    a menu for wine tasting

We decided to stop here on the way home from MD after stopping at two others nearby. This was by far one of my favorites! We met the winemaker, Floyd, who as amazing! He walked us through each wine and his thought bwgind each one. He was very personable and extremely patoent with any questions we had! We also had the pleasure of meeting both the owners, R.D. and Junghee, both so wonderful as wrll! They spent time speaking with us telling the story about the winery and their wines. The wines themselves were fantastic, our favorites being the sangiovese. Do not let he tasting room (which is also their production room!) fool you! They are adding on to the building now, and we cannot wait to see where they go from here!

Great tasting host. Good local wine. Had a Taco truck and crafters on site. Rustic drive to get here. Hospitable, leisurely common area.

Winemaker is from Washington state. Grapes are Virginian and most are grown on site. Grab a bottle of the Chambourcin and the Tannat!

The vinard is onsite and I believe they help other local wineries in the area to make wine. The employees were great, so friendly and knowledgeable. There was live music. The tasting room is spacious and comfortable, with tables and couches perfect for relaxing with friends. There's also a charming gift shop, along with a selection of cheeses and snacks available for purchase. Cons:I tried the five-red tasting for $12, but none of the wines were especially memorable. The pours were inconsistent, with some wines served as one sip, some two, and others three. The cheeses for purchase are pricey, with 4 oz costing $13. The most significant issue was the wine glasses--each sip had a strong odor reminiscent of dirty sponge water, indicating that their glass-cleaning process needs major improvement. Overall: A charming vineyard with rich history and a comfortable tasting space, but the wines didn't impress and snacks are pricey. Great for the atmosphere, less so for the tasting. Based on this experience, I rate this establishment a 2.5 out of 5.

I hate going to a winery and not enjoying half the wines because what they say they are, are nothing like how they taste. That is not the case here at all! Debbie also labeled our flight tray, so there was no confusion over which wine was which. As far as the atmosphere, it was early on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one other couple there when we arrived, but more folks came in while we were enjoying our wine. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful day, but there is indoor seating and it is very nice and clean. Debbie (owner) was very friendly and informative about the wines. We did not try the snacks as we had had a large breakfast, so I can't comment on those. We bought 4 bottles of wine, which I felt were reasonably priced $15-$25 with a discount for amount spent, which was unexpected but nice. We will definitely return.

The grapes are a bit younger (oldest vines about five years) so the flavors are sharp and punchy. There drinkable now but also will age well. They have quite a variety on the tasting menu - from port style, whites and reds. We had a great tasting experience with one of the owners and felt comfortable sitting and drinking wine after our wine tasting. No snacks yet, but they are planning on getting.
