Oh how I wished I lived in a city with a cool market, aka Food Hall. This market in Baltimore (near the Johns Hopkins Hospital) reminded me of some of the markets I've been to in LA, Philadelphia, Cleveland and New Orleans. It's rows and rows of food you can order an eat, food you can take home and cook yourself, and I'm sure some stuff I'm missing. If I lived in the area (which I would totally not do), I'd make this a regular stop for sure. Just skip Shore Seafood which was a disappointment. There are plenty of other vendors!

I've NEVER been to this market at all Yet I come to Bmore more times than I can count. 6-18-24 So thinking we were going to get breakfast, my bf surprised me by stopping here first!!!. We got smoothies and he got chicken livers for grandma!!. This space had a lot of options be it. Lunch, breakfast, dinner, Fresh foods (fish etc) , you can even grab ice cream for the kids and a shirt or jewelry or a book!!.. like you can't go wrong it's just a lot of people but I love it's very spacious to walk through without elbow to elbow!!.. The customer service was cool the Lady at Smoothie Place was so nice and patient! don't get a large smoothie it's huge asssf!! bigger than an average large!! .. you have to order by number the number 11 was surprisingly really good with the strawberries pineapple mango and banana!! But you couldn't even taste the banana. I'd definitely return and check out the fresh fish. & seafood Counter! The value was very affordable too

Now that I have been here again since like 2012 it was ok they have lost a lot of venders since I been here and they can use a good detail clean of the place . The parking is probably the best part it's only a quarter. I'm hoping that they come back as strong as they use to be. The culture is off alignment from the good music and dancing days

Belly Busters Deli One of the best if not the best smoothie spot in East Baltimore. This spot takes over the number one spot from Sushi Ichiban in Towson. Belly Busters has a perfect blend of ice, real fruit, and flavor. If you're ever on the Eastside or near the Northeast market it worth stopping in. The stand is closest to the McElderry Street side.

This is THE place to have lunch if you work on this side of town. It's full of local vendors, all competing for your lunch money so the prices are great. The last two times I went, I got the shrimp salad sandwich from Harry's -- it was so goos I had to order it twice. Today, I had some steamed salmon and veggies. It was super fresh and delicious! Shore Seafood even gives you butter.

A cool place to look around in East Baltimore and get some lunch to go. There are many stalls, mostly selling fried food, and some selling fresh produce. My favorite takeout is the Korean stand towards the back of the market. It's usually the busiest during lunch, but still cool to check out.

Roughly three pounds of asian soul food left from my lunch.

I do miss the old Cross Street Market before the complete renovation in 2018, which seemed to cater to the average local, however, the current, more modern market certainly is a gem in Federal Hill despite the more expensive food prices. I like the selection of cuisines featured. The diversity covers bar food, dinner food, quick bites, and dessert. And of course there are plenty vendors serving crab dishes. Some of the great vendors have come and gone, like the pretzel dog vendor which for a long time was the only reason I would visit Cross Street Market. I appreciate the seating made available in the areas near each food vendor. The space is utilized efficiently, from the storage of food in the freezers near the dining tables, to the small stages where artists perform. The market is a great pre-game destination and option to watch the game if you skip the stadium altogether. Keep in mind, on NFL game day this place gets packed, so arrive early. There is ample street parking in the vicinity, however, on game days finding parking in this neighborhood is a nightmare. Overall, a must visit when in the area.

Lots of lunch choices, most of them unhealthy due to the use of vegetable oil, greasy dressings or questionable freshness ingredients. Perhaps because I came in midweek and was quite empty. You can grab a hot breakfast and brunch, empanadas, pies, donuts, coffee, vegan items, dips, fresh bread, flowers, tea, dairy meat and, of course, locally grown fruits and vegetables. I went to the market for some fresh baked bread and bagels. While I was there, I was persuaded to purchase a vegan sandwich and some organic vegetables. I had to stop myself because there were quite a bit of other things that caught my eye too. The market is set up right below the highway and was very easy to get to. There is a public parking lot right next to it as well as lots of street parking. I found the Instagram page for the market and the website to be very helpful and informative with information like times, vendors and explanations on how to arrive. All of this adds up for a uniquely Baltimore experience with something for everyone.
