Good quality steaks, but the prices are not significantly cheaper than downtown steakhouses. The steaks are prime. We split a bone-in NY Strip, rare, and enjoyed the flavor. No ridiculous charring of the exterior, either. $76. Mashed potato sides were excellent as well. We split the beet salad and liked that very much. Wine list has a nice mix of Old World and New World wines. It tilts into the low 3 figures pretty quickly but there was a Chateau Poitevin 2016 which was 2 figures and superb. Desserts are huge - chocolate cake and carrot cake are both downtown steakhouse sized. There is a nice bar in the front room with high tops, and then a large dining room in back - almost cavernous. Restrooms are not updated, a relic of its sports bar past. It would be nice if they stayed open long enough to rehab them and make them properly accessible. No steps to get in to the restaurant though. We were here on a Wednesday night, had the place to ourselves. Apparently that's because they switched from OpenTable to Yelp reservations. If you want a good steak without the hassle of travelling to River North or the Loop, give them a try. TLDR - food doesn't live up to the price point. We popped in here before a play down the street. They've taken over the old Rocks space, which was quite large. Personally I would've found a way to divide up the main dining space with an option for semi private dining. There are a lot of tables in the room and while the decor is nice, it feels sterile. We went for an early dinner, so I wasn't shocked that it wasn't very crowded. Service throughout was attentive, it felt like there was always someone new checking on us. We ordered the beet salad to start and I got the seafood risotto while my husband got a steak and the brussel sprout side. They were out of the beet salad, so we pivoted to Caesar. The salad was fine, but I wish they had cut up the romaine into bite size pieces, so we didn't have to. They had 3 different options during bread service. The sourdough was fantastic. The seafood on my risotto was cooked perfectly, but the seafood was over salted. It seemed a bit spendy at $58. My husband found his steak cooked to medium rare, but dry and salty. We suspect it was over salted before cooking. Overall, this fell flat with us. If you're going to charge River North prices, the food needs to be executed better. read more

Let me start by saying that the service was amazing. Our waiter, Peter, was very attentive and the bus boys very discreet when they would drop off or remove items from the table. Decide is gorgeous with exposed brick walls and subtle lighting. Bread was brought to our table and we chose which bread we wanted and it was left at our table with a delicious herbed butter. Although it's a steakhouse, we wanted to eat a bit lighter so I had the grilled scallops and my husband ordered the Chilean sea bass. Both were amazing and came with their own delicious sides (pea purée, asparagus, potatoes). My husband let them know, when he made to reservation, that we were celebrating my 60th birthday and they had sprinkled rose petals on the table. Went with my partner for date night. Place is new and just got their liquor license according to the server. Staff is friendly and nice. You can tell this place is new and small things need to be worked out. We order the oysters Rockefeller they were good. We split a bone in ribeye. The one thing I will say, this was a great value in my opinion, not sure if this is for every ribeye cut but, it was a thick cut and half the bone, which if you go to steak house, the bone is half the weight of the ribeye. Steak it self was delicious perfectly seasoned with a good crust. We got the lobster mac and cheese and the truffle potato's, both were very good, personally we think it lacked a little salt but, that's a good thing. We had an excellent neighborhood experience dining at North center prime. The waitstaff were lovely. The room was casual while maintaining the white tablecloth vibe. The dinner started with warm bread and amazingly good butter. The strawberry goat cheese salad was delicious. Our streaks were perfectly cooked. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at North Center Prime! We ordered the carpaccio, filet with crabmeat Oscar enhancement, picanha, mashed potatoes and mushrooms as sides. Everything was very good and our meat was cooked perfectly. I like a rare steak and was impressed by the sear my filet still had, but the mashed potatoes and crabmeat really stole the show. We came here for my birthday and had such an amazing experience from start to finish. The service was wonderful from the hostesses to the waitstaff, everyone was so hospitable and attentive. We started with the foie gras, bone marrow, beet salad, and lobster bisque, and honestly every single appetizer was excellent. The foie gras was our favorite, but there wasn't one dish we wouldn't recommend. For entrées, we ordered the Delmonico ribeye with mashed potatoes and mushrooms on the side and the scallops. The ribeye was phenomenal- I definitely recommend for those who like a highly marbled cut. We're all so glad we gave this place a try and will definitely be back! We were so excited to eat here; A non chain local steak place! But sadly it was a bit disappointing. We had a reso for a Monday night. It still took awhile to be seated despite only 4 other tables in the place. The service was mostly friendly but not very good. So I just asked for a reposado paloma and our server said they don't have grapefruit juice or soda. The menu is a little boring. We ordered dessert to go. Our server told us they were out of cheesecake (which was fine as we didn't want cheesecake) and we ordered chocolate cake and key lime pie. I tried to give this feedback privately by sending two direct messages to the restaurant, but unfortunately, I never received a response--which has been just as disappointing as the meal itself. I took my boyfriend out for an early Father's Day dinner and we were excited to try a new steakhouse in the neighborhood, especially one outside of River North. We had a 7 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Bread was brought quickly, but the butter was oddly textured--almost as if it had been left in a hot kitchen too long and then put back in the fridge--and there were no butter knives. We chalked it up to new-restaurant kinks. We ordered several appetizers. The escargot was warm but not hot, and the small puff pastry on top made it hard to eat. The steak tartare was overpowered by arugula and lacked basic seasoning like salt and pepper, which wasn't on the table. The Caesar salad was good, but we had asked for it to be split and instead had to request extra plates. The oysters were the highlight of the starters. We finished the apps fairly quickly, but then waited over 30 minutes for the 28oz ribeye. After my boyfriend asked, the server said the kitchen was backed up. It arrived about five minutes later--uncut and with no plates. We asked for it to be sliced in the kitchen and turned to the sides: potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Without getting into detail, they were completely inedible and we sent them back. The steak returned, sliced, and was a real disappointment. It was a poor cut, with more than half of it just fat. There were maybe three or four edible pieces total. By that point, we skipped dessert and just wanted to leave. We genuinely wanted to enjoy this meal and support a new local spot, and I had hoped to offer this feedback directly. But since my messages went unanswered, I'm sharing it here in hopes that the restaurant takes it seriously and makes improvements. We tried this neighborhood steak house based on a freind's recommendation. We were very pleased by the food and service. Our waiter also doubled as the bartender. He gave us recommendations and service was very attentive. We started with the shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were very good and nice size, and extra horseradish and tobasco was brought to our table. We split the porterhouse. Steak was perfectly cooked. Our sides were brocolini, which was very good and a large portion, and mashed potatoes, which were tasty but a little soupy. We took two deserts to go, carrot cake and cheese cake, and both were very good. Wine was reasonably priced. They were out of the IPA on tap--beer section could be better. Didn't ask for drinks or if we had any questions, and wouldn't let us order appetizers until we had our full order prepared. We ordered our steak medium and it came back medium rare, when they took it back they just burnt the outside and the inside was still rare. The food is classic steakhouse which I love. They have everything on the menu from oysters, soups, steak, seafood and delicious desserts! They are very new but service was good, particularly the owner, who was very attentive. The space large with tables nicely spaced out. The prices are very reasonable for a steakhouse without missing the quality. It is BYOB for now, so check it out soon if you really want to enjoy a steakhouse night but the not price. I live in the neighborhood and was feeling cautious about dining here since it's a steakhouse and I would be paying comparatively up for a relative unknown establishment and relative to other local establishments. I can say my entire meal was really good! First the menu is compelling, we had a hard time deciding. Crab cake or shrimp dejonghe or oysters Rockefeller, wedge salad, chilean seabass, NY strip, bone in ribeye and so on. We ordered the crab cake, beet salad, wild mushrooms, lobster mac and cheese, and the signature NCP ribeye. Everything was delicious, and while the lobster mac could have used some more pieces of lobster, no substantive criticism otherwise. The wait to order our entrees was a little longer than standard as they seemed a little short, but our server was good, we were enjoying our apps and decided when eating such good food, dining at a leisurely pace added to luxurious experience.
