On Wednesday, April 6, 2011 my fiance and I stopped at this establishment (now known as Norm's Wayside) for a beer and chicken wings. Once the order was placed, the wings were sitting in front of us in 3 minutes. Good service you might think. However, we found out on the first bite - the wings were raw! Yes, raw! The owner (Norm) was sitting at the bar so I proceeded to show him what had just been served to us, he could have cared less. I told him this was unacceptable and he said "that's your opinion". I will not recommend this place to anyone and most likely will ask my friends to go elsewhere. We are also active with several motorcycle rides and will keep our groups away from this place in the future. read more

Stopped here on a Sunday. Pizza was pretty good, but service was rather poor. Seemed like there was too many things going on for the staff. Football game on the TV's, a loud meat raffle by the bar. But place was clean and had a interesting theme. read more

The food was decent and it's hard to find a Bloody Mary with a side order of some pancakes now days. But, $3.00 for for an 8 once kids drink? That's major b.s.! Leave the kiddos at home or just go to the thirsty buffalo. There's better places around that don't try to screw you over. read more

Very dissappointed! The rib appetizer was delivered to table ... No napkins provided so finally had to ask. The Beer ordered on arrival was forgotten and only delivered after a 20 minute wait and 2 reminders. Excited to try the Detroit Style pizza...not anything to brag about ... very greasy...won't order again. We were watching one of the TVs with Womens World Cup game on it when it was suddenly switched to golf and three other TVs were on men's LaCrosse. Our request to have one of them set to the soccer match was ignored. Won't recommend and won't be back. read more

The service was terrific. And atmosphere was fun. My husband said the Brunch Burger was very good. My Breakfast Quesadilla was good but VERY large. So this could be a good thing for many. read more

Been here a few....many times. Don't expect stellar service...enjoy your beer and be prepared to wait about 45-60 min for your food. Servers don't seem to care about your experience...just their tip... runners work their tails off.. live music is pretty good though. read more

This was recommended to us by some friends. They said the food was good but the service was questionable. It happens. We went there and sure enough, had poor service. We decided to try it again in hopes that it was just a fluke. Again bad service. Waited over 30 minutes even get acknowledged. 3 times is a charm. Tried one more time. Waited nearly 40 minutes and only at the point we were leaving that we were acknowledged. A half hearted apology and no good will gesture. I rarely take time to write a review but we have never tried so hard to want to be a good customer and seen it fail 3 out of 3. My suggestion is management take a look at how they treat customers and staff with people who care. Good luck. We are done with this place. read more

Frank the manager needs training in phone etiquette. I called to inquire about Norms hosting an event for 75 plus people. I called and asked if I could speak with a manager. When Frank picked up the phone, he answered with a rough "Hello". I asked who I was speaking with and he responded with "The Manager". I asked if he had a name and he responded with "Frank". Not, this is Frank, how can I help you, but just Frank. I gave him my name and before I could explain the reason for my call, Frank interrupted with "We're really busy right now, what do you need". I responded with, "I'm sorry to bother you" and hung up the phone. If I was the owner of Norms I would keep Frank in the back room away from the customers. read more

Rude servers. Showed up with hungry kids after baseball game. We were told they were closed. It was 8:40 and they close at 9. Left with crying kids. They must not need the business, I hope they fail. read more

We drive 30 minutes at least, to go to this hangout. Atmosphere is exactly what my homesick Michigander husband needs. The burgers are some of the best we have had around. Pizza is Detroit-style, meaning it is square, and has a crispy crunchy crust all around and tons of extra cheese. Great stuff! read more

I LOVE Norms! My favorite place to eat. Best pizza I ever had! I had a burger last time it was good also. Breakfast a lil spendy but great Bloody Marys. We drive out of our way to go. Good jeans n boots place that you can bring your kids. We like the décor and always had nice and polite staff. I have gone in a large group and just my wife and I. Went to norms to enjoy happy hour. Been there before for pizza which is great. While there today two different waitresses looked at my husband and I. Neither approached our table to take out order. After a 10 min wait we finally got up and left. Have to say service is very poor and we will not he going back for a long time which is to sad as the pizza is great. read more

Have been here several times and it seems that every time we are here they mess something up. The last time we were there 8/2/2015. I specifically request no mushrooms (am am allergic) on my pizza. When the pizza came out I took a huge bite into a mushroom. Thankfully the only thing that happened was that my throat got a little mucus and I had a slight cough (not the normal throat closing and hives) but the waitress basically mumbled an apology and had the kitchen remake my dinner. She didn't apologize for the rest of my party having to wait an extra 30 - 40 minutes for my pizza to come out, she didn't care that I ended up boxing up the whole thing and bringing it home. Nothing was discounted on our bill. I know that it wasn't the waitresses fault it was the kitchen's fault but the least they could have done was a heartfelt apology for trying to send me to the emergency room.... At Norm's for the ribs. All the way there from Missouri! A MUST STOP if you are even barely close! EVERYTHING was good: even the baked beans! My full slab of beans made 2 more meals. Great place and great service when my wife and I stopped by. I couldn't figure out out the "no unattended children" signs until I read the previous review. I have lived in buffalo 4 years and we have had a lack of good restaurants. This is the best by far. The go with the seat your self set up and I think that may be causing the servers to lose track of the tables. they will defiantly get busier and need to seat people. The menu is simple and good. Good pizza, didn't try the burgers but a lot of people ordered them and they looked great. A few quality sandwiches would be cool. I saw they are going to add breakfast on the weekend. We just moved to Buffalo and have been trying to explore what restaurants are good / not so good. We have been to Norms Wayside twice now. Both times food has been excellent--pizza was amazing, almost the best I have ever had!--but the service both times have been less than impressive. Both occasions we have had to flag someone down to help us. Once we received our food, it seemed we were forgotten about. Refills seem to be looked over. When it came time for ticket, our waitress just dropped the ticket and walked off, not saying a single word. Again, food was great, service needs some work. read more

Having eaten here in the past while visiting family, and loving the food, I called to buy a gift certificate for Christmas for the family that lives in Buffalo. I live out of state. When I called and asked if they sold gift certificates, the lady that answered said, "yeah, we do." Then when I asked if they could send a gift certificate to me if I bought one, she said, "no, we don't do that." I guess I'm just really disappointed in this lack of customer service since that is what I was set on getting them for a gift, and I've made this same kind of transaction many times at many places, and have never been told, "no, we don't do that." We just had the most delicious breakfast here! The giant cinnamon rolls were to die for and the chicken breakfast burrito was enormous as promised and very tasty! We love this place. Don't miss their Blues Fest. While you are there be sure to order the Detroit style pizza. It's the best you'll ever find! read more

On Friday October 2nd, my sister Mary and I drove to Buffalo to visit dead family members at the St. Francis Cemetary. I live in Arizona and my sister now lives in Aitken but our entire family originaly hails from the Buffalo, Delano, area for more than 100 years back. She had been taken there by a colleague during a business trip a few weeks earlier and was so pleased she said that is where we should head for lunch. I am so glad we did! We sat at the bar as service tends to be better there. Upon seeing that they had a Reuben sandwich, I jumped all over that as this would be a tribute to my late sister Susan and my late mom who both loved good Reubens. Holy Cow!!!! I have traveled the world and lived in NYC and LA so have had truly authentic Jewish deli food, which anyone familiar with good deli will tell you, is hard to find outside of these locales. I also travel weekly for a living and ironically, my current engagement is in a suburb of Detroit! Imagine my surprise to walk in here, look at a menu that has Detroit style everything all over it! (I had no clue Detroit was famous for anything in the food department! No offense to those from Detroit...I am learning!) Now, back to my dining experience. This Reuben sandwich was equal to any and all Reubens I have had at Katzes deli in NYC and Canters deli in LA. This was REAL corned beef slow cooked,sliced thin and stacked high with all of the fatty goodness oozing from the perfectly grilled marble rye! If there were a way to have this magnificent sandwich sent to me in AZ I would make that happen on a monthly basis at the very minimum. This sandwich is worth the drive if you are a reuben lover, no matter the distance! It is something I will add to my short list of MUST visit places when I am back in MN for family visits. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. We also ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It too was authentic and extremely delicious, staying true to it's southern roots but the Reuben was pure perfection! Order, sit back and enjoy! Thank you Norm for sustaining my faith and committment to mom and pop restaurants versus chains (which when I travel I refuse to patronize) You rock!!! read more
