I wanted a separate bookkeeper and accountant who were both local. Ms. Vivian informed me that my accountant was overcharging me for services and made an error. However, she would not tell me what it was. She offered to charge me half of what I paid to prepare my returns in addition to the bookkeeping services. When I told her that I would continue to use my current accountant, she charged me $$$$ for the bookkeeping services alone when we had initially agreed to $$ with an initial retainer. She provided my financials 1 week before they were due and did not update my QuickBooks or provide a drive as agreed. There was crucial information that should have been discussed during the 7-month process, but unfortunately, it was not disclosed until I received my financials a week before they were due. She also stated that she and my accountant used the same program, suggesting that the paper print out of my financials she provided would be enough to complete the returns without much effort needed by my accountant. It felt very vindictive and retaliatory; I had to have them redone as Ms. Vivian broke the trust. read more

This is our first year working with Vivian and her team at HCCPA. Their value of service is competitive and excellent. When we first approached her to request business tax filing services, we did not have an organized balance sheet and a reconciliation report to start with. However, she patiently walked us though the DOs and DONTs and explained every step of the way in great detail. After Vivian and her team finished sorting through our business transactions, we discovered another big problem regarding business type, which could cause huge trouble for us, as business owners. However, she responded immediately to our issue and offered a few options for us to consider (both pros and cons). With her proper guidance, the issue was resolved and we were pleased with the outcome. Vivian is a nightmare to work with. She agreed to take on some urgent tax work, but would not email or call during business hours but only after 10pm! She would then unexplainably stop communicating for a week or so and then again call after 10pm! She would then want all her questions and calls answered right then and there, not even wait an hour, since the work was "urgent". She then made a mistake in my return that cost me extra $1000 in taxes and on top of that I got a bunch of recalculations from the state because of her errors. When you bring up any of these reasonable points she is rude, tells you she doesn't have time, will blame her staff, her computer software, anything but fix the problems. All of this despite my work being fixed scope and all meticulously organized documents being given to her before the first email. Taxes are stressful as they are, you don't want to add her to the mix! AVOID AT ALL COST! read more

Vivian just finished my s-corp taxes. This year they were complicated by a variety of factors including the fact that my prior cpa of a couple of years ago had made a few errors. She researched and corrected them all, making the necessary adjustments.
