When the recession hit, I had to lay off some office staff, so duties other than accounting were taking up more of my time. I could handle the weekly payroll, no problem, but the quarterlies and year end reporting was causing a lot of stress. I decided to try a service and since I've known Leslie Ruhland for years after serving with her on the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I decided to give Accuchex a try. We still use our own timeclock, so I enter the hours on Wednesday and on Friday, the paychecks show up in the mail (or direct deposit to employees). All the tax reporting is done and the analysis report provided easily imports all the payroll data to Quickbooks. I have saved so much in time and stress that I would NEVER do my own payroll again! Whenever I have a weird issue with the paychecks, my account manager, Patti Harvey, is easily accessible through email and phone calls. I am so thankful that I took the leap and hired Accuchex. (Yes, I should've been on top of the situation much sooner!) That said, Jennifer was extremely helpful and scheduled an appointment for me on April 2nd. I had 4 returns that needed to be done and was merely hoping to get extensions filed so they could be completed at a later date. I came in with my returns from the previous year as well as my various 1099s, K-1s, etc. I met with Ryan who was cordial and professional. I expected him to laugh me out of his office when I placed the packet of forms on his desk and asked if he could do anything by April 15th. Well, not only did he not laugh, but he and his team got the job done including an unexpected 5th return for my teenage son who had a summer job which they threw in for free! I was able to file all my returns by April 15th and everything was done electronically so I merely had to click a few keys which was great because I was traveling. (And send some checks, of course!) They even found a refund for me on one return which I had not expected. Everyone with whom I came in contact (Ryan, Sheri, Jennifer, Ben, etc.) was professional, courteous and extremely efficient.
