The food was whatever nothing special just noticed the huge portions and really messy. Sorry i was born with brown skin, maybe talk to your workers about not being intimidated by someone who is not white. Upon arriving in town on Sunday evening, a group and I went looking for a watering hole after eating dinner at Papa T's. We strolled down the street until I saw the sign that hangs above this bar which simply reads, The Office. I laughed, backed up a bit and looked in the door which was propped open. As soon as I made eye contact with the bartender, she exclaimed, "Come in!" I dutifully obliged and it was the first of many great decisions that evening. Needless to say, Jesse kept our drinks full and smiles on our faces until long after midnight. I highly recommend anyone who's in town for a night or a month to make a trip to see her. I loved this place. Walked in, and it was only the owner and his friend. I think they were surprised to have someone in the bar they had never seen before, but they quickly cleaned up the bar top, smiled, and grabbed us some beers. Both guys were super friendly, and I loved hearing about the history of the bar and Butte. Walk under the welcoming hanging sing, through the front door, and the bar is immediately left. There was a couch, jukebox, and musical instruments on the right. No tables or anything like that, but again maybe COVID. The Dollar reminds me of a place where most activity happens at the bar anyway. The bar has an old school wooden tap with a medium rail. Below there is a box footrest that sits under the round padded bar stools. The highlight of the bar, though, is the beautiful back bar. It has a large arch and intricate woodwork. A little messy right now, but the bottle shelves still stand out with the red lighting. Opposite the bar, old photos and artwork are displayed against the brick wall. The floor is a little torn up, but I'm not there for the floor; I'm there for the conversation and beer. I'm not sure I'll ever have a reason to return to Butte, but I hope the Silver Dollar Saloon is still serving if I do.

We are out of towners and stayed in Emigent, which is an area that does not have a lot of options…read morenearby. Old Saloon was closed for the first half of the week we were there (along with all the other food options) but we managed to pop in Wednesday night after a long, exhausting day. We found half of the dining area was closed so there were only about 6 tables available, plus bar seating (we had 8 people). Service was ok, but we did have to ask for refills each time we needed one and for sugar when it was forgotten. The menu was super limited (different than what their online menu showed which was disappointing because we went for certain things and none ended up being on the menu) and really expensive for what we had to choose from (ex. $4 to add jalapeño and $4 to add bacon to a burger- insane). The food was not great. I got the Big Sky (grilled chicken sandwich with bacon) and it was dry/overcooked. Asked for it with the ranch on the side (I don't like ranch) and it was put on it and on the side. Sweet potato fries were all stuck together and just not great. Overall, maybe we caught them on a bad day, but it was the worst stop we had on our trip. We got food, we ate, it did the truck, but it was over priced and just meh.
