We hired NB Inspector John Marshall 7 years ago to do a pre-purchase inspection on a 65 year old house. He was incredibly thorough, professional, polite and easy to talk to. His inspection was comprehensive and I still refer to it now when assessing what's going on with the house. It was worth every penny, and in fact, it helped us get the seller to replace the sewer line, which he had no intention of doing otherwise. read more

Highly recommend!! If I could give 10 stars, I would. I had Scott inspect a home that I was potentially going to buy. He is very professional and thorough and took his time to explain things. I'm so thankful for him as he saved me from buying a money pit. Since my first experience with him was so great I hired him again to inspect another home and once again he provided the same exceptional customer service. His reports are great. I really like that he summarizes everything at the end. If you want a top notch inspector in the North Bay, Scott is your guy. read more

As part of a recent purchase, I needed a quick turn-around on a home inspection in order to meet the contingency timelines. I was bracing myself for the possibility of either not finding an inspector, or finding a subpar one. I was fortunate enough to find an open slot with North Bay Inspection. The entire inspection process was top-notch, from beginning to end. Scott took the time to walk the property and answer any and all questions I had about issues that would eventually show up on the report. His report was extremely thorough and gave me confidence that I would be informed in terms of existing issues with the home. read more

Very disappointed that he still says he hasn't received our email. I blotted out our personal information and address. But you can see here he responded to our email saying he never got it. He also read all of our texts and never arrived to our home--claiming we never called or emailed him. I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to anyone interested in this business. read more

North Bay Inspection - Home Inspectors Near Me - Concord, California

Scott came out to inspect my home in the fall. I was disappointed as he then ended up recommending 15+ specialists come to my home. As I had never done this before, I had spoken with their office before asking about any preparation I needed to do before the visit and they told me I didn't. As Scott was inspecting the house, I asked if I could move things out of his way so he could access the fireplace, other walls, etc. he declined so I carried on working. When the report came out he indicated that certain areas couldn't be inspected because of access which was frustrating as I had asked while he was there. He even indicated that he couldn't inspect my HVAC as my thermostat was out of batteries but I had AA batteries on hand and could have easily popped them in if he had mentioned it. It felt like he was just doing a topical inspection. I was disappointed with the service and the cursory visit. When I wrote him a follow up email he was pretty harsh with his words and scolded me saying, "you obviously have no idea the role of a home inspector" and "the bottom line is that you were not prepared for a proper inspection and that is no fault of mine." Could I have done better to prepare for his arrival? In hindsight, sure! But I had asked before his arrival and the office said I didn't. I didn't appreciate the retorts in our follow-up communication. I would not recommend this for someone who is also new to home inspections. read more

Scott was a fantastic help during our home purchase process: fast, professional communication, punctual, and incredibly thorough with his inspection and report. He helped us feel reassured by the positives and informed about the issues to address. A pleasure to deal with. read more

A very knowledgeable and polite inspection very much appreciated. We recommend to anybody top-notch inspector.

We recently put in an offer on an investment home in Concord and it was accepted, however the sellers did not have an inspection report done. We had a contingency of about 7 days to have all inspections done before going forward. Our offer and counter was accepted on a Friday so time was of the essence. Thankfully, I was able to find North Bay Inspection and their website to make a weekend appointment the following Sunday! That was tremendously helpful because home inspections usually take place Monday-Friday and both my husband and I work and live in the South Bay so it would be difficult for one of us to be present. We were both able to be there along with our realtor, as Scott did his due diligence and spent 3 hours inspecting the house. One main issue which could've been a deal breaker were the cracks in the stucco outside and some inside on the walls. We thought it might've been structural or foundation issues which can be very costly to fix but luckily after going into the crawl space he assured us the foundation was fine with no underlying issues. We will definitely need to get some work done on the house but our experience with Scott has been fantastic! He came prepared and throughly looked at all aspects of the home as well as answered all of our questions and concerns at the end of the inspection. The written report was sent thru email shortly and included pictures and very descriptive details of everything. This is the 5th home we've purchased and Scott's inspection was significantly better than the other 4. We highly recommend his experience and expertise to anyone who's looking for a home inspector! read more

Scott came out and performed a home inspection for me and from initial contact to receiving the final report, I have only positive things to say! Scott provided me a competitive quote to perform the home inspection and completed the inspection in just about the exact amount of time he estimated it should take. He was very thorough and his report is detailed yet easily digestible. Scott is a very approachable person and made himself available should any questions arise after receiving the report (or generally after performing the inspection). I really appreciate his offer to answer any questions, even days or weeks after the inspection, as it shows that he truly cares about assisting his customers. Definitely recommend North Bay Inspection! read more

Excellent, fast service, and their home inspection report was thorough and honest, and easy to understand. Got referred to North Bay Inspection by our realtor for a home purchase in the North Bay. Within days the inspection report was in our hands, and it was clear the inspector paid careful attention. They pointed out all the things an average homeowner probably would not consider or know to look at - sort of the point of an inspection. We now know what to address after we move in, what to watch, and what not to worry about for now. I regularly read home inspection reports for my job, and I think I have a good idea of what makes one good. The report from North Bay Inspection is good. read more

Scott recently did inspections for two properties and everything from start to finish was of the highest caliber. Scott took all the time necessary to answer questions and explain things in detail, and the reports are thorough and easy to understand. Scheduling was a breeze (thank you, thank you for the online scheduling!), and then the office manager called to confirm and discuss any specific concerns ahead of the inspections. Prices were fair, turnaround was quick, and everything was efficient and professional. Highly recommend! read more

Scott came to inspect a condo that I intend to purchase on New Year's Eve. After he inspected the condon, he gave me a call and explained a few items prior to the written report. Scott knew I was on a time crunch and he was able to deliver the report right after the holiday weekend. The inspection report is very detail and well written. Great tips and recommendations were noted throughout the report. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I was able to schedule an inspection easily through their website. Scott looked at a house I intend to buy and gave a thorough inspection with lots of details and explanation in his report. I'll happily use them should I purchase in this area again. read more

He was amazing- worth every penny! The report he gave could not have been any more detailed. He clearly stated at the beginning that while he was a contractor he would not work on a property that he did an inspection for to maintain integrity. He took a couple hours going over the house and he said we could follow him and listen or we could wait until he was done then he would do a walk around with us to show the concerns (if any). He alleviated our biggest concern about a retaining wall and found things we NEVER would have thought to look for (like electric wiring put inside the A/C condensation pipe ). He even gave us advice when asked about potential additions like solar panels. My fiancé and I found him to be a real down to earth and likable guy. Absolute pleasure to work with. 10/10 would recommend if nothing more than to gain sound piece of mind that the absolute best and honest answers will be given. read more

Scott came out in short notice to help with a house I'm closing on. Scott was beyond friendly, thorough, and just overall very helpful. Highly recommend! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Scott from the North Bay team this week and can't say enough about how thorough and professional he was! I decided to do a home inspection on a house I am considering buying that was recently flipped and appeared to not be completely finished. Scott was able to identify so many items that I am really glad I invested in the inspection ahead of making an offer. It was truly the best money I could've spent in this homebuying process. Scott was able to identify items that even the pest companies missed, he walked me through all of his major concerns, and was incredibly knowledgeable. Thank you Scott, for saving me a lot of money in repairs!! read more

Great job!!! Very detailed and thorough...very informative and professional...highly recommended! Final reports very helpful and specific.

Had a pre-purchase inspection done last year. Scott was fantastic and very thorough! He was also very approachable during our inspection and was very knowledgeable when answering questions. I would hire them again in a second. read more

North Bay Inspection was our first call so I don't have anyone else to compare to but we are very content that we decided to go with them. Scheduling an appointment was easy and done online. The day of inspection, Scott and his partner were on time. It was on a rainy day but they handled the inspection sufficiently. My husband and I have been living in the home we are purchasing so we had some questions and Scott was able to provide solid answers and recommendations. Turn around time for the report was a few days. I highly recommend this team! Very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. read more

Great service all around, starting from the easy online appointment request, communication & coordination with Daniel, and the actual inspection by Scott. The inspection was thorough and provided a lot of insight, information, and recommendations. Would happily hire again. read more

By far the best inspection we've had on our new home. Scott provided a comprehensive report detailing issues helping us to move forward with repairs. There were two other inspectors who, unfortunately, provided more general reports and didn't inspect under the home - in the crawlspace. Scott braved the catacombs of the house's underbelly and provided us with crucial pictures and information about a number of issues, particularly standing water, which we had no idea existed until his inspection. Besides reporting issues, Scott also added suggestions and insights to consider when seeking repairs, which is very helpful. I can honestly say that not all inspectors provide the same quality of service as we now have had three inspections in the last few months. The report provided by the first inspector, paid for by the previous owners and used by their realtor, seemed watered down. Not only did that inspector not check the crawlspace, but didn't even go on the roof. We then sought out our own inspector via a website which misleadingly appeared to be a family owned business, but actually was an ecommerce front. That 2nd inspection was more comprehensive than the first, but it bothered us that he wasn't willing to check the crawlspace - at least he did go on the roof, though. Our third inspection performed by North Bay Inspection was, without a doubt, the most professionally done and comprehensive. Thanks again, Scott and North Bay Inspection. read more

Scott was great! On time, knowledgeable, super thorough, and got the inspection back to us in less than two days. A 70 page report that fast! Highly recommend these guys! read more

Excellent communication, thorough & professional. Highly recommend.

If I could give a 0 star review I would. They were very unprofessional in their report. They were also very rude when trying to talk to them. If you want your home inspection to have misinformation in it and comment about thing outside of their scope of expertise then I'd recommend them. read more

I have used Northbay Inspection, John, for the last two home inspections I have needed and hopefully will always be able to use them. John is the consummate inspector, he delivers a report that covers a house extensively. Starting with the inspection itself, he actually checks all the things that most inspectors simply check off as assumed. Then there is his expert knowledge, this guy has vast expertise in many areas of home building and will give you straight honest answers. John has saved me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repair. read more

The whole experience was great, I am in the process of buying a home in Vallejo and needed a home inspection kind of soon, I called some other places and they weren't very flexible. John was great from the initial phone conversation all the way to receiving the email report. He was puntual to the appointment, he did and extensive inspections, (more than 3 hours) always taking time to explain and answer any questions me or the real state agent had. The report was very easy to read and understand even for 1st time buyers like me. Very detailed with lots of pictures, recommendations on what issues we should prioritize and get second opinion, etc. It was over 80 pages long. But then again when you are signing your life away you at least want to be sure of what you are getting into. read more

I have had two houses inspected by North Bay Inspections, one by John and the other by Scott. Both guys were extremely informative and professional. Scott found some items in the first home that were enough for us to back out of the deal. It's better to pay a small fee for inspection than getting stuck with a crummy house. John inspected the second house and walked us through the whole process giving us updates along the way. Have not gotten Johns full report yet but Scott's was extremely thorough and I couldn't have asked for better. Amazing guys, amazing company. read more

I learned the hard way that early July is tough to book home inspections of any kind. I was anxious and frustrated until I called Northbay. They were able to schedule me in my time frame, told me exactly what to expect, and were terrific before, during and after. Scott was early, explained everything he was seeing--good, bad and in between. He made sure I understood what would be covered in his report and why some would be highlighted and others noted. Big thanks to Scott and Northbay. I have a much better understanding of our new home and how we need to take care of it! read more

We hired John at North Bay Inspection to do a home inspection on a home we were in the process of purchasing. He was so thorough in his inspection was just an amazing resource to us as we navigated our request for repairs with the seller. The best part is he left us with a report that's basically a "Care and Keeping of Our New Home" guide that tells us everything we need to be sure to keep an eye on regularly in our new place. He was a godsend to us and I couldn't recommend him more! read more

It was a pleasure working with Scott during our home inspection. He is very thorough and has an expert eye that can see right through somebody's botched DIY job. As a Realtor, I refer Home Inspectors, Loan Agents, Contrators, Escrow Agents to my clients on a daily basis. Working with professionals like John (the owner) and Scott (his trusted and hard working Home Inspector) is very important. John was communicative and takes pride in his business. I recently had 2 homes in escrow in Vallejo, and liked that I could book an inspection easily online on their website. Scott was a stellar Home Inspector both times. In fact he was so great on the first Inspection, that I requested him for the second Inspection. He is a pleasure to work with, has great knowledge, follows up with detailed reports in a timely manner, and explained details of his report with my clients. I highly recommend North Bay Inspections and will continue to refer business their way! read more

Scott was able to fit me in last minute. I contacted North Bay inspection on a Sunday I believe and got back to me same day! Scheduled for a 2-3 hour home inspection (love the thoroughness) for the next day! As an real estate agent, buyers can be fickle and change their minds last minute. Knowing we had to remove contingency by Wed, Scott is a god send. I just wish they worked further down south so I could use him for all my home inspections! read more

Scott arrived promptly as scheduled, presenting in clean working clothes, using foot coverings inside the house and being thoughtful of the property being inspected. The review took 2.5 hours and he went through the entire grounds and structure with an eye to detail and obvious knowledge of codes, clearances, materials and systems. His written report was 63 pages, with pictures of observed issues to document the issues and to visually orient clearly to the locations. I recommend North Bay Inspection service highly. read more
