It's within easy walking distance of the Ness Islands in one direction, and the main part of town - shops and restaurants - in the other direction. I liked that it was a bit removed from "the bustle" of the city (if Inverness can ever be said to "bustle"), but close enough to get to without a car. Our room was in the "townhome" part of the hotel (not the main building, but the one across the parking lot), which was perfect. Our room was gigantic and super comfortable. My favorite thing was that the windows actually opened, which gave us a chance to enjoy the slight breeze and gave us a front-row seat to the church bells ringing down the way. The bed was huge and very comfortable. It was actually a little *too* comfortable; we ended up sleeping over 10 hours on our first night there! I woke up about five minutes before the front desk called to ask if we'd be needing housekeeping for the day. Oopsie! We didn't take advantage of room service or hit any of the property's restaurants/bars while we were there (we typically like to experience all a city has to offer when we travel, so while their menu looked inviting, we chose to try some of the places recommended by our taxi driver on the way into town, instead.) They did get bonus points for welcoming us to the hotel with two glasses of champagne - their way of congratulating us on our wedding anniversary. The shower looked modern, but it was kind of awkward to use, and it leaked all over the floor. They have a hair dryer (look in the desk if you can't find it elsewhere), as well as a mini putting green (stored in the closet; it's how you know you're in Scotland, I guess!) There's a TV we never used, and two comfy club chairs situated next to the windows. Check-in and check-out were fast, easy and friendly. They also went out of their way to protect us on that first day. Our taxi driver (super sweet girl named Michelle) was giving us all sorts of tips and advice on our way in, and after I mentioned my half-baked plan to rent bikes to ride out to Culloden, she dropped us off and headed towards a bike shop in town to get information on rentals. She came back to the hotel to tell us everything in person, and the front desk agent refused to tell her our room information, even though she (Michelle) kept insisting we were expecting her. This was the place that made us feel most comfortable, where we could relax after a long day of playing tourist, and where we'd definitely book again, if we're lucky enough to return to Inverness. If you're looking for a place to stay, give them a try!

I let the bar tender know that I enjoyed a specific Speyside whisky and he recommended a Balvenie that was tasty and comparable. We had a beautiful loch view from our room and I enjoyed waking up with the sunrise over the loch outside of our window. We caught the end of storm Amy and the week was pretty wet and chilly but the Bunchrew House Hotel also happily kept us warm! We'd been traveling for a couple of weeks so we had quite a bit of laundry to be done and the hotel also offers a laundry service and that worked out nicely as well. I would definitely recommend staying here and I would stay here again when we revisit Inverness.

Our room was a little warm the first night but upon letting the staff know, we were moved to a new room the next day. I do not remember the room name but it was a classic room as opposed to their superior rooms. The restaurant manager went out of his way to help us get to town when all the taxis were one hour wait times. The bartender made a phone call for us to get in to a busy bar we wanted to visit. We also enjoyed the breakfast and dinner here - all around a great place to stay made even better by the staff.

John and Wilma are lovely and provided impeccable hospitality. We stayed in the Neil Gunn room and it is huge. The bathroom is a treat, too, with its wonderful shower and towel heating rack. Both the room and the bathroom were impeccably clean. Moyness House is a short walk to downtown but is far enough away that we didn't get the noise. In fact, we walked around much of Inverness and found lots of cute B&Bs. However, all of them were on busy, noisy streets and few had good parking. We picked the Moyness House based on the reviews of other travelers and felt immensely fortunate that we did not end up at any of the other places. We appreciate a good night's rest and definitely got it here. Finally, breakfast here is truly satisfying. We had a Scottish breakfast each morning and were amazed at the freshness of the eggs. If you leave the table hungry, it will be your own fault. Thank you, John and Wilma, for a lovely stay and for making our Highland experience so enjoyable.
