This was our 6th major appliance purchase from Northend over the past 15 years. Always a good selection in the store. Their website now makes it possible to place your order online without even entering the store. Within a week of my order, my appliance was delivered by 2 friendly capable guys. Northend services what they sell. Their prices are competitive with other outlets. In January I went to North End Appliance to book a service call for my dishwasher, which was not fully draining. The gentleman in the store was abrupt, almost rude, but whatever... He's not the repairman. Alex came for the repair. He was right on time. That was the good part of the experience. He did not want to hear my observation of the dishwasher problem. He did not run the dishwasher. He disconnected the discharge hose, cleared a bit of crud from it (yes, there was some, but it was not blocked), reconnected, ran the discharge cycle to ensure it was emptying and not leaking from the reconnection, and left. Would not even consider my request to check for other problem. Told me "all appliances have standing water in them. Even your washing machine." "Not three inches," I said. "I know what I'm doing. This is the twelfth one of these I've done today," he said. And left. Well, he did NOT fix the drainage problem. At all. Luckily I got a recommendation of N.Z. Systems Appliance Service. Booked a service call with a very nice woman on the phone. Bernie came on time (early, actually). Ran the dishwasher first to hear what it was doing. Checked the discharge hose, then checked spigot side of hose connection and pulled out two, folded over, 1/2" rubber feet (no, I don't know what the previous homeowners were washing). Ran the cycle three times to check it -- sounded completely different, of course. Bernie was totally efficient but also nice about telling me when he was doing and why. And he fixed the dishwasher completely. Ive run it twice since he came and it drains completely. No, three-plus inches of water leftover for weeks is not normal. Good news? I went in to look at an appliance and found the sales person to have a lack of customer sales skills. He was very rude and condescending.

I'm a bit surprised by the various reviews here. I was in and out in 5 minutes buying a new, instock dryer on a Saturday and it was delivered and installed Monday morning. Super pleased. read more

I would not recommend North End Appliance. We did a full kitchen reno 4 years ago and bought a set of Kitchen Aid appliances we thought would last. The fridge unfortunately had a design flaw. The repair guy came a couple times (and charged despite knowing it was a flaw) and finally told us to call kitchen aid. They don't stand behind their products and having to put a $5000 fridge to the dump working a few years of purchase is very disheartening. read more

I thought I would give North End Appliance another try as I had moved and needed new appliances. I went into their store and could not find anything that would work in my townhouse. The sizes wouldn't work and I couldn't get matching appliances. So I did give them another chance but it was a no go. I believe In reviews and I use them all of the time. If I'm happy and I can find what I'm looking for and it gives me a long good service I am over the moon. I make sure to write a review and if I'm happy I make sure that is reflected in my review. Go for yourself, visit their store. I wish them luck but to be totally honest The store doesn't work for me. I'm sorry. read more

Today we called for the name of someone to service our 6 yr old Kitchen Aid dishwasher - that just started to leak after from the front - only to be told they do not give out names of service providers. Nice. We have bought several appliances from NE in the past. We will NOT be buying from them again - and we strongly recommend against shopping there if you'd like to avoid future headaches. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. They helped me pick out a kitchen set and they suggested a Maytag gas range and oven combo. When I tried to use the Aqualift self cleaning feature it didn't work at all. I googled this Aqualift cleaning feature to find out that they are involved in a class action lawsuit as it is not a self cleaning oven at all. North End is supposed to be appliance specialists and knowingly sold me an oven with a faulty / non functional self cleaning. As well, when they promised installation of the appliances they charged an extra 400 dollars. When I argued that I had spent nearly 10k on appliances and asked if the fee could be waived for simple hookups, their response was "some people spend 30k or more here". Disgusted that a self proclaimed family owned small local business clearly does not appreciate small local business. Unfortunately my next appliances will be purchased at Leons or the Brick. read more

Well so far reading these reviews, I am almost afraid to see what is going to happen, as we have not even received our appliances and we are already having issues with the service we are NOT receiving, we are waiting for our fridge, stove and over the oven microwave to be delivered and when we called today to set up a time for Sat, we were told they don't do deliveries on Sat, so we asked for Friday and he said no their guy who installs their microwaves will be on holidays for two weeks and our Oven will not be here for another week and a half, totally not acceptable, so he then said well an installation guy will be able to do it Thursday evening so we said ok fine, but he doesn't know for sure what date our oven will be here, at no time ever were we told it would take 7-10 days for this oven to arrive, and in saying that this order was paid on July 2 and today is the 9th, so not sure why is won't be here until the 19th, I am thinking of taking my business elsewhere to a company who appreciates people whom try and shop local, I think we would have gotten better service at Home Depot, or Lowes, trying to debate if I even want to deal with this store, or should we cancel and go elsewhere, It is a shame and after reading these reviews it has released a lot of redflags to me, and I am worried about dealing with a company who treats people like this read more

I have to agree with Mary M. North End Appliance was great when it came to selling me all my kitchen appliances, however when it comes to service - RUN AWAY. I had an issue with the water system on our fridge, and I took pictures of the part that was needed since it was damaged when the fridge was moved for a renovation. We knew what part was needed, but the wrong part was ordered, then we set up a service call to trouble shoot with the technician and the wrong part was ordered AGAIN. So round number 3, and the service tech shows up again and starts to tell us that the wrong part was ordered again. Instead, my boyfriend takes the small piece that is needed and installs it himself. Then we are handed an invoice for almost $300. So not only were we inconvenienced for months without water to the fridge, and had to take 2 afternoons off to be available for service calls, we had to pay a bill for service that we performed ourselves. I will never use North End Appliance again and I warn others to never use either. read more
