As he is quite old he would know I was differentiating from a movie projector. His attention immediately shifted to a senior who walked in with a golf club and we were ignored from that point on. Since I am a firm believer in shopping local we took our business to Denomy's where we were treated with kindness and respect as any customer should be. The showroom up front features all of the sound equipment and there's a lighting room in back to show off all of the awesome fixtures they have. I was very happy with a recent rental of a subwoofer and mixer. The cost was reasonable and they reviewed the item checklist with me when I brought it back. I knew how things worked, what the capabilities were, what it felt like and what it sounded like. The owners were extremely helpful and patient with me, they were interested that I felt right about my new equipment, and there was no pressure or upsell. They also helped me understand the proper setup and functions of my new stuff. The worry about how I might return something if it wasn't right was gone completely. I was happy and I could take the item home with me that day. The very best part? I PAID LESS! I got hands (and EARS!) on experience, expertise to help me understand the setup and functions of my equipment in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, all at a lower price than I would have had I ordered online. I am so glad I bought my sleep buds before they took them off the market for battery failures for a…read morebit. The staff were helpful and informative here. The sleep buds charge 90% of the time and it's usually the right sleep bud that automatically disconnects itself inadvertently here and there. It just requires me to check once or twice before bedtime to make sure they have fully charged. It usually only takes about an hour to fully charge. They do work well and like a charm when they do work however. I have had many good and longer nights of sleep because of these little buds and they help me sleep through loud neighbors having parties or whatever outside sounds might have woken me in the past.

There are stacks all over the store of receivers, tuners, turntables, and speakers. The owner, Moses, was super friendly. He was helping some other folks when we went in, so after he was done with them I asked him for his advice. I didn't realize that meant he would spend almost two hours with me, showing me what equipment he had. He really seems to know his stock back and forth, pulling out names of speakers that were under stacks and insisting that he'd love to let me hear them if I wanted. He told me about the speaker designers, the characteristics of each brand, and what kind of sounds would be emphasized with each. He insisted that every piece of equipment was fully checked when he brought it in He laid out all my options, within my price range, for the styles of music I listen to, and preferred making me listen to different speaker combinations rather than describing them to me. This took some time to attach and detach each set from the receiver, but I really did learn a lot about what the different speakers sounded like, and which brands have similar profiles. Ultimately, I was happy to have a guide that was patient. I didn't anticipate spending so much time to do so, but I don't regret it at all, since it is an investment. I found a set of speakers that I love (after listening to about 10 different sets) that should be perfect for what I need. Ultimately, I think I maybe paid a higher price than I would have gotten on ebay or craigslist for my speakers, but Moses was ridiculously helpful and patient with me and was happy to give me the information I needed. I'm also sure that the speakers are in good working condition - which is worth a lot as well. I don't know about the repair aspect of his shop, but if you want to buy some modern or vintage equipment, Moses can hook you up.
