    Red flight

Beautiful property, particularly the tasting area. Wine is different for everyone's palate, so some may find their wines amazing. They certainly have a broad selection of reds & whites. Being accustomed to west coast Sonoma & Napa wines, the variations here didn't measure up to expectations. Again, wine is very much an individual experience. This is a great tasting opportunity & enjoyable space. Check'em out.

A beautiful setting!! Easy parking on a weekday for our camper. Two separate setting areas outside and a large inside area. Very peaceful feeling. We had the Pinot Grigio, Rose and the Chardonnay. They were all very good. The wine club looks great. The staff were great.

Loved everything about this winery! We went inside to order our flight (and use our Reserve Pass) and take outside to the cutest courtyard (they have two). Beautiful day with plenty of shade to shield from the sun. We really liked all the wines and bought two bottles to take home. There was a food truck there, so that was great too. We cannot wait to return and bring our family.

It was nice I thought samples were small for $12 and they had no food truck or music luckily I brought our own food! And water! I wouldn't go back without music or foo truck and I definitely wouldn't do the samples! In my opinion samples should be free if gonna be that small and they should clean table off outside before they open and put up umbrellas we had to clean our chairs off and I had a table cloth but all in all we had fun not sure I would rush back we bought glasses of wine after that cheesy samples glasses were $7 each the staff was friendly inside selling the wine but never saw any staff outside cleaning we sat in area that was smoking we don't smoke but we liked the chairs better and it was sunny bathroom from very clean so that was a plus! I left off a star for prices and no music they had a radio playing but then they turned that off! It was time to go!

The vineyard courtyard space is inviting to take your time with your wine. The wine tasting attendant was as sweet as she could be. My wine palette could not find agreeable wine but with her persistence the winner in taste was found. The field of wild flowers at the entrance is like from a Monet painting and it is sight that stays with you forever.

Great winery! Grounds are amazing, friendly service, good wine, and there's a secret garden feel. Must stop on the wine trail!

What a lovely winery! Beautiful scenery, gorgeous outdoor seating area, rooms for events, nice tours and rustic, old world decor. The wines are good and reasonably priced. The tasting is informative and you'll get a generous pour. The gift shop is a bit pricey but cute finds. The music scene is cool too, I've been to several shows here and always have a good time! The restrooms are awkwardly located in an event room, across from the patio and outside of the tasting room. We had to walk into a party that was being held there and we felt like wedding crashers... but it couldn't be helped, it was a wine pressing issue!

Stop by on the way from South Carolina to New York, the vineyard has a backyard with outdoor seating under the shades . We have the flight of $10 with 5 samples (its modified based on your interest - dry or sweet ). We also had cheese, crackers and salami for $20 to pair with the drink. 2 flights for 2 ppl and snacks -= $40ish. They also give us 2 complimentary wine glasses with its logo to bring home. The wine tastes very good. Especially the blue crab. Highly recommended! Sorry no pic of the drink, we were too eager

    Wine slushy

After having a vacation home in the Northern Neck for over a year, I finally made it to Ingleside Vineyards for the first time. What a gem! The courtyard is adorable and shady - perfect on a hot summer day when it's too hot to be on my own back patio. We had wine slushies. They were delicious and refreshing. I definitely plan to return with my husband.

Holly was very friendly--definitely a big talker. Cons:The winery is unimpressive from the outside, and unfortunately that didn't change once inside. While the employee we interacted with was pleasant, she couldn't answer basic questions about the wines' flavor profiles, which felt like a missed expectation. The "beer list" was simply a board that read "IPA, Ale, Lager," and they were already out of the IPA. I usually enjoy Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, but both were mediocre here. If you're searching for a refined or classy winery experience, this isn't it--keep driving. Overall: This winery offers an affordable tasting and one standout wine, but the experience falls short in presentation and knowledge. The lack of ambiance, limited beer options, and inability to answer basic questions about the wines take away from what could have been a more enjoyable visit. It's fine for a casual stop, but not for those seeking a polished winery experience.

She shared so much about wine and winemaking which was awesome. It wasn't just someone trying to get you to buy wine it was an experience. Side note: great photographer and dang em happy birthday too! 3. Wines are pretty good but OooooH MAN! That dessert the chocolate decadence. Chocolate cake, rich and moist and served warm in a wine glass sprinkled with their Cabernet sugar (made from the skin of the one grapes I believe) this is available for purchase. She also drizzled a Cabernet syrup tho not for sale amazingly delicious. We had one with and one without and by far that addition of syrup was phenomenal. 4. Aside from amazing chocolate cake they have cheese spread you can purchase. 5. You can sit inside and play chess or chill, or go outside and sit by water. 6. Dog friendly however, they can't be inside. But plenty of outdoor beautiful seating with views of the water (I recommend bringing off)

Green and blue décor that will have you chilling out and ready to sip some wine! The outdoor patio is small but really cute! The selection of gifts and foods is not huge, but they're unique, like the Cabernet Sugar! Inside you will find a diminutive bar with about 3 or 4 bar stools where you can begin your journey through their selection of wines. Liz, our pourer was just as sweet as some of the wines! The wine tasting was 7$ and you can keep the souvenir glass. I love the wine glass because it was smaller than most which I prefer. We started with the Blue Heron White and it was a tad sweet for my tastebuds. I loved the bottle though, so classically Colonial Beach so I had to get a bottle! Moving onto the Viogner, this was probably my fav of the lineup - dry but with a crisp edge. They were out of the Blue Heron Rosé-sad face... I love a rosé so I'll have to come back for that one! The Petit Verdot was wow... pucker up... to dry-I like what someone once told me "I don't like to be thirsty when I'm drinking wine" and that describes this wine perfectly. The Petit Manseng was very sweet but ok. The Hopped Cider was an apple cider with hops that tasted a little like beer but not for me. We also tried the non-alcoholic cider red which was like Kool-Aid. And we also got to try a Pumpkin Spice Cider that was bubbly and tasty which I could see drinking on a fall evening by a bonfire. All and all, this is a cute tasting room that is fairly new so it's having some growing pains. It needs to be a little more organized, like having the tasting sheets out, the crackers on the bar, etc. But I'm sure by by my next visit, the kinks will be smoothed out. I'd definitely keep this place on your wine tour list, but don't expect to be blown away. None of the wines really stood out, but for a tasting room, it's a a beachy, fun spot and I'm glad Colonial Beach is getting hipster!!

The historic structures are now a museum operated by the National Park Service & is listed on the National Historic Register. Built by Thomas Lee, who served as an Acting Governor of the Colony of Virginia, construction was completed in the early 1740's. The buildings breathe history. One can feel it walking the grounds. Two of Lee's sons Richard Henry Lee & Francis Lighthouse Lee were signers of the Declaration of Independence & Delegates to the First Continental Congress. Thomas Liddell Lee was a Virginia Legislator. Walking the grounds where those men, who were instrumental in the Founding of the country, walked, lived & even played was a feeling that's hard to describe. I'd love to hear what the house and grounds could tell me with the whispers & stories it still must hold. The benefit of taking the backroads to Alexandria or nearby Charles County, MD, rather than the long parking lot that I-95 has become, is passing the wonderful historic places on the route. My route starts at the highway 17 exit off I-64 west and can continue north a number of different ways depending on my final destination. The easiest way to reach Stratford Hall and other beautiful historic properties from Highway 17 is to cross the Rappahannock River at Tappahanock on Highway 360 then north on Highway 3 which winds toward the Potomac. You'll see the signs for Stratford Hall from that road. If you're feeling adventurous, like I did in earlier years, you'll let your GPS take you through roads in an exploration of the countryside. In historic, beautiful Virginia you never know what you'll find. A visit to Stratford Hall is a must for those fascinated by American history.

All around well done and one of my favorite of the old surviving Virginia plantations. You park and go thru a very small museum to pay your dues. Then across a neat bridge over a ginormous gully to the gift shop and a beautiful walk to the house. The house tour (self audio) was quite cool. The grounds were just awesome. Lots of outbuildings well maintained. It was like a mini Colonial Williamsburg in all the depth and information. I could have spent a day there. Later, I decided to drive the other side and stumbled upon a whole new unexpected world. Lots of cabins that could be rented, a restaurant that seemed closed for the winter and then a windy drive to the river where people were searching and finding fossil shark teeth. One showed me his treasures. They weren't gigantic, but you could definitely tell they were shark teeth. Finally before leaving the river front was a old gristmill which alone would have been worth the trip. Anyone near the area should add it to their list and if you have guests around, make it an activity on your "visitor's list".
