I would NEVER go anywhere else. It starts with Cesar and continues to be fantastic service and selection. His installers are over the top professional and courteous. My biggest regret is that we didn't get our motorized shades from them originally. We decided many years ago to go with a lower price than Hunter Douglas and as they saying goes "you get what you pay for". Now after replacing the old ones we are over the top happy with everything. The Hunter Douglas blinds broke twice. NCB replaced them since they were warranteed, but I had to pay an installation fee each time. The third time the manager placed the order with incorrect mechanism and will not admit her error and insists I agreed to mechanism I knew I could not reach to operate. read more

Great quality, installation, and customer service. When things got a bit confused with the Hunter Douglas order, the manager and owner, Cesar, intervened and fully addressed the issue. His customer service was excellent. They installed several Provenance Woven Wood Shades from Hunter Douglas and two HD plantation shutters. The service was very good. We were a bit sad however to find out from Cesar that they are no longer providing draperies design and installation, we had quite a few draperies we wanted to replace with them however we learned from Cesar they are no longer providing this service. read more

Amazing service and staff going beyond all our expectations. We wanted our shutters replaced as they warped within a few years of installation. We waited 9 years to finally replace them. North County was the only company that suggested in contacting Hunter Douglas to petition them to replace our shutters. The other companies gave us a very expensive quote. North county informed us HD would replace all our shutters at no charge and we now have beautiful installed shutters. I don't usually take time out to send a negative review, but I think it's important for people to know that I received a quote for the same blinds at almost half the price. Also, their rep was 2 hours late for our appt. Also, he told me Hunter Douglas only puts wands on the left side which is very inconvenient for us as our blinds will be behind our couch. When I questioned it he said that the company just changed their policy on it when they changed the blinds configuration. That's not true because I'm getting the wands where I want with another company. Why lie? read more

Unprofessional service. I contacted North County Blinds and requested a bid for 3 window blinds. We arranged a date and time and the sales rep assigned was alex. He showed up and him along with my Wife agreed on two types of blinds each made by a different company. He provided a quote for the first type of blinds but said his "computer" would not allow him to submit a quote for the second type of blind. The second brand was cheaper. He stated that once he got back to his office he would send us the quote. He never sent the follow on quote and after two days I email and left voice messages asking alex to contact us regarding the second quote. He never responded. We wasted an afternoon with a rep who was unprofessional. I contacted North County Blinds and explained what had happened and I was told they could send out another rep. Over the past 15 years, I've done thousands of dollars' worth of business with this company. Three years ago, they installed 2 motorized blinds. Last December, they installed 3 more motorized blinds. Last week, one of the blinds installed in 2021 stopped working. I pulled out the battery and took it to the store and asked them how to recharge it. Jennifer, the sales rep (owner?) told me I needed a special charger unit. I informed her that they never gave me a charger, either in 2021 or in 2023. She told me that I ordered one and paid for one. "That may be so," I told her, "but you never delivered it." She told me that I should have told them back then; now it was too late. On top of that, I would have to pay $95 to have them send me a new charger. I couldn't believe she wouldn't make the slightest effort to resolve this problem amicably. It turns out Hunter Douglas makes a single charge unit that's considerably less expensive than the double charger unit. This would have worked fine. But no, it was her way ($95 up front) or the highway. Now I have to deal with Hunter Douglas directly, because I will never, ever spend a single dime with this firm again. I ran businesses for 40 years, and I learned long ago that it never pays to be rude and uncompromising with your customers, especially when you're the one who's screwed up. This firm must have oodles of high ticket customers, because obviously my thousands of dollars worth of business mean nothing to them. read more

The reason I went with North County Blinds instead of buying cheaper blinds from Home Depot was the Full Warranty I was told covered parts and labor. Absolutely horrible. Would give zero stars if I could and would definitely not recommend to anyone. Marti was our salesperson and it seems like she was more focused on getting us to spend the $25,000 that we did on blinds as opposed to actually telling us what we were buying. I've had to hang curtains over the blinds because of how bright of a halo is let in the we weren't warned about and the blinds in our master bedroom have a cord just hanging there and the person installing them told us we would have to buy an extension cord to plug it into the outlet. We were never told there would be a cord hanging from the top because if we had been told that we would not have ordered these curtains. For what we spent it looks ridiculous and we are so unhappy with the results. Wish we went with someone else. read more

I would be very cautious when purchasing from this company, especially if you're on a budget! I just don't understand how a company can treat not just customers, but people in general like this. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is on a budget, because unless you're spending top dollar, you won't get much help and attention from this team. There's plenty of companies that would be willing to work with you regardless of how much commission they make from you. When I told the sales-rep (her name is Marti), that our budget was $6,000 Max, it's like she started to disrespect us because she didn't want to waste her time with a low commission sale. We were referred to this company by another client who spent 3X more than what we were planning to spend, so I could tell we were being written off as "cheap". Regardless of our budget, we're still people who shouldn't get treated the way we did !! (READ BELOW) When we first met with Marti we told her our budget was less than $6,000 for our entire house (I think this is pretty reasonable for a 1600sqft place). We then told her what our budget was, and of course the first brands she showed us were the "Horizon" brands.. and after spending basically our entire meeting looking at these options, the next day we received some quotes and it was DOUBLE what we told her our budget was! Talk about some sales tactics.. Iv been in sales myself for awhile and as soon as Marti (sales-rep) could tell I was not falling for some of her sales tactics, she stopped making eye contact with me and only talked to my wife (who can be easily persuaded at times), especially since we're a little new to this process. Since we were new we had a lot of questions, and Marti snapped with a few responses, sometimes making my wife feel like she was stupid for asking. I mean this is our first time going through this process and way she talked to us isn't a way a customer should be treated, let alone another person. We were told by an interior designer to add short drapes to the sides of the roller shades that we were looking at to give it a decorative finish. So we asked Marti for the window measurements as she was literally measuring the window in front of us during our meeting. Marti snapped at my wife and said "No, the measurements are my property and will not be shared".. Then she turned around and kept measuring and didn't look back at us. At first I thought she was kidding, but she was completely serious!! I mean its measurements of windows in OUR house that we can take ourselves, but the way she responded was just disrespectful. We then respectfully messaged Marti that we didn't appreciate how we were being treated and that we decided we didn't feel comfortable moving forward with her.. her reply was "sorry I didn't meet your requirements, best of luck-Marti". I just don't know why she wouldn't at least apologize or recognize how she treated us. When the owner was reached out to about this situation, she did not even give us the light of day to explain how we were treated by Marti. She mentioned that Marti had already explained everything. She said "if they want to replace our cheap blinds every two years then we should just go with a cheaper company like 3-day blinds". As an owner of a company, how could you talk like that about any customer? Again, I just don't understand how a company can treat not just customers, but people in general like this. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is on a budget, because unless you're spending top dollar, you won't get much help and attention from this team. Why would you go for the vinyl shutters made in China with higher price than wood shutters made in California? After reeceiving quotes from 2 other local companies, I decided to give the female designer from NCB, Cindy Savage, the business because she is a woman. NCB, however, has made it impossible for me to do business with. They asked to pay 50% of total costs upfront on the spot but couldn't tell me exactly when they have shutters ready. The minute they did, Michael Collins emailed and called demanding me to pay the 50% balance cost upfront 48 hours before he would confirm installation date and also threatened me if I did not respond to his demand and timeline. Here is my 2 cents worth experienced-share: First of all, Michale didn't thank me for being a returning customer but acting as if he's doing me a big favor. Second, I gave Cindy the business because she's a female designer while I know I can get same price or less for wood shutters made in California by 2 other local companies that I met prior to meeting Cindy! Third, I don't see where I committed to paying middle man 100% cost  upfront before I can see Hunter Douglas vinyl products made in China. Fourth, the state of California limits advanced payment at the time of contract signing to 10% of total estimated job cost or $1,000 whichever amount is lower! All payments thereafter are supposed to be made for the work performed or materials delivered to the job site. Fifth, last time the charge for removing existing blinds and placing them to other windows was $10 each but Michael demanded a charge of $175 for less than 10 windows which is ridiculous. Finally, as a consumer I expect NCB to use the respectful tone with customers and do the right thing that they are legally bound. If they had done just that I would not have gone to Yelp to share my story so that consumers aware of the pros and cons when interacting with NCB. read more

I thought their small shop had a great selection with a well-informed and knowledgeable staff. Corinne, our sales rep, did a great job of listening to our needs, coming out to our house with a large selection of samples, and giving us suggestions without being pushy or trying to upsell us. Let me save you some time people... First off, This company was the first company that I called for a quote for some windows and sliders that I needed blinds for. Then, because my husband insists on getting "it cheaper"...I had at least 4 other business out to compare products and quotes. What I learned is, nobody online or storefront is going to give you the quality and service of North County Blinds. Nobody! Unfortunately we had a very expensive concrete issue that came up in the middle of everything and this changed my budget. Fred and Jared arrived at 1100 (the window, pun notwithstanding, was set for noon-1430), with a courtesy call at 1030. My dad and I were pleasantly surprised, as the earlier time was better for us. They proceeded to quickly and expertly installed Hunter-Douglas Blinds on seven windows and a patio window. They look great and these guys were fast! they were done before noon. They removed the old 30 year old blinds as well. We have two additional windows that will need to be done (we decided to hit the rooms that are publicly visible for now), and will be having Fred and Jared do those as well. I called North County Blinds to give me an idea of what to do with a very large bi-fold shutter door I had in my family room for over 20 years. It was sagging from the extreme weight, and dragging on the floor. I had a few other companies come in to give me estimates on replacing the door as they all told me it could not be repaired. Due to the integrity of Corine from North County Blinds she put us in touch with Alan, the company shutter repair specialist. I can't give a more glowing review to Alan, Corine and the company they work for as my repair was done to perfection. My old poorly fitting bi-fold door is much better that new. The process of purchasing a HunterDouglas honeycomb cellular shades for our living room and dining room and blackout roller shade for a bedroom was good and their installation exceptional. Rebecca showed us styles, materials and colors that are compatible with our décor and meet the requirement of allowing in light in our living room while filling an extremely large window with a single blind to maintain our privacy. Other manufactures could not satisfy the requirement of a single bottom-up top-down blind for our very large window. Jered installed the window covering quickly and left our home exactly as when he came in except for the new window coverings. Why do we rate service by Jerad exceptional? My wife had misgivings about the effect of total light blocking roller shade replacing a sunlight muting blind on the room. Jerad suggested using both by extending the new roller shade away from the wall and original blind. The result proved fantastic we use the sheer blind during the day and the light blocking shade to sleep. HunterDouglas final inspection failed for the lift mechanism's cord pulleys were not installed correctly. Using my Allen wrenches, Jered was able to correct the issue without returning the blinds to the store or manufacturer. Their warranty of only 2 months for labor dropped my rating to 4 stars. I expected a year or two perhaps for the life of the blinds. If it were not for the exceptional installation the review would be 3-stars at best, read more

The motorized curtains in video room are great! A couple of hiccups occurred but Dave the installers was right on top of the issue and came back to make the curtains just perfect.......... We have had an amazingly good experience with North Coast Blind Co from start to finish. We went to the store to browse and were shown some things, had a chat, and felt immediately that the salesperson/owner had a lot of knowledge. Because finding a time to come out was proving difficult, they offered to come to our condo right then. They brought samples, measured, and we ordered right on the spot. The blinds were supposed to take 4 weeks and came during the first part of our shelter in place orders. The installers, Fred and Jarred, called and we were able to arrange a safe installation.
