Dismayed, and disappointed! They have my records, but are unreachable. Based on a recommendation from Berkeley Parents website, I contacted this office five weeks ago. I was told to send over my tax information via non-enrypted Frontier (a/k/a Yahoo) email. As someone with a coding background I didnt love that, but I also thought sometimes small offices move slower with technology so in the spirit of "done is better than perfect" I sent over my W2 info. It been over a month since the received my personal information, and I did not receive any answer to my request that they acknowedge receipt of the material. When I've tried calling the office to ask about progress, I just get a message that their number has been disconnected. * ETA - I was able after writing this to get in touch with someone. Changing my review to a neutral 3 stars while things are in process and will update again afterward. read more

Since I'm really good at waiting last minute to do things, I hopped onto Yelp, searched for taxes services and found Christopher just this morning. I left a message and got a very prompt response. Although he was already booked out with clients for the remainder of the season, he still helped me with my questions.....What an A+ guy!!!! He was very honest, helpful and basically made my day. Chris Detzer did my 2011 tax return spending all the time I needed on the phone to explain my tax circumstances. He looked at my 2010 return from H&R Block saying that they made a mistake that cost me over $100. The particular guy at H&R Block refused to fix it so Chris offered to help me out on this issue. Finally H&R Block admitted their mistake and I got my money refunded to me. I won't be going to H&R Block again. Chris had my back!
