In November of 2025 I called this office and spoke to a person asking for advice on how to sell…read moresome stocks from my brokerage account. He confirmed the process for me, but because my account is self managed he did not have the desire to open my account and view it before answering my questions. I did the transaction via my phone app, and when the money went into my account it was over $30,000 short. When I called Schwab I was told there was a "Notice B" notice on my account from the IRS that required Schwab to send 24% of any transaction I conduct to the IRS as a tax withholding. If the person I had talked to, had taken the effort to just quickly check my account he would have seen that notice and could have advised me to correct the issue with the IRS before cashing out my stocks. Additionally, this issue was brought to my attention years ago, I provided the documents to Schwab to correct the problem but apparently Schwab never corrected the issue with the IRS. The issue was quickly corrected again, but this time I called Schwab customer service to confirm that notice had been removed from my account. I'm now having difficulty getting this money back from the IRS due to a mistake my tax person made when filing my taxes. This whole problem would have been avoided if the person I talked to at this local office had taken the time to check my account and give me solid advice that protected my interest. I'm now stuck in a bureaucratic nightmare with the IRS. Unless you have a "managed account " with this local office you will not get the help you need. Better to call the customer service line.

This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. They have the most archaic systems, online banking,…read moreand worst customer service. The big guy with the bald head and beard who calls himself the manager wouldn't know how to keep a customer if his life depended on it. They tell you how to set up your accounts to avoid monthly fees and then change their terms whenever they want and don't let you know about it. No matter what happens they will never, ever reverse a fee to try to keep their customer. I originally signed up with them because of how close they are to my work but now I would much rather drive 15 minutes up the freeway to Bank of America where they know how to treat their customers, greet you right when you walk in, and explain any and all fees and even reverse one once in a while if you are human and make a mistake. West America is literally the worst and I don't see that branch being in business much longer. Even with no customers ever in the lobby they will still all stare at you and not help you until they absolutely have to. Really the place is a joke.
