She doesn't take clients unless it's a referral. I think because it's a lot of work and a large commitment. She charges accordingly but in our case that we have many years of back taxes it's worth the money. Peace of mind is priceless... I appreciate that she can handle stress on another super human level. Her mind is sharp, she has a special talent, I believe she was born with a special brain, and has a gift, to crunch numbers, handle red tape, IRS, deadlines and take clients through the daunting road of taxes. Always in a great disposition. She's fearless too. She has no problem going down the rabbit holes and making calls and inquiries. She is an amazing human and a top notch CPA. And someone we can trust with our entire lives on the table. If you have work to do with an accountant you really need to feel heard and be able to trust that person. It's an intimate process. No judgement. You shouldn't ever feel ashamed. We are all human. And taxes aren't something natural to any normal human being. So to find a wonderful person that can make this process smoother. And legally work their magic. It's a blessing. I feel blessed to have been introduce to Irina Kassil.

The first thing Irina did was spend time talking with me both on the phone and again in person to learn about my tax concerns and issues. And now she's done with my taxes for 2018 and I have been completely impressed. Her pinpoint knowledge of tax law and tax consequences is profound. Her attention to detail is outstanding. She helped get my sole proprietor deductions in line to make an audit less likely. And she managed to work in all my expenditures into my numbers so that I didn't lose a single penny. And her knowledge of COVERED CA is quite strong. Irina is wonderful and I'm relieved & grateful to be her client.

Why it took me so many years to break away is a question for my therapist. When I finally decided to go to a REAL professional I found myself here, in the amazingly capable hands of Jackie Thomson. It was like the storm broke, the Jesus rays shone down from the heavens, the sky cleared, and it was a cloudless-still-74-degree-day. And that's the way it's been ever since. Hallelujah. Jackie answers e-mail in a flash, gets the job done on time, exhibits work ethic excellence, is reliable, trustworthy, organized, and timely. Basically, she's the consummate professional and I'm left looking for her replica in every other service business I patronize. So, there you have it. Why you'd go anywhere else can remain your little secret but once you switch to Jackie (and Anspach) you'll want to blab it all over the place just like me.

They seem nice the one year we worked with them but in the past we have never had to pay both State and Fed... this group has no clue how to work any kind of tax law that will get you benefits and they charge 2xs as much as other offices. They would not see us in person because they were "too busy". But my sister in law called the same day and ( and it's not even St. Patrick's day in March) got an appointment within the same week.... they play favorites and if you are new and don't have more than 3 apartment buildings and lots of money you are a poor s-o-b who they don't have time for. Plus did I say we only worked with them through emails last year because they "didn't have time" to see us in person and never really got us as clients - they just charged over priced cost $$$$ and we had to pay for the first time in a long time where I don't think we had to. Save ur money and find someone who will work with you personally - these people suck! They are jerks over the phone and will not even let you talk to the person you want to talk to! They suck!!!!

Frederiksen-Crawford has been doing our taxes for 4 years now and every single year they do a fantastic job leaving us consistently pleasantly surprised at the end of tax season. Our taxes are moderately complicated with some W2 stuff, some self-employment business stuff, rental property, property sales (capital gains), etc. and while some firms I have worked with in the past struggled to get it all correct and submitted on time, Frederiksen-Crawford has been meticulous about getting it all correct, on time every single year. They are professional, informative, easy to work with, diligent, and effective and make what could be a painful tax season feel fair and relatively painless. Thank you Frederiksen-Crawford! We'll see you next year.

Diabolical We were…read morelooking for a long term person to work on our taxes as expats from the UK, so we thought Chris would be the right person. We asked would they be able to take on our case before the tax deadline (a month or two before), they said they could and I pretty much provided all the documents needed in a few days. However a month or two later just before the deadline we were assigned to someone called Steven Daniel - he was without a doubt the absolute worst person we've ever dealt with in terms of client experience. He would ask us stupid questions like can we convert an image to a document for him to which I pointed out there are plenty of tools online for that. They filed an extension without telling us we would be liable for any interest. A month or so passes and they then start following up with questions saying they are nearly done. Another month passed and they upload the preliminary tax bill into their portal without telling us. The tax bill was a lot higher than expected, I clarified this with Chris, sent the money to the IRS and he said nothing more was needed. Another month passes and Steven emails us asking would we like to file the tax return. WTF Steven?!? The man is clearly an absolute imbecile and did not work out when I said we have paid the IRS (for which he was in the email) this means file the bloody return?!? I get a call from Chris apologising saying they will cover the interest. To this date I have never received this despite sending them the interest bill I paid off for several hundred dollars. For the luxury of all this madness, they charged me $1500. At that price I would be expecting a fairly high end service, this was beyond belief - I cannot fathom how they are happy to charge this for some of the worst professional service I have ever experienced. In short, steer clear unless you have more money than sense - if you hear the name Steven Daniel, run and do not look back.

If you are considering hiring Gary Winston, CPA, I urge you to read this first…read more My family hired Mr. Winston to assist with estate tax filings and financial oversight while my father was suffering from dementia. What followed was not just unprofessional--it was catastrophic. Over time, Mr. Winston submitted questionable tax filings, including a false 1099-MISC claiming over $1 million had been invested in my business. The truth? The actual amount was less than $150,000, and even that was over several years. Based on this false return, the IRS was paid over $237,000 from my father's accounts. He also advised my father to send misleading letters to the IRS--letters that contradicted facts, concealed who actually controlled the money, and protected Winston's position. When I began asking questions, Gary stopped responding altogether. No answers. No accountability. Meanwhile, my father's multimillion-dollar trust was drained. Funds vanished through suspicious payments, and to this day, Gary Winston has refused to explain his role or provide documentation to justify his filings. His former bookkeeper was involved in questionable practices, and there is strong reason to believe that others were acting in concert with him. This wasn't just negligence. This was manipulation of an elderly man with cognitive decline, and it destroyed our family's finances. We're now working with federal and state authorities to investigate, but the damage is already done. I'm writing this not out of anger--but to protect others from going through the same thing. If you have an elderly family member, if you're dealing with trusts or estate taxes, please be extremely cautious. In our case, trusting Gary Winston was a tragic mistake.
