We are fans! The main pipe from our house to the city line was clogged, on a Friday before a huge storm was about to roll into the area. Called them in the morning and a plumber was out at the time they estimated. Price was super amazingly reasonable, and the work was done quickly. Living in Oceanside has some disadvantages, like finding out a lot of big name plumbers will not go to Oceanside because it's too far and gas is so expensive (cough Bill Howe cough). Weak. So when my water heater went out, there were few north county plumbers that were highly rated by various websites that were available on short notice before a holiday weekend. I found these guys through kudzu.com. Long story short, since parts for my heater were not available till the following week, I opted to get a new one. Quality workmanship and efficient. But bring deep pockets as they are not the cheapest around. I would use them again and recommend them. read more

Very expensive & don't trust the price bid. Not a happy experience - altho' the work my have been very good - I'm not a plumber & I can't tell. First, the salesman/plumber did not want to honor the coupon. Then he agreed to do that and the first thing he did next was to cut a pipe, tell me he had cut off an outside spigot and wanted $125 to repair it. He agreed he should have seen that it would need that extra work ahead of time, but offered to compromise by quitting the job there and then - leaving me with no water - if I did not want to pay the extra $125. I have lived 32 years in Texas before coming to California & in Texas I have NEVER been squeezed like that - even when the job involved more hidden work than expected. Twice we've used these guys and overall our experience has been very good. Diego came out once his brother, the second time. Very polite, professional, on time, etc. The receptionists are pleasant and do their best to get you the earliest appointment. My only issue is it cost an arm and leg just to change the water pressure regulator, & impulsively I had them do the work without doing my homework or comparison shopping. Of course I had buyers remorse, (my own fault) but I'm hoping that's the going rate for the parts/labor for that job. read more

In an attempt to fix a leaky water hose bib, my husband and I ended up twisting the pipe leading from the wall. We called North County Plumbing and Ronnie came out to fix it. He explained that we could not have removed the bib ourselves, because it was soldered onto the pipe. DUH! Ronnie was very helpful and explained to me how he was fixing the problem. He did mention he twisted the pipe back to it's original shape and we were lucky it did not create a hole. When I paid him, he was nice enough to give me a credit on the bill and also a $30.00 coupon to give to someone else as a referral. Two weeks later, I noticed the pipe could not hold the water pressure where it had been twisted and we had a major leak. I called North County Plumbing again and asked for Ronnie to come out. Again, Ronnie was nice enough to explain the procedure step by step, as I watched him the whole time. When I went to pay him and asked if I could use the coupon, he said "NO CHARGE!". But, to call him again if we had any other problem. Well, we are keeping our fingers crossed that we don't get another plumbing issue, but if we do...We'll be calling North County Plumbing for sure! read more

I called today at 8:30 am to get a quote to fix a water leak in my house. The lady on the phone told me that the service call would cost $70 to send a tech out to give me a quote. I told the lady that I had a coupon from a magazine for a "FREE in-Home Estimate" and that I needed to get a cost estimate to do the job. The lady then stated that this coupon is only good for an over the phone estimate and that if North County Plumbing would do the job they would subtract $70 from the final bill. Its pretty sad when a company advertises an offer and does not stand behind that offer. I call that the BAIT and SWITCH trick and most shady businesses use this tactic. A pipe in the garage sprung a leak. i saw that my neighbor had a NCP truck outside their home. i flagged down the plumber, Mike. it was after dark but he quickly came to my house to see what he could do. He turned the water off. He determined it was the pressure regulator. He made arrangements to come back first thing in the morning with the parts necessary for the repair. Horrible customer service and less than average workmanship. I called them on an emergancy call 9/25/12. I was having a big family dinner when my kitchen sink backed up and it was leaking under the sink as well. they sent a plumber and he was here for a half hour and snaked the drain and said i was good to go. This cost $175. A week later to the day, my sink backed up again and that's when I discovered that for the whole week my pipes (or something) was still leaking. I called on 10/9/12 and was told someone would call me right back. I got a call the next day at which point I was told it was not a warrented service and I would incure another charge if they came back. I was told it was my fault for putting food scraps in the garbage disposal. At this point I had a bad feeling and little faith, so I called a recommended plumber. He came out and assest the source of the problem within 5 minutes. I had a huge crack in the garbage disposal that was causing the leak. I didn't want to use them ever again, so I said thanks but no thanks. He then reluctently offered be a $50 refund, which I un-enthousiastically agreed to becuase I felt that would be the best he would do for me. 10/23/12 I called to ask where my check was and I was told it was in accounting and would take a few weeks. 11/7/12 I spoke with Deanna and she siad the check was going out that friday. 11/16/12 I called and Terri said she was writting it up right away and sending it out. At that point I asked for thier address and had my husband pick up the check. To summerize, I felt I had to grovel for the measly $50 refund, when I really should have recieved a full refund for an obvious oversight that any decent plumber should have found. read more

Double check pricing when you call for an appointment. I did not. I checked the pricing on the website and scheduled an appointment. When the technician gave me the quote it was quite a bit higher than I was expecting. I called the office to inquire and was told that the website prices hadn't been updated, "sorry" slightly annoying but since I had waited two days to get the problem fixed I went ahead and paid for it. Just ask up front in case they don't get around to updating their website any time soon. read more

We have used to plumbing companies, one of them being North County Plumbing. They replaced a water heater last December. When they forgot to enter our appointment in their calendar, they first tried to see if another company could come out. When they couldn't find another company to come out quickly, they managed to come out. Eric replaced the water heater, quickly and he was friendly. Yesterday, I called them for a leaking under my bathroom sink. They came the next day, (Today). Eric showed up again. He removed the clog and replaced parts for fix the leak. He was always smiling. I've used North County Plumbing on a handful of occasions but have only had success on the first try on one occasion. They always fix the issues that are left behind (some bigger than others), and are always friendly but I have to say that I can't risk any more mix ups. Here's a list: Leaky outdoor valve- Fixed on first try Leaky shower pan- Found leak so we hired them to install a bathtub Installed bathtub- Installed uneven (tile was then installed around this which is another story). They fixed the problem with the tub being uneven but in turn had goofed up the overflow piping. They fixed the overflow piping so we thought we were good to go and had tile reinstalled. During a bath we find out that the drain piping is leaking through our downstairs ceiling. In correcting the tub, the drain piping didn't fit right so it leaked. They cut out my ceiling and installed all new piping. They paid for someone to re-drywall, refunded some of my money and gave me a gift certificate for future service (Don't use the certificate. It's a trap!). In all, this took six weeks to rectify from job start to finish Leaky valve under sink- fixed that and I had them replace my under sink valves in the other bathrooms as they were all original to a 35 year old house. The original leak caused damage that resulted in a need for a bathroom remodel after extensive drying of the subfloor. Fixed valve leaked once on our newly dried floor so they fixed it. Leaked again so they fixed it. How many times do I have to call? At the end of the day, this company stands by their work and they will fix problems that arise. They will make sure that the job is done so I would say that they are a company of integrity. I'm not unreasonable and realize that there are issues that come up with plumbing even after a repair. With that said, I should have learned from my bathtub fix that a $25 gift certificate won't replace the hours that I've spent working with the plumbers at NCP. read more

Saturday morning i saw water leaking from a 6 year old water heater. I called NCP based on reviews here and a $125 discount coupon in a magazine. The answering service said they would call the on-call tech who was then to call me. I'll be darned, Jose called me right away, got info from the bad water heater to see if it was still under warranty (it wasn't). He told me the out the door price. I aasked when he could install, he said the same day just a few hours from my call. He showed up on time, was polite and had a truck with everything we would need. About 2.5 hours later, the job was done and the area cleaned up. Jose knows his stuff. I don't know that I got the best deal in town, but it was a saturday and the response time was great as is the quality of the work so it is worth it to me. I will use them again. read more

Do not question my diligence, the only thing in question at this point is your integrity. Since you are in fact questioning my diligence I decided to make yet another call to Home Advisor only this time I spoke with customer solutions, which I advise you to do as well and this time get your story straight. They informed me of your call with them and said you told Randal you tried calling me 2 times for the appt but were unable to contact me so you wish for a credit for the lead. Funny though, how could you have possibly tried to call me twice if you told me you had no record of me and none of my info OR my phone number? Furthermore, Home Advisor verified that the only company to show up in their system on that Friday was in fact NCP, so there was a ZERO possibility of them putting me in contact with any other company but in fact, NCP. They also further verified that my information was in fact sent to you and it was "ACCEPTED." When they submit a customers info to you it shows on their end as "Pending" "Accepted" or "Rejected" I am going to stand by my review because I believe it is a fair one. The false story you gave to Home advisor further assures me that this review is earned and people should know what type of problems they could face should they use your company. read more

We had a leak in a pipe in our crawlspace. NCP made an appointment the same day, and Mike arrived right on time. He went under the house and made the fix. I tend to be a worrier, and he went under and double-checked the repair to confirm it was holding steady. Called based on a friend's referral and had 2 faucet lines moved. He did a good job but tried to charge me an extra $70 to replace some old parts with some new ones. These were parts that he had to put on anyway to complete the job, and I had already bought the new ones, so it was literally no extra work, but he insisted on charging extra. I voiced my issue with this practice to the company's owner, Deanna, who called me and promised to make things right, which I really appreciated. However, she never followed up and sent me the refund as promised, despite repeated phone calls to her. She would always say that the check was in the mail and should have arrived, but 3 months later, it's still not here. She never once followed up with me; I always had to call her. I can't trust a company who tried to price gouge me and then doesn't follow up on their word. read more

Anyways, I had time to do some research, and North County Plumbing had the best installation price and the most cordial and knowledgeable receptionist/scheduler/manager, Deanna. As things turned out, the installation of my new hot water heater was way more troublesome than expected, but my technician, Jose, worked really hard to solve the installation issues. I ended up paying more than I originally budgeted, but the outcome was excellent, and I am happy with the hard work and effort Jose put into my job. Jose is a cheerful, creative problem solver!
