I asked the Cashier - Briegia, if the lady was okay because I saw that Briegia was assisting her in the matter along with a couple other employees. She indicated the lady had fallen and cut her head. I bought some air fryer liners for like $3 and the checkout lady was soooo nice!! She had me sign up for their email and I got a $5 coupon for future use. The manager condescendingly told me I had to leave my merchandise because the store was already closed for the night. I informed him that my friend and I were together. He responded that unless we rang up all the items together, I would have to leave my merchandise. I explained that he should not treat customers that way, emphasizing that we are reputable customers, not "beggars," and it was not even five minutes past the closing time. I was standing right next to my friend, browsing the items on sale. I urge corporate to reprimand this manager. His training seems inadequate, and he does not appear qualified for a management position. Another woman on staff was also condescendingly talking back and supporting "Philip." This behavior is unacceptable. We have been loyal patrons of Ross for decades, and this is the first time I have experienced such rudeness, especially from a manager. This interaction ruined what was supposed to be a beautiful night out with my friend. .
