Poor service was provided by Angela on Aug 2nd around 8:30pm. Not sure if her name is Angela but was the name on the check. I went with my husband to eat last night, we sat outside and the tables were dirty, we had to ask for water twice, we had no silverware and my husband asked for more ketchup and she seemed very upset with our request. Angela needs to understand that being a server is not just about taking orders but, also about selling and provide a good service to have repeat customers. Our beer glasses were empty and she never offered us more beers, no napkins were provided and my husband had to go inside to grab it by himself. We ordered fish and chips, onions rings and 2 beers. For the town of Whitehall, it was a local eatery with a good hamburger and friendly staff. This is a typical, small town place to grab a nice conversation and enjoy the company of others. Limited cell coverage but nonetheless a good place for a meal. Service was slow but worth the wait. read more

I am completely satisfied with K Bar & Grill! The waitress was very kind and attentive. Rhonda was our cook. There were three of us and one got the mushroom burger with fries, the other got biscuits and gravy. I got the fish and chips and it was really good. Got to the grill part of the house at 5 minutes until close on a Monday night. Hesitated to do so based on some of the reviews here. I was greeted cheerfully and seated quickly. One look at the menu and I saw the Patty Melt. I love the Patty Melt. Beef, grilled onion, cheese and rye. Amazing combo. The waitress assured me it was a good one here. Ordered that with a side of onion rings. It was awesome! Beef was juicy, onions were perfectly grilled, cheese was flavorful and melted just right, the marble rye bread was grilled perfectly. Got a fountain drink, and it was great as well - the mix was right, no dirty line aftertaste. Even though I got there at close, the waitress gave me great service - attentive and pleasant, with a bit of conversation mixed in. Maybe staffing was different for some of the poorer reviews? There is something to be said about a small town diner. It may have been the hours we spent at the Lewis and Clark Caverns, or simply the desire to not be on the freeway anymore...but this place was Amazing! From the burger to the grilled cheese, to possibly the world's best huckleberry ice-cream, everything was top notch at Legends. The staff was great and it looked like they employed half the town at this restaurant, which is great for the local economy. There is also a casino and bar attached, which was can offer no comment on. If you are on the road and feeling hungry, pull off and give this little diner a chance, you will not regret it! read more

Our family stopped in recently during our trip to see the In-laws. HUGE MISTAKE....This place was the dirtiest diner we have ever been in. We honestly thought about getting up and leaving. The wait staff was dirty and disheveled. The owner looked like she just crawled out of bed wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt that had seen way better days. We could not help but notice how very loud and very rude she was to her staff in front of the whole diner. (not very professional was our opinion. This is why.....My husband is a leadership speaker providing motivational keynotes on management and leadership skills, team building, employee engagement and DISC training.) YIKES! We went ahead an ordered, food was okay but overpriced for what you got. I would not give this place any stars but this site wont allow for it. After we got back on the road my husband turned to me saying that we should have left her a business card and a schedule for some of his workshops. read more

My family and I have given this place numerous chances to prove them selves. The older lady was really good at breakfast but could not cook anything else. The new cook is not good at all he uses to much oil to cook so all of us had the runs starting the moment that we left the establishment I was in the army and the food was better than this... From our past experience with Legends, I would NOT recommend this restaurant. We are locals and happily support our in-town establishments; however, we simply can no longer eat or order food from Legends. The last time we ordered, they were completely out of shrimp, had to substitute sourdough bread for rye for a reuben sandwich because they were out, and upon arriving at home, our side salad was missing (although we did get the dressing!), pork chop sandwich was soggy due to placing the pickles on TOP of the bun, and they forgot to add the cheese. This was a randomly chosen food stop on a road trip through Montana and we definitely lucked out. The restaurant was about three quarters full but we were welcomed promptly at the door. Simple small town décor appeared clean and well cared for. Our drink orders were taken immediately and we were left to peruse their well rounded menu of primarily straight up American cuisine. I ordered a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a house salad (also came with a side of garlic sautéed green beans) and my girlfriend had their Chef Salad (with cheese and cold cut ham rolls on top). The portions were very generous and judging by the plates served at adjoining tables it is standard practice to ensure every customer leaves with a 100% full belly. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. Nothing fancy, just simple standard fare done very well. The price was more than fair ($20 for food and non-alcohol beverages), and the service was friendly and efficient. Given the opportunity we would definitely stop here again to further explore the menu... the taco salad and nachos at the next table over looked very enticing! read more

Reading some of the other reviews I was a bit hesitant to eat here, but I figured why not? The diner was not as disgusting as was stated by a previous reviewer. The service I received was not slow, not super fast, but not slow. Food was served promptly. When I asked the waiter, who was more than happy to talk, about the owner/owners, he pointed out a very nicely dressed woman at the til. I also asked about the loud boisterous woman I saw in and out of the cafe', he stated she was the manager. She sometimes does pizza dough and deep cleaning, such as carpet shampooing. I assume that is who Mrs. S saw when she described the lady just crawling out of bed. All in all not a bad experience, not the best but not the worst i have seen. Awful! Passing through town with my S.O. and stopped in for breakfast. Who can ruin breakfast, right? Well, Legends can. Eggs were slimy. The toast was very old and stale. Hashbrowns were cold and not fresh. My S.O.'s breakfast was ice cold. We could hear the microwave being used non stop in the kitchen. I agree with Mrs. S. "The wait staff was dirty and disheveled". Clothes were completely dirty front and back. Get these people a uniform. It was so bad I simply lost my appeitite. I would not give this place any stars but the site will not allow. If you do not know anything about food.....DO NOT OWN A RESTAURANT. If the person cooking is unaware of safe food handling and unaware of the fact they are serving awful food they should not be in the kitchen cooking. Have some pride in your work and think of the people you are serving this crap to. Gordon Ramsey needs to ship this place in to shape! read more
