Norma's is our favorite. Of the many locally run Mexican spots Norma's rises to the top. Wonderful service from Norma herself and delicious food. Everything on the menu is incredible. Don't forget to get a Jamaica.

Spectacular! Small but excellent selection of items on the menu, just a few tables on the porch and street. BYOB, there is a small shop a few doors down to grab a beer.

Food here is okay. It's a nice break from all the other fancy fine dining in the area, and much much cheaper too. Run out of their home and has a few seats under the porch that fills up rather quickly. Once they open, they'll take your order and then bring out the food to you. Generally speaking the food tasted fresh, like really good homemade meal in a good way. There's not a lot of sauces or other condiments on the food itself that masks the flavor. It differs from other restaurants in that the flavor comes directly from the simple ingredients it has. One tiny thing we didn't like about the food is that the meat is saltier than what we expected, and that's basically the flavor of the meat itself. Plenty of spots just parking on the street, but it's a bumpy way in.

The food here was incredible. Best tacos we had in Punta Mita. Get the Gringa! Wonderful service. They don't sell beer but you can buy from the market down the street

Norma's does not disappoint! We went a half block down the street beyond Norma's to get some beer and then came back and had an assortment of tacos which were delicious street tacos. We also asked her for anything that she would recommend and she gave us a chicken quesadilla and then a chicken enchilada. There was another table with a baby and Norma was so wonderful with the baby and the baby was so happy to have Norma hold her. The entire bill was around $7.50 US and since we could we have her much more than that as we wanted to support her business. It was a great experience sitting on a neighborhood street watching the local children play and the sights. I would highly recommend it if you want an authentic Mexico experience!

This place is authentic as it gets. The restaurant is definitely a hole in the wall and is tucked away in a neighborhood. The couple makes their food from their kitchen and table out in front. Food was delicious! Locals were coming through as well. The carne asada tacos were my fav... meat was very tender. Ordered 9 items for about $20... unreal The couple doesn't speak much English but we're very sweet and generous. Would highly recommend this place if you're in the area. I've already been twice in 3 days! My only negative was that they were not wearing masks but it was outdoors so I did feel safe. Tables were spaced out. She used gloves when taking cash.

This place is the real deal. No fuss just fantastic authentic Mexican food. Try the adobada sope. Best I've ever had. Great service and welcoming couple. Punta Mita has plenty of upscale restaurants but give me a good streetside taco any day. You won't be disappointed.

YESSS! NORMA's!!! My favorite taco spot in Punta. These tacos are so unique, I especially appreciate the pickled onions and the freshness the lettuce gives to everything. By the end of the week and couple times eating here I kept coming back to the enchilada adobada, they are unlike any other enchilada I've had--- usually you expect overly cheesy, overly saucy but here it's made to the compliment the weather, cheese on top (parm? Mozz? It was different cheese). The meat is so tasty and not overwhelming. I also got tacos birria and asada too, delish! The birria tacos are saucy and *chefs kiss* with that slightly fried tortilla action. On top of all that Norma and her family are absolutely awesome and friendly. One last thing is please don't be a cheap tourist when you come here-- everything is so affordable but that doesn't mean you should be stiff. Saw some tourists doing that and I was like cmon! You pay four times as much in other places and you're over here worried about a couple pesos... por Dios! Oh and the salsa here compliments everything, don't be afraid of the spice! Love Norma's, can't wait to go back.

Since the service at the actual resort is impeccable, the same carries into the restaurant. Even though you are unfamiliar with the menu and its content, the waiters do a great job patiently explaining everything to you. For a family of 4, we were just looking for light lunch and ordered the guacamole with bacon as an appetizer and catch of the day (mahi mahi) tacos, carne asada, and tacos al pastor all to share. The guacamole was very fresh and they bring out the fresh ingredients and the morcajete (the lava rock bowl) to mix everything on the spot. The tacos and carne asada were also delicious! Not only was the presentation so nicely done so that you can tell you're eating at a nice restaurant inside a nice resort, but the dishes were also prepared very carefully with fresh ingredients. We left lunch feeling not too heavy as I tend to after eating Mexican food. Highly recommend the tacos! The only thing that bothered me were the black birds that kept encroaching and walking on top of neighboring tables. As someone who really doesn't like birds, i was very anxious about them the whole time I was eating. Though this is inevitable because the restaurant is half outdoors, I would have liked to eat my meal without worrying about them. However, this is easily avoidable if you sit towards the center of the restaurant instead of the tables along the outside. Overall, I highly recommend eating here if you're looking for a more casual place to enjoy Mexican cuisine!

Ordered off the menu to avoid hot plate Buffet, but had soggy "crispy" bacon. The worse part was the number of bees / wasps. After spending a few minutes guiding them away from my son and daughter with a waiter helping I asked to move tables. We did and they were just as bad there. We got the check and left 90% of our breakfast (no offer to cover all or part of the check). The previous night we ate there and the view was to die for! Amazing! The spice level on the food was far too much for my wife but the view made it worthwhile. Avoid for breakfast but take in the view in the evening! Hence two and not a single star.

We, along with just one other table, were the only foreigners dining at the restaurant, a good sign if you're interested in eating local food in my opinion. We got some complimentary pico de gallo and chips to start. For appetizer we got a dozen freshly shucked oysters. The oysters from this area are salty and a bit chewier than most oysters you get in the states, or even on the eastern side of Mexico. We specifically came to this restaurant to eat zarandeado fish, a traditional Nayarit method of marinating then grilling the whole fish. You have to choose your fish (they charge by the kilo) then they cook it for you, takes 40-60 minutes. The fish is then served with a cabbage slaw, rice, beans and warm corn tortillas. This fish and its accompaniments made for the best DIY fish tacos we had in Mexico. After drinking my coconut water the coconut was "prepared", in other words sliced and sprinkled with tajin, just add a squeeze of lime and enjoy. All this food as well as a couple of glasses of wine, coconut water and regular flat water cost us $770 Mexican pesos (~43 US$). This is more expensive than just getting tacos at a street stand obviously but it was definitely fairly priced for this setting. Service was so friendly and accommodating.
