I already reviewed this Dr. But now that I have a new Dr, I'm adding an update. I have discovered…read morethis Dr. prescribed me medication I DO NOT need (which I have been taking over a year). I do not recommend this Dr. You cannot be your own advocate. Not only does he talk rudely to you (very arrogant),but he will discuss ALL of your private information in front of other clients (it's how his office is set up). Why even speak in a medical room if THAT is going to happen. If you question why all the blood work (nearly every three months), he will not explain and just have his staff (his wife) call you do inform you that this Dr. has cut you from the practice. Blood work every three months to tell me I need to take vitamins which, by the way, he sells. And will sell you expired vitamins but tell you they are okay to take. Also, if you have any physical concerns he will not look at it directly. Has ZERO interest. He will simply suggest a local whatever Dr. No referral. You are given a business card to call said other Dr. (This was a simple foot issue which did not require said other Dr. - specialist - but ended up having to WAIT over a month to get into other Dr. - specialist who told me I could have had Dr. Lozanov deal with it).

What this doctor won't tell you on their website or any pertaining information is that this doctor…read moreis a "concierge" doctor. And that they will indeed charge you as normal thru insurance. But that they will also charge you a $1200 annual membership fee. On top of insurance. A charge that is not covered by insurance. So basically the oath that the doctor took to help people doesn't matter unless you line his pockets first. Because only if you send me this bribe money will I answer your call or address your health concerns. Otherwise I'm not available. This doctor needs to have his license removed. This goes against everything that their oath stands for.

His site is very misleading, saying he treats the mind body and spirit. It leads one to believe that he is warm and listens. Not even close! I met him because I take my mom to appointments quite often. He was very late and rude, and did not care whatsoever about my mother's thoughts on her own body. He ignored me completely, despite my smiles and polite manners. The receptionist was kind, I feel badly that she has to work for such a cold-spirited man. Such a disappointment. Needless to say, my mother did not renew his rediculois fees. One visit he laughed at how easy it was to get these 'Sonoma softies' to give him all of their money to pay for his lavish lifestyle. There is nothing concierge about his practice at all! He said if you call, you will talk to his staff. That's what he "pays them for, to do their jobs!" he said in a mocking tone! Gross! We are never making this mistake again. We went elsewhere. Please if you decide to see him, speak up for yourself and your loved ones. Ask many many deep questions before you give all that money to him.

I am so glad he directed me to Dr. Bozuk. He is an artist & a great person. He was very personable, very informative, highly skilled, assured, and "available" .... even gave me his personal mobile number in case there may be an urgent question or issue before or afterwards. That is rare. This same hernia repair was attempted 1.5 years prior by a Dr. Edward Alfrey at Marin Health - he was a disaster. Stay away!! His "repair" failed completely, after obliterating my stomach & belly button. The hernia came back with a vengeance, the size of a tennis ball. Plus he was incredibly rude, condescending and dismissive throughout, like he hated his job, hated his patients and just wanted you gone. When I went back post-surgery to show him the recurrence, he told me "You'll just have to live with it." ... "it" being a tennis ball sized hernia. Only afterwards did I read many other "horror story" reviews of Dr. Edward Alfrey. Happy Ending: The next referring surgeon (mentioned above) immediately pronounced the hernia life threatening and referred me to Dr. Bozuk. In Feb '26 Dr. Bozuk used laparascopic surgery to go under the abdominal wall and close up with mesh, etc, from beneath. He also found two other small "budding" hernias he took care of as well. Surgery took 2.5 hours, I was out of the hospital 1.5 hours after completion of surgery. Results - like I never had a hernia. Nightmare ended. I feel very grateful and lucky to have found Dr. Bozuk. Highly recommended.
