $46, before tip. So it ended up being a good value.

Wait staff was friendly. We ordered crab cake, she crab soup, fish and chips, cheese pizza, and draft beers. Crab cake at $33 was a good size, with healthy lumps here and there, and well seasoned. The sides of slaw and fingerling potatoes that came with it were good. Pizza was cheesy with good crust. The she crab soup could use a little more crab meat, and peas and carrots BUT the fish and chips was underwhelming and could use more seasonings and less time in the frying pan. It was just dry to my taste (meh) and the 2 pieces were small. The side garden salad that came with it were flimsy shreds of iceberg and 3 overripe and soft cherry tomatoes.

This was the best fish and chips I've had in a long time, and the ribeye sandwich was also really, REALLY good. There is a wide selection of beers to choose from, with a couple of really interesting additions. We shared a couple flights and were especially happy with the Kolsch, the Irish Red, and the Sweet Porter. Our group was welcomed with smiling faces, they checked in on us often to see if we needed anything at all, and we thoroughly enjoyed the spotless and modern, yet warm, space. Love that they have plenty of off-street parking, and gender-neutral restrooms. Bring cash or pay a 3% credit card fee.

After the Montross brewery was closed we hardly stopped in Montross. Recently we discovered this brewery and we decided to try it. They have a decent patio, and great interior. The bar tender is very nice to talk to. Brings good energy. Recommend sitting at the table if you don't have a large party. Karaoke singers were great too. Decently crowded space. We are definitely looking forward to stopping by on our way next time.
