North Pacific came to our home through our Home Warranty company to perform a simple pre-season tune-up..the technician said he'd replace the capacitor being afraid the old one wouldn't make through summer BUT to our surprise, this "specialist" wired the new capacitor wrong making our ENTIRE outdoor unit to BURN, yes, it caught fire and all the wires were split and burnt. That pre-season tune-up is now costing us more than $2K to fix. So if you're looking for a company to take care of you, I'm sorry to break the news, look somewhere else. The images speak for themselves. [UPDATE on 07/29/2022] We were contacted by an employee on 07/26/2022, he seemed concerned about what happened to us and he asked if he could stop by our place the next morning. Upon his arrival he was super friendly and genuinely seemed concerned about what have happened to us (our whole AC unit needs to be replaced because it caught fire due to North Pacific Mechanical wiring it wrong during a pre-season tune-up). This employee looked at our AC unit and saw with his own eyes what caused the issue and promised go back and talk to his boss, the OWNER, of the company. Today (07/29/2022) we were contacted by this same person to inform us the OWNER of the company decided to DO NOTHING about it and NOT stand behind the "work" (more like the problem they caused) North Pacific Mechanical has done. So it's crystal clear to me that North Pacific Mechanical DOES NOT care about their customers or losing them. If you had good luck using them in the past, good for you, but if you are looking for a serious company that will stand up and own their mistakes and problems caused by them during their services, PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and look somewhere else, they WILL NOT stand behind their work and WILL NOT look after you if they cause a problem, like what happened to us. I'm so glad we're now in good care of another company (services the same areas as they do) that has been in constant contact with me, keeping me in the loop with everything that's been going on with our home warranty company and the process (going smoothly). North Pacific Mechanical, you guys are not welcome anywhere near my house ever again. I'm spreading the word not to hurt your business (I don't make anything out of this) but to help save people from the headache you guys caused us. And a little message to the owner, keep running your business the way you have and I'm looking forward to seeing where this will take you and your company. Keep thinking about your pocket before your customers and you'll go a long way. Folks out there, do yourself a favor and hire PROFESSIONALS that will stand up to the quality of their work and own their mistakes like REAL PROFESSIONALS.

Zach checked our old house wiring, installed a new fixture, and repaired and replaced some old switches.

Deon has replaced most of the fans on my off brand mini split units. He's the man. Prompt and determined! Bonus: he's great with pets.

He came out Sunday night and figured out the problem. He was able to get our unit running again even though he did not have the exact correct parts. He explained everything to us and came back the next morning with the correct parts and fixed it. We were very impressed with the service, price, and quality, and how professional he was. Highly recommend them.

The sellers had installed 2 new direct-to-consumer brand (Zokop) heat pumps with 4 heads (2 for each) in the home roughly 1 year ago (they are not providing records, but this is a reasonable estimate). After move-in, we noticed an error on the head unit in our son's room. Precision had previously repaired a broken AC at my small business 2 years ago. It was a good experience then, so I was excited to hire them again. They sent 2 technicians to our house, Edgar and Dylan, to service the units and diagnose. Long story short: Dylan broke the fan in one of the good units, which was maybe a year old (per Edgar's estimation based on some technical detail about Freon...you'd have to ask him) and previously working perfectly. He stuck a probe thermometer in the unit to check its efficiency and then caught the fan blade with it as he pulled it out. There was a CRUNCH and 3 bits of plastic fell out. He said "what was that?" and otherwise shrugged it off. No apology. No taking of responsibility, no solution or assessment offered. Completely unprofessional. I stayed calm, paid for their service, and got them out of my house. They assessed the issue with the other unit to be a Freon leak and quoted for repair. Shortly afterwards, I did a small amount of googling and concluded it was likely the fan. The following week, their office called to schedule the leak repair and I asked to speak to the service manager. His name is Wendell. He asked for a photo of the broken pieces (same one I'm posting here) as well as a photo of the label on the unit, which I also provided. He said he'd see what he could figure out. 1 week went by, I called back, he said he couldn't find anything about the unit or source parts, but if I find the part, they could install it. Not a good solution. I stayed calm and said I would think about it. Here's the thing, I'm also a repair-based contractor. Sometimes, I make a mistake and break something. We're all human, but our mistakes are our responsibility. I can't imagine breaking a customer's perfectly good thing and then just acting like, well, nothing I can do. Total BS. You can't find the part? Buy us a new unit. Too expensive? File an insurance claim. You came into my house, broke a new, working thing, and then left me high and dry. Completely unacceptable. Anyway, I thought about it, decided I don't want these clowns in my house again, and I don't want to keep asking them to act like adults with a sense of responsibility. I hired another company to fix the freon leak. They charged $100 more than what Precision quoted me but also did the assessment and repair the same day. That technician verified these pieces are from the "blower wheel," which is just another word for fan. I still have not resolved the issue with the fan Precision broke. They have a responsibility to make this right, but I'm sure it's on nobody's to do list. Maybe they read their reviews?

A couple days after we moved in, we kept hearing the most bizarre sounds in the wall. We researched plumbing companies & Cornels came right up. I reached out on a Tuesday and got a response within minutes! We were able to chat via text which was honestly very convenient. They were able to address my concerns professionally & were soooo friendly. I was able to get scheduled the very next day. Wednesday morning rolled around and I got a text with Brenden's picture, which made me feel super safe and even provided a little information about him. He then called and asked if it was a good time for him to head over and gave his ETA. When Brenden arrived he was friendly, warm, and so professional. He was able to easily see what was going on, explain to me in a way I could understand what was going on, and assured me if we still continued to hear the noise to call back. I truly will call Cornels for any of our plumbing or heating needs!! Brenden was wonderful & secured a life long costumer!

He said ge would not service it because it will only make it a couple of weeks. They charged me $89 anyways. I called and got a refund since they refused to service it. Nice that they refunded money for service they never performed. They gave me an estimate of over 10k to replace it. I called clean air act. They serviced it up and said it's still has a lot of life left. Now 2026 Chris is texting me wanting to service it on a special of $49. Why? So they can refuse to service it again? They only want to replace units not service them. Here is a picture how they left it last summer. Refused to clean it too. It is still running strong.

The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider.

I almost fell for this trick. But as he pressed me to make an appointment, he asked me what kind of a/c unit I have, which is an odd question for someone who has worked on our equipment previously. I then asked him directly, "Have I done business with you before?" No response. So I asked again. No response. It turns out, I have no record of doing business with Conrad Heating & Cooling, because we have never done business with this company! I told him I would not be scheduling anything with Conrad. This representative didn't even know what type of unit we have, confirming there was no prior relationship. The familiar tone of the initial text was a deliberate tactic to create a false sense of trust. And I find that very offensive! I'd encourage other homeowners, especially seniors who are frequently targeted by this kind of approach, to read unsolicited texts carefully. If a company implies they've worked with you before, ask specific questions before agreeing to anything. In this case, the deception became obvious very quickly.
