In January I went to North End Appliance to book a service call for my dishwasher, which was not…read morefully draining. The gentleman in the store was abrupt, almost rude, but whatever... He's not the repairman. Alex came for the repair. He was right on time. That was the good part of the experience. He did not want to hear my observation of the dishwasher problem. He did not run the dishwasher. He disconnected the discharge hose, cleared a bit of crud from it (yes, there was some, but it was not blocked), reconnected, ran the discharge cycle to ensure it was emptying and not leaking from the reconnection, and left. Would not even consider my request to check for other problem. Told me "all appliances have standing water in them. Even your washing machine." "Not three inches," I said. "I know what I'm doing. This is the twelfth one of these I've done today," he said. And left. Well, he did NOT fix the drainage problem. At all. Luckily I got a recommendation of N.Z. Systems Appliance Service. Booked a service call with a very nice woman on the phone. Bernie came on time (early, actually). Ran the dishwasher first to hear what it was doing. Checked the discharge hose, then checked spigot side of hose connection and pulled out two, folded over, 1/2" rubber feet (no, I don't know what the previous homeowners were washing). Ran the cycle three times to check it -- sounded completely different, of course. Bernie was totally efficient but also nice about telling me when he was doing and why. And he fixed the dishwasher completely. Ive run it twice since he came and it drains completely. No, three-plus inches of water leftover for weeks is not normal. Good news? I have a trustworthy service company to call now.

Long story short I'm moving my water to a Reverse Osmosis system and wanted my fridge to feed it…read more LG said no need for a filter bypass and gave me tons of information because my fridge has built in bypass.... Maybe it does but mine wasn't working... Mr. Appliance hands down was fantastic!! From the first call speaking to the reps to giving me an alternative perspective/idea on how to accomplish my goal. The manager Mike suggested to bypass my filter overall and not repair it since of the Reverse Osmosis system will be leaps above anything that goes in that fridge and to just push the water around the filter. I called on an afternoon Monday they were out next day afternoon AJay was the tech I received updates on arrival and the tech AJay was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the process. The repair was quick and no mess or issues afterwards. Fantastic customer service Fantastic Technician great company! I will definitely be looking to using their services if need be again Price was very fair! Thank you

TECHNICIANS ARE NOT CERTIFIED FOR SEALED SYSTEM REPAIRS. They will not tell you this when you call…read more My 7 year old LG refrigerator was on but not cooling. I explained the problem over the phone and made an appointment to have it diagnosed. When the technicians arrived, they said it recently had a new compressor installed wouldn't be worth the money to fix, just get a new refrigerator. The diagnosis on the invoice (see photo) stated "will need sealed system diagnosed." So I paid $120 to be told I need a new fridge by techs that aren't certified to properly diagnose the problem that I informed them about when I called. Also, they will not speak to any home warranty company, so if your home warranty requires to speak with a technician, find a different company because you will not get a payout. This company is deceitful, misleading, and you will be an easy way to make $120 for a house call.

We purchased a refurbished washing machine from this store about 3 months ago in August 2014. My…read moremother-in-law had purchased appliances, both new and used, from this store in the past and recommended it. I like to support local businesses so I decided to give it a shot. We found an affordable Whirlpool that had been refurbished and that we were told 'Works great and should last us a while.' This machine looked a little older than I would have liked for the $220 price tag but a new model of this would have cost closer to $500/$600 so I decided to go for it. Kimball's offered a 30 day warranty on the product so I ran about 5 loads that month and it worked fine. Fast forward to October... On average I may do 2/3 loads of laundry every 2 weeks due to the fact that most of my professional attire gets dry cleaned. This would mean that I had run maybe 18 loads of laundry by this the end of the that month. One day I went to change loads and realized that the machine would not shift from the wash cycle to the rinse cycle or the spin cycle, not even with a manual adjustment to the nob. Not wanting to deal with a second broken washing machine in 3 months, I decided to purchase new. Today I called to see if they would at least buy back my broken washing machine to refurbish and re-sell or scrap. The response I received was that it was past the 30 days, I had for 90 days, so it wasn't their problem and I should put an add in the paper to see if I could sell it that way. No apology, no sympathy, no nothing. When I replied that I thought it was a little steep to have charged over $200 for a refurbished machine and not even have the option to sell it back I got a similar response... why would they want it back if it didn't work and that they had too many refurbished machines and that it wasn't their problem. I think it's unfortunate that this is their business practice and they could care less about their customers returning to provide additional business. I wasn't looking for a refund or for them to change their policy but maybe to apologize for the fact that they sold me a product that should have lasted much longer than it did, to offer me $50 to possibly buy back the machine to be refurbished again, or at least to come remove it as to avoid costing me any additional money. I didn't get a single one of these things. I'm not sure how long I should have expected the product to work for but I do know that I will not be purchasing any thing else from this place and neither will my family and friends. Business gets referred by word of mouth, especially for family owned businesses in small towns like Port Huron, and I would never recommend this place to anyone and I would deter anyone who is considering purchasing from here not to do so. Their customer service is non-existent.
