I ended up propping a dining chair against the door for the one night I was there and praying that being in the middle of nowhere would protect me as well. The room itself was visibly clean with *incredibly* old fixtures and appliances. In many places the managers had chosen to paint over things rather than replace. I don't mind if things are old, but if you move or look behind the furniture (which I really should not have done) there was a world of dust bunnies and old dessicated spider webs. Unfortunately when I put my head down to sleep, I could see into the gap behind the kitchen cabinets and it was AWFUL. It seemed no one had cleaned back there in years. It was hard for me to fall asleep after that, and at that point in the night, I had no where else to go. I only stayed here because my AirBnB reservation fell through and when I called in, I was able to reserve the same day over the phone. I appreciate that they were able to accomodate me last minute, hence the two stars rather than one. There was also confusion about the actual reservation, which I was surprised by. This misunderstanding could have been my error but I don't think so. I wish that management would have been clearer in their communication with me over the telephone when I made the reservation and kinder with me in their communications over email after I checked out. Either way, I don't recommend staying here.

Okay, it's not the Ritz Carlton, but it was comfortable. Our one "complaint" was the shower water regulator was stuck and my husband ended up with a cold shower. I was able to turn the regulator (but afraid I was going to break it) and had a normal shower. All in all, I would recommend the Becket Motel if you don't care about "fancy".

We had the 3 course meal with a choice of 3 entrees and both of our families have not stopped talking about it! We had multiple people who have allergies or restrictions and they were accommodated throughout the weekend, which was such a relief as they were able to just enjoy themselves fully. Sarah was an incredible help throughout the dinner and ensured we were all taken care of. We made the decision to move to an outdoor cocktail hour and tented reception due to COVID-19 mask mandates in Amherst, but you seriously could not tell it was not what we originally planned. We felt so secure that our plans would come to life in the hands of the staff, and we were so happy with how everything turned out! Our guests raved about the venue location, the passed hors d'oeuvres and the dinner selection and the staff were beyond communicative - again, Catherine was a HUGE help, from getting us champagne glasses, to general check ins, and helping get stains out of my wife's dress not one but two different times...Both of us have worked for wedding events and in the food service industry in the past and know just how much needs to go on behind the scenes to make an event successful. Their staff worked incredibly hard and provided such an incredible wedding during the heart of the pandemic, which is no easy task. Their flexibility and attention to detail were clear throughout the weekend and made every difference for us. When we asked if there was coffee or hot cocoa we were told to go to the bar and order it and it would be delivered to us- we were surprised that she didn't stand up and offer to take care of it for us. Customer service training should be a focus. There are a lot of places to stay and we should feel that we made the right choice in staying here and spending money here but we don't. Hopefully employee training as well as some repairs will be done so that customers can benefit.

There's a window air conditioner which you can program yourself. Also 2 overstuffed arm chairs to hang out in. While watching a very large flat screen television. Her bathrooms are huge all totally redone. This one we especially liked the base of the sink was a stand from a vintage treadle sewing machine. Plenty of hot water and some really nice smelling shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all in large pump bottles. You can help yourself to whatever you need. Lots of clean fluffy towels too. Breakfast is served between 830 and 930 in this what I can only describe as a magical dining room where you sit around a large piano, you have access to two or three types of juice which you can pour into beautiful crystal glasses. There are carafes of hot coffee, and you have a variety of unusual mugs to pour that into also along with any kind of sugar or creamer you would need. Marcy, who runs the Inn and is an artist has painted the walls with figures from Alice's and Wonderland. She makes you a home-cooked breakfast Eggs with bacon or sausage or ham depending on the day also with some sautéed vegetables to go with the eggs and this time an amazing poppyseed cake on the side. Seems that everyone who stays there really enjoys it also. There's usually some interesting conversations going on around that piano. If the walls could talk and in a way they do. Marcy leaves a small bowl of chalk on the piano for you to write your comments on her wall so in a way the walls do talk as there are so many wonderful comments to be seen and read. Just to mention your door to your room has a code so you don't need to carry a key and also there is a code to get into the house which Marcy supplies to you before you arrive. Parking is in the back and there's always a parking spot for you. Marcy is just an amazing hostess. If you ever get to Springfield and want to stay in a super cozy place for a very reasonable price this is definitely for you. I know we will be returning next summer on our way to the Cape and Marcy will have another beautiful room waiting for us.

Candi has thought of everything to make guests feel welcome and at home. The grounds are incredible. I've been very inspired in Candi's gardens and have used some of her ideas in my yard. This visit they were building a chicken coop which just adds to the charm. Isn't it great to know where your eggs are coming from? The breakfasts are delicious! Entirely home made, delicious, and abundant! Treat yourself and book a trip to Amherst just to stay at Stone House Farm. It is a magical place!

The rooms are stocked with snacks and there's some local artwork you can purchase if you like. The upstairs suite doesn't have any kind of a kitchen, though there's a mini-fridge and I believe a microwave, so dishes are bussed out as you use them; don't plan on doing any food prep on your own. The hostess brought breakfast to the room (there's not a common dining room like most B&Bs) and pointed out the local ingredients including eggs from her chickens and vegetables from the garden. This is a real working mini-farm and it's fun to stroll the grounds and see what is going on. And it's VERY close to the northeast corner of the campus; we were able to leave our car and walk to his dorm (Van Meter) in about 20 minutes. Like the website says, the grounds are very rich in animals and there's an extremely friendly cat who wouldn't stay out of our room in spite of the management's desire to keep the premises pet-free. Keep this in mind if you have allergies.
