    I went in to look at an appliance and found the sales person to have a lack of customer sales skills. He was very rude and condescending.

I paid $596.41 after taxes, to install a honeywell furnace…read morehumidifier (humidifier bought at Home Depot by me) a good job of removing old Wait Humidifier & installing new humidifier. Water line nicely connected. Humidstat left for me to connect, drain left for me to connect. Eighteen gauge/five wire line to living room left for me to purchase, fish through wall and install. Did replace furnace pump (old one was causing water to be on floor). Had almost nothing in Business Vehicile. Had to go to get parts and shut off valves. He did make the furnace/hot water heater area look good. Garbage left for me to get rid of. Missed installing one gas shut off valve. Plumber is paid $100.00 per hour. So the metre was ticking.

I also booked an appointment to meet with their sales person to get a quote for a new furnace and AC because of this issue. The soonest they could come to look at my furnace was 2 days later, but they did. The tech arrived, blew in the drain pipe (which I already checked was free of obstructions), put on a plastic connector to the drain/overflow pipe to make blowing easier next time for some reason (I can easily blow air the other direction from the drain side to check this and I already did). Then he put Freon in and left. He did not check anything further, didn't open the furnace to see what might be leaking, where it was coming from, or if there was something else maybe broken nor did he turn anything on to see if the issue was resolved or still happening. He just left. I turned the A/C back on and within 20 minutes, water was leaking all over the floor again through the furnace, so I called back. A re-visit was scheduled for 3 days later because it was a long weekend and he was driving somewhere else now - too bad he didn't check it while he was still there. That was it, that's the last I saw or heard from him. It was August, very hot, and because my confidence in WJ Barnes had fallen to less than nil, I cancelled my sales appointment for the Tuesday and I called Reliance Home Comfort and two days later (on a Sunday even) I had a new furnace and A/C installed and working - that is how customer service should be provided, not how I received it from WJ Barnes. I gave WJ Barenes 2 stars instead of 1 because she knocked 15 minutes off my bill.

However, after 4 years of use, an incident occurred. While my wife was seated on the sofa in its reclined position, the back suddenly broke, causing her to fall on her back. Concerned, I initiated a warranty claim only to face utter disappointment. The warranty claim was summarily denied, citing 'Willful abuse, neglect or misuse of the Product' Despite my persistent efforts to seek clarification, the store representatives, including Courtney and Alex, displayed dismissive attitudes. Their explanations bordered on incredulity, suggesting either that we exerted excessive force, which isn't covered, or that we should have noticed a potential issue earlier, which we couldn't have as the sofa is sealed, concealing any internal damage, they stated "Failure to file a claim within 14 days (as this can impact our ability to repair/replace the Product);". After numerous attempts to reason with the store, the manager finally offered a settlement, albeit an unsatisfactory one. They offered 60% of what I have paid, but they refused to repair the sofa, claiming it would be more expensive than replacing it. They have the same sofa available, but I would have to pay the difference based on today's price. I feel cheated by The Brick and I don't recommend anyone to buy products there because of the bad quality and cheap tactics to charge for extended warranties and not cover it when we need

I did and they left. Yesterday I had help to remove the mattress off the foundation as I can't lift it myself. I am a senior on my own with a bad back. Surprise! Big rip and a whole in the cover of the foundation. I spoke with Courtney and then her superior Craig from the brick. Got no satisfaction at all. Unwavering in their flat response of "you signed the paper". Hard lessened learned but from now on I will be standing right on top of the delivery people and inspecting every inch of every product. Very poor business standards. Do not shop at the Brick!
