The office also has an Octo-something machine that can do an exam without dilating the eyes. YES PLEASE. It was so easy and pain free. The doctor was very friendly and laid back. We chatted about personal stuff while she did the exam, which was nice and easy. We talked about my vision and health as well and she provided knowledgeable insight. The Visionworks staff was also nice. They helped my husband find a great pair of prescription safety glasses, which is something he's wanted for 15 years!

Anyway, like I said, this would probably be a decent place to go for your average run of the mill transaction, but be aware that once your payment has been processed, it's staying with the eye center, whether you like your glasses or not.

Easy parking lot, spacious well-lit front room, and greetings with smiles using the name listed for the appointment. Such a great atmosphere. We were called back right on appointment time- no waiting around watching your time tick away. Jackie was amazing with my son's pre-appointment exam, letting him know what she was doing before she did it. Dr. Wiersma was professional and to-the-point; I had full confidence immediately and appreciated his time presenting options and answering questions. He took us to the front room and Natalie helped us from there. She was friendly and professional. We never once felt forgotten or unattended to, which happens as you wait and wait somewhere. Also, a line-itemed receipt was reviewed with me and presented. Five stars for the communication, cleanliness, and professionalism by the entire team. Perfect experience. Both of my children left with huge smiles and excited about how "fun" it was at the Eye Doctor. Thank you, Broad View - Berea!

HOWEVER, when I went to pay my charges I was informed there would be a 2.5 surcharge for using a credit card!!!!! I cannot believe this policy. we have been told since covid to use a card to pay, and now this business CHARGES FOR THE USE OF A CREDIT CARD!!!!!! They also require test for $39.95 due to Covid. it is NOT AN OPTION!!!! I am beyond angry and although I hate to leave Dr. Knapp, I will if this continues.

I called ahead and explained my husband might be a few minutes late for his 3:00 p.m. appointment. I was told as long as he arrived by 3:15, he would still be seen. He arrived at exactly 3:15, but the receptionist was not only rude -- she was dismissive and arrogant. She never looked up from her computer while telling him he was late and the doctor was fully booked. No attempt to reschedule was made, and the tone was anything but professional. As a Vietnam veteran, my husband deserves to be treated with dignity. After years of 5-star experiences, we'll now be looking elsewhere for our eye care. I can no longer recommend this office or Dr. White in good faith. We've gone to this office for years. I had my cataract surgery here and always gave glowing reviews. But this last visit changed everything.

I called Dr. Pham's office to see if they would either give me a sample size of lenses or allow me to purchase a small order of my lenses. The receptionist said that with a copy of my current prescription, they could help me out. When I called to confirm they had received the Rx from my current doctor, I was told Dr. Pham was refusing to do anything for me because I wasn't planning to order a full supply of lenses directly from their office. I then went in to pick up the prescription they were faxed so I could take it down the street to another office who was willing to be more than helpful, and they told me the prescription was on his computer and he wasn't in the office. Coincidence? For a local, "family" practice, I would expect kinder and more understanding service. I literally needed 2 pairs of daily lenses and you know there are a million samples they were given for free in the back office. If you're looking for a doctor who won't waste his time helping others and is planning to hold your prescription hostage, this is definitely the doctor for you.

It started out at their Lakewood location when I got my first pair of glasses that broke almost immediately. Fine. We reorder a new pair. I go in 3 weeks later to check in on the contacts. They haven't even reordered the glasses. So we try this again. Get the glasses 4 weeks later but they break again. Request a brand new pair. Have to go to their Westlake office with larger selection. Charge me $50 for a "refitting" despite the fact they sold me crappy glasses. Wait another month for the new glasses. I call the Westlake office a month later and they apparently just came in and "are here for pickup." Go to the Westlake office and find out they are actually at the Lakewood office. At the Lakewood office and they say their opticians are very busy and we will need time to adjust the frames. By this point, my whole afternoon has been shot. I explain to the person that I am pretty frustrated after having been at this for over an hour and if they can get to things quicker. See on the opticians desk that the lady at the front desk messaged her on teams saying I needed a refitting and had a "huge attitude." Some of these things were not their fault. A lot of them are. I will not be coming back next year.
