For starters on 5/4/2020 when Bank of America's website was finally ready to take on SBA's PPP applications - it was highly publicly stated its a "first come, first serve" type of fund for businesses primarily. I texted my cpa Sal that very morning at 6:45am and let him know he needed to get me a 1040 schedule c draft "PRONTO!" as 3 day later Bank of America said they taken on 3 million applicants within just the first day or so... Sal was a team player all the way! He returned my text at 7:20am and emailed me 1st version of 2019 1040 draft before 11:00am then we revised it and uploaded submitted all before 12:00 noon and as fast as we acted i was still consider by Bank of America their 2nd batch... In the end with Sal's help i was one of the fortunate business owners able to submitted 5/4 and get funded by 6/4. 2.) In my younger years i've dealt with HR Block then as i grew older and became business owners and income stream became more complex i had met a handful of CPA's and all in all they were very poker face or reptilian like creatures very similar to lawyers. With that said, Sal is completely different!! His more of a friend. A friend that has your back when you are in need + that gives you sound advice on a broader scope of things. And Sal does this with his warm genuine down to earth personality and empathy while being effective efficient and diligent. 3.) I used to be in residential mortgage for close to a decade and the good mortgage consultants are always VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and up to date with the underwriting guidelines - its the only way you can make numbers work! Same with taxes. Can't make the puzzles fit if you are not up to date with what's going on. The CARES Act allows taxpayers to carry back losses incurred during 2018-2020 for five years... But when i mentioned this to Sal he immediately told me even before the Cares Act that was possible its just the Cares Act open up to a lot more deductibles... Wow... See what i am talking about?! I can sleep good tonight now! 4.) Strategy is crucial especially when economy is at snail pace. Many folks aren't aware but IRS does accept compromise numbers followed by installments of course your side of reasoning needs to make sense to them but i think given the circumstances it makes a strong argument. So if you are looking or thinking or wondering about how you can improve on areas in your taxes - look no further give Sal a call!! As the extended deadlines for taxes are 10/15/ 2020 you might just get additional tax refunds back if you find the right professional to set you up right.
