I can not speak highly enough of Chris, Anthony, Norma, Robin...the whole team at Frederiksen-Crawford CPAs. Frederiksen-Crawford has been doing our taxes for 4 years now and every single year they do a fantastic job leaving us consistently pleasantly surprised at the end of tax season. Our taxes are moderately complicated with some W2 stuff, some self-employment business stuff, rental property, property sales (capital gains), etc. and while some firms I have worked with in the past struggled to get it all correct and submitted on time, Frederiksen-Crawford has been meticulous about getting it all correct, on time every single year. They are professional, informative, easy to work with, diligent, and effective and make what could be a painful tax season feel fair and relatively painless. Thank you Frederiksen-Crawford! We'll see you next year. read more

Will was fantastic for help with an private individual tax amendment after some large mistakes were made on my tax returns a few years ago. He's thorough, extremely patient, and dots all his i's and crosses all his t's. I'll definitely returning for more services down the line. Thank you Will! read more

They couldn't help me. They specialize in businesses. I need someone who does individual taxes.

I found this firm based on the reviews here and was surprised at how much they lived up to the service and quality. I think I told them (after they helped to resolve a complicated tax matter) they were miracle workers and upon reflection I stand by that sentiment. Truly easy to work with and local to Marin which is nice. read more

Completely dropped the ball and did not inform us. Did not file our personal or corporate taxes or even file for extensions. Very unprofessional..... read more

After a long period of time with another CPA firm, I found myself needing to find a new firm, importantly with international experience, for our personal income taxes. I am a financial professional myself, which reinforces to me how vital it is to find a firm which commits time to stay on top of the many, rapidly changing domestic and international tax laws and regulations. As I enter my second year working with Frederiksen-Crawford, we are very happy working with the firm, and with Anthony Parsons, CPA in particular. The initial transition year can raise trepidation, wondering if everything relevant has been captured and understood. (Tax law can be complex and nuanced.) Anthony made himself available to answer our questions along the way, was always prompt, and exceedingly polite; a rare and often undervalued trait. That was all in addition to being capable and demonstrating a robust and deep knowledge of the subject matters at hand. I was pleased to learn that Anthony is still at the firm and will be taking care of us again this year. read more

Chris Frederiksen is awesome! He gave me solid advice during a free consultation to help solve an issue that had been giving me stress headaches for months. Chris is competent and wonderful and I highly highly recommend his services. Thank you so much! read more

Tara and Chris and team have been trusted advisors and meticulous tax planners for our family for 10 years. Tara helped me work through two job changes and has assisted my husband with changes to his self employment and LLC structures in that time. She's approachable, responsive, wise and thorough. I never hesitate to bring her questions and she also proactively brings ideas to us. We have also benefited from Chris's expertise in working through a tricky relocation gross-up issue that resulted in us recouping a substantial amount of money for a payroll error. They work as a terrific team to deliver the right knowledge and expertise to their clients. We are grateful for their support and absolutely recommend them! read more

We just moved to Marin and were looking for a new accountant after my old accountant made a $30,000 mistake on last year's taxes. We're two professionals with some rental income and we bought and sold property this year so our return was mildly complicated. Tara is exactly what I was looking for--professional, knowledgeable, friendly and fast. My "free one hour consultation" stretched past 2 hours but she never rushed or pressured me. She was very well informed about my questions, but honest about wanting to check for changes in the law about certain small details. I don't expect someone to know everything about everything, and I'm suspicious of people who always have a definite answer to every question. I left the meeting with a list of documents to complete my return and she was done within days of me providing them . Her fee was very competitive with other accountants I have used and the service was superior. We are looking forward to doing some financial planning with her after the tax season dust settles. read more

I am very impressed with the knowledge and honesty of Chris Frederiksen, whom I visited after finding him on Yelp. I approached him regarding the tax implications of a complex investment real estate sale I am considering. Chris spent an hour discussing the deal with me and concluded I would suffer a huge tax loss if I structured it in the way I intended. I expected to pay thousands of dollars in consulting fees to find satisfactory answers to my questions. But with Chris I learned what I needed within a one-hour free consultation. Thanks to his immediate help, I don't currently need his services. However, the next time I face a complex accounting issue that is over my head, Chris will be the first person I call. read more

In November of 2017 I received a polite but aggressive letter from the IRS demanding nearly $50,000 plus interest and penalties. I explained my position but the IRS only yawned between sips of coffee and explained the money was due, they knew where I lived and that they were locked and loaded and coming after me with hot barrels blazing. I was unable to get the IRS to listen to me because I did not speak the same language. I needed a professional gunslinger. I then spoke with the professionals at Frederiksen-Crawford CPA and my fast beating heart was settled with their reassuring confidence. My case was accepted with a very fair "No results no pay" agreement. Within weeks the dispute was settled in my favor with the IRS actually owing me close to $10,000. My advice is to not go up against the IRS but to hire the competent staff at Frederickson-Crawford and get a solid nights rest while they enter the ring on your behalf and emerge as victors with you winning. read more

We found Chris and his practice when we lived in Mill Valley. From the moment we shook hands, we knew we had met a wonderful and competent tax professional. His entire office staff were kind and responsive and were available to answer our questions the entire time. We hadn't ever paid someone to do our taxes before and decided to double check our outcome with TurboTax and we almost died when we saw the difference. We decided then and there we had been complete idiots in the past and that we would never do our own taxes again! We actually had to use them a second unexpected time for a tax emergency. We got a letter from the IRS just before winter vacation stating that we owed back taxes (from a year before we had found these guys). They were incredibly responsive and kind. We submitted all the documents to them before our vacation and by the time we were back they had amended our return and just needed signatures so that our documents could be sent to the IRS. They are worth every penny and we hope Chris never retires! read more

Tara and her team are beyond wonderful! If it's possible to make tax time something to look forward to, well then they have succeeded in my mind. I found Tara completely by accident in 2009 and have been nothing but completely satisfied since. They are meticulous, professional, completely knowledgeable, and able to find and save you money where you never even considered it possible. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any of your financial tax accounting needs. read more

I could not ask for a better team. Hmm where do I start. I know they have demonstrated that they have my financial interests as top priority. They do not hold back on their advice. Recently Chris Frederiksen saw me very quickly about an important decision on my career. I Spent an insightful 1.5 hrs with him and then he produced a document for me that was outstanding the same afternoon!! I have high standards when it comes to service and integrity and these CPAs have surpassed my standards. It is difficult to give specifics without revealing my personal finances. They are as good as it gets! read more

I have been using Tara Crawford and Chris Frederiksen for over 15 years for not only tax advice and tax return preparation but also general advice on business transactions. I have also referred a number of clients who were forming or operating businesses to Tara and Chris. Their advice is thoughtful, well-informed and always right! Their work on my taxes has saved me thousands of dollars over the years that I would never have realized without them. Everyone I have referred to them has thanked me. Above it all they are incredibly great people who really care about their clients. read more

Had Chris Fredericksen review taxes that needed to be revised. Very knowledgeable and had solid advise.

As a business lawyer who launches corporations and LLC's I often encounter clients who need to engage an accountant to work with them on their new business. I also have clients who are not happy with the accountant they have been using. In both cases I often refer them to Frederiksen-Crawford. Chris and Tara are very competent and responsive, and I always receive positive feedback from the clients I refer to them. read more

My wife and I have had our taxes done for the last several years through a friend of ours. This last year we bought a house and had a baby so we chose to have our taxes done locally and selected Tara Crawford to do them. Her office was very professional and met all of our expectations and more. Tara not only prepared 2010 taxes for us she also went back a few years and organized our old taxes and found some errors in them without being asked to. We are very pleased with her work on our taxes that we plan on continuing to work with her and use her to help us with financial planning which they also specialize in. Two thumbs up from us. read more
