Wow! What a find. We were just passing through on our way back to Southern California and stumbled on this place. I must tell you they probably have everything you need. Mainly organic, fresh, well prepared items with lots of local produce too. I thought our local markets in San Diego had everything, but I was wrong. Found the best grass-fed, organic, whole chocolate milk there and that's no easy task. In a world of low-fat, homogenized, sugar filled, additive laced products here at home, I left the store very happy. Those who live in Eureka should know how lucky they are to have this place within reach. read more

Such an amazing place to do groceries and buy lot of stuff! I love the beauty area, amazing organic brands and lot of variety. The personal is super nice and friendly and helped me to choose the things i need. The products in the decoration area are kinda expensive but it seems are good quality. My husband found this on a map for tourists, since we are tourist we got the map from a motel we were staying. It is like a bigger version of Rainbow Grocery in SF. It is as expensive as Rainbows and Whole Food, which was surprising considering cost of living is much less here. We got a few things for late lunch and everything was good. It's nice that they have lots of vegetarian choices. We would go back there if we ever come back to Eureka. read more

Very, very nice co-op. This place was WAY bigger than I was expecting and it was a pleasant surprise. And what i loved most about this place is the fact they keep the prices very reasonable, unlike the co-op we have back home.. Also had a yummy sandwich here when we visited. Been coming here for a couple years now. I love all of their products. Always satisfied. Employees are caring. On busy days they get distracted but always there if you need any sort of help. Meat and veggies are great to get here. Price is fair. Not to expensive. You can get good deals there if you know how to shop. Eat clean!!! read more

Be still my hippy heart! Essential store to stop by and check out if you are visiting the area. This would definitely be a place I would do my weekly shopping if I lived here as a local. Nice selections of organic produce, lots of dairy options, and fun selection of hand made products. They also have an extension section of bulk nuts, grains, oils, and honey. The only drawback is that some of the nuts they sell taste old so I would recommend taste-testing before purchase. read more

Both Eureka and Arcata Co-ops are great stores. The prices not particularly low, but the freshness quality and selection of organic veggies and other items I need like non-wheat bread etc. makes it worth it. The co-op has a good selection of organic and natural foods. I mostly stop in for lunch. The salad bar is rather sparse and I prefer the salad and hot bar at Eureka Naturals. There is a great variety of soups each day though and I love the Garlic Lovers Pasta Salad! read more

Love the co-op! Staff is hard working, friendly and the checkout folks always say something to make me smile. It is a pleasure shopping at the Eureka co-op, I enjoy spending time moseying up and down the aisles looking at all the wonderful, healthy items for sale! The produce is always well-stocked and fresh. I must share my first-hand observation of what happened with "Honor B." below. Her review should be flagged for being dishonest. I witnessed her eating sushi in three different check out lines, and then she went to the seating area WITHOUT paying for it. She did not have a receipt, as it was not found in the trash as she claimed. The co-op staff was courteous and polite. One of the persons in her group, who happened to be African American, was very rude and yelled at the co-op staff. Her story is completely false, because I saw the whole thing! Honor B. should have been arrested for shoplifting. The co-op is the OPPOSITE of racist. They have staff from all cultural backgrounds who do good work everyday. Co-op staff, you all rock. I work a lot and barely ever have time to make myself a sandwich or a home cooked meal so I am always willing to spend an extra penny for quality food. The deli is amaaaaaaaazing as well as the bakery. The soups are seriously the tastiest soups I have ever had. I can't believe I ever wasted my time and money on safeway soups. The smoked tofu is the best thing that's ever happened to my taste buds and the smoked cheddar from Loleta Cheese Factory tastes heaven. They make this garlic lovers macaroni salad that is to die for. The employees are always kind, especially the sushi makers and sandwich makers. read more

They have a really big store but it seems that it does not have a lot of stuff. Take the best stuff from winco and put it in a fancy box and here is the coop. It is very expensive. Don't expect to feed your family unless you are hippy elite. The stuff they do have is well stocked and clean. The produce is in good shape. The help is so-so. I would go somewhere else. read more

Overpriced on everything very rude staff customer non service is what the help desk sign should say! The cashier picked their nose while checking us out and touched our food. The bathroom was filthy and when we told the Service desk people the attitude was if you don't like it go home. Me and my wife have shopped here only a few times but after the mistreatment we got the other day, and having the workers make fun of a customer in front of several other customers we can do without this place. read more

Maybe it's that they are in shock about how overly priced everything is, but golly-gee, I do say, the cashier's are slower than molasses! They have this static look on their faces while they snail glide the five things I can afford over the infrared light, while maybe remembering to ask me if I have a coveted membership number to the store which gets you 5% off like once a month?? Big freakin' deal! Please move over while I bow down to you, my new higher power. And please, if I ask you the bathroom code, please know it. I'm sure you poop at some point during the day too. Don't get me wrong, I like the CO-OP, they just make it so easy to make fun of, what with their pretentious attitudes, $10 bleach and $6 1/2 n' 1/2. But I go there on occasion for salad bar, soup or dog food. It's fun to watch everyone be full of themselves in this small town, I'm still getting a kick outta that, so keep on keepin' on, obviously you're doing nothing wrong. This is a favorite spot of ours to pick up a sweet treat. Our go-to items are the chocolate dipped coconut macaroons, and the Honey Mama's chocolate, sweetened with honey (no refined sugar). They also make delicious sandwiches, so it's a great lunch spot as well. read more

Basically, this store is extremely expensive. You should accept that going in. It's like Whole Foods, but with a fraction of the selection. You pay more because you are into the whole thing. Also, frankly the member benefits are virtually worthless. It isn't really run like other member owned co-ops, but more like a regular market where you get a small discount on one day a month. You, as a member, have no special powers or benefits. Recent labor disputes highlight that this is more of a profit driven enterprise with membership (Like Costco) than a true co-op. But hey, it's all we have up here. The Arcata store deli could up its game, it's like a salad bar with a hot case where you can buy a soggy hot sandwich for $8. Meat counter guys are not always very friendly, it's like you are bothering them. But we put up with it all because we are into the co-op idea right? read more

This is like the local equivalent of a Whole Foods. I wouldn't come here to do every day grocery shopping but great place to find some interesting items. Great chocolate selection from local chocolate makers that actually cost less then at their own shop. They also have friendly robots working the register. read more

THe only reason this gets 3 stars and not 4 is the prices are through the roof. Sure the quality is top notch for such a small community but come on man I got bills to pay too. And not to blame them, it is just another example how corperate consolidation and the big agro-corps with their factory farms have made bad food cheap at the expence of making good food expensive with no help from the corupt politicians. Any-woo the quality of products: fruits, veggies, cheeses and meats are excellent and I find myself ocationally shopping here for meats when I do eat them. Costermer service is Eeh.. (shrug) and all the rest of the stuff they sell besides the fresh stuff is not worth the money especially the wines but this is not a wine region so a lack good taste in wine is to be expected. That being said, bring down the prices a bit and I'll shop every week. read more

We recently moved to the area and became members of the co-op. We love the to-go food and the amazing gluten free options. I recently went into the co-op and I when I approached the register I placed the basket on the conveyor, the cashier continued her conversation with the other employee glancing at me occasionally. After a few moments of standing there, waiting to be attended to, she told me that I needed to empty my basket; she would then help me after I emptied the contents of this basket onto the conveyor belt. I paid $45 dollars for a bag of food and was treated poorly. I had someone who was working in the isles that after asking where the eggs were approached me, asking why it is that patrons have such a hard time finding things, insinuating that we should just know based on consumer numbers. I hope that they will amend their customer service to something more welcoming and consistent with other grocers and co-ops. read more

The first time I went there I saw that Jalapeños were 5.48 A POUND!! That is insane. The most I have ever paid is a dollar a pound. This place was outrageously priced and the produce was not even that fresh. read more

How impressive, a little town with such a nice supermarket. It's like Whole Foods but at Safeway prices and minus all the hype. Staff was competent and helpful. Holy Mother of Co-ops! This place is damn near a religious experience. If I ever lived in Eureka, I would retreat here to escape from the grungy, frightening city outside. This place needs to learn a thing or two about customer service! This was my third and finale time here. Every time I walk into the co-op, I hear staff complaining about their pay, hours and the union. I had to walk over to look up the price of the plums I wanted to buy because the clerk was not sure where their fruit was at. Also please make sure you label the fruit properly. You had a Catalina labeled as a Yummy Rosa Plum which is a Red Plum. read more

This is one amazing co-op. I was very surprised by the size and selection offered. The staff was also very friendly. This is so much better than my local co-op where I shop in San Francisco. The prices are substantially lower than my usual place and the selection is better. The coffee isle is epic, you have to see the selection of high quality coffee for a reasonable price. I got a great organic and fair-trade coffee for $2 less per pound than at home. I also picked up some beautiful produce and a delicious baguette. The store is also very clean and modern. Not your standard co-op. If I lived in Eureka, I would shop here all the time. I will be back on my trip back south, I am already planning our trip around stopping for snacks here. read more

Lots of Local, Organic products both fresh and preserved to choose from. Casual, friendly, and you don't need to be a member. The best fresh and sustainable made sushi as far as grocery sushi goes, just as good as any restaurant in town. Try Becks Bread, find a local beer and wine, grab some local chocolate.... read more

Some products are pricey, but a great selection. While they didn't have the deodorant in that I was looking for, they managed to order it in while I was still in town. Thumbs up! (My coworkers will be thanking you too, btw) My wife was so entranced by the chicken gumbo from their deli, she *almost* made love to me. The store is very large and modern with a huge selection of just about everything one could want in a grocery store. They make a special effort to use locally sourced products, and that includes Oregon. It is not a worker-owned co-operative but a community members co-operative. read more

I love this place! Chicken food for your chickens and rabbit food for your rabbits right up front! Lots of SF/GF/DF options! Sushi! Yummy juice bar. Yes it is a bit pricey but these places tend to be. I didn't feel like I had to starve myself when I went in there! Yippee! read more
