French Dip*
Sara M.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty nice. They served us really quickly and checked in on us quite a bit. Me and my friend got the cilantro and lime chicken tacos as an appetizer and they were amazing, I would strongly recommend ordering them. We also decided to split a french dip, and they actually brought it out for us split onto 2 seperate places which I found to be very thoughtful. I've never had a french dip so I'm not sure how it's supposed to taste but it was pretty good. This place is an unexpected gem in the mall.

You get to shop and eat at the same location without the hassle. That's a big thumbs up! During Saturday lunch hours, the Cheese Cake Factory had 40 min wait and I didn't want to deal with hangryness. Well, this place had a wait list also but didn't mind filling the gap with browsing the children's clothing area nearby. As lunch rush was ending , got the seat by the window with view of the west and the parking lot. So many cars and so many people today. The French onion soup was very good, calamari not so but for the price, I will give 4 stars. The Alderwood salmon and pear was excellent. One of the best salad had. Definitely worth the $21 tag. Sorry. Forgot to take the photo. Take away: Come back for the salad and soup. Skip the wine. The restaurant itself is dying for some updates. The booth seating was flacking off. They had lot of employees for the amount of seating. Not running efficiently. Don't get me wrong but Karen, our server was excellent. I figure they can do better with less with better organizations.

Amazing French Dip.

Favorite casual restaurant in Denver. If anyone asks me, "What do you feel like doing for dinner?" And I don't want to think about it; we always end up at Nordstrom Grill. We consider ourselves to have high standards when it comes to restaurants. Nordstrom Grill checks off all of the primary boxes. Good service. Good food that's always consistent, a reasonable price, and now that they've done some remodel, a pleasant ambiance. The menu isn't huge, but it has variety that most people will find something they like. The French dip is fantastic, one of my favorites in Denver. (It sounds weird to say, but it's true.) And the bar does a good job as well. Oh, and the best part: they have a bar you can grab a drink while you're waiting for your wife to shop!

We came here for dinner last night and they were out of a lot of the food because there were so many kids out of school during the day. I ordered an Amelia and it came with a salt rim instead of sugar, ick! But they took it back and re made it. Our server was good, but her service was kind of slow. After we were done with our first cocktail we wanted to order a bottle of wine and ended up waiting for awhile. When the food came it was overall decent. If you are a vegetarian, there is only 1 option on the menu other and soup

My bestie took me to Nordstrom's Grill for a belated birthday lunch. We used to eat at the Nordstrom's Grill together 30 years prior while going to cosmetology school at the Topanga Plaza in California. I remember how good it was for lunch then and was very impressed with the food. We both had the Chili lime Cilantro Shrimp salad. It was just perfect and very delicious. The dressing was light and tangy and the thinly sliced tortilla chips on top added to the many flavors with a bit of crunch. The dining area was cozy and reminded me of a old Hollywood diner with all the black and white portraits on the walls of movie stars and famous places. Great service, great food and wonderful company.

Food good. Better with the book Dark Matter as a companion.

Ok, back to what you care about, their Happy Hour. For two people we got an Americano Taco, Nachos w/ Chicken, Guacamole, ceviche, and margaritas. The margaritas, for being at a Mexican restaurant, were passable. The mango margarita tasted a little like mango, like a Lacroix version of a mango margarita. This was the least enticing of what we ordered. The Americano Taco was a classic white person taco. Hard shell. Ground beef. Nothing too crazy. It was a taco. The ceviche had delicious plantain chips, which I love, to accompany it and the striped bass. In addition there was pineapple and sweet potato. My problem with the ceviche was that there wasn't a lot of fish in it. The guacamole was well mixed and flavored. Served with potato tortilla chips was nice and they were nice and salty. The best part, the nachos with cochinita pibil were flavorful, filling, and cheesy. I was the most happy with the nachos choice for HH so if you're looking for a good happy hour deal come for the nachos.

TLDR great flavor, slow service…read more Drinks, appetizers, and dessert all took a while. Ironically the entrees were the only thing that came out pretty speedy. Chips/guac were pretty good, but they didn't give us enough guac to match the serving of chips. They also make their own chips, and she said they're supposed to have a floral note, but tbh I wasn't getting much of that. No big deal. Pescado frito tacos were delicious, but I absolutely hate when restaurants pile the ingredients really high in the center of the taco. I guess they do it for presentation, but it's so impractical, and a pain to eat. I tried spreading it out to the sides, but I shouldn't need to do that in the first place; I should just be able to enjoy my food. Everything was inevitably spilling out, and it just wasn't a great experience. Tres leches cake was great. No gripes there. Peach mocktail was extremely sharp; I tasted way more lemon than anything fruity. Ambience is quite nice and comforting. Good view upstairs too.

I love that there's free parking and plenty of it since it's in the DTC. The bartenders make some pretty damn good drinks. I enjoyed my spicy margarita. There's not enough space to enjoy all of the arcade games because my friend and I felt very squished in towards Galaga and Qbert. The biggest downfall is having to buy tokens to play the games instead of just using quarters. I've never tried the food at any of the 1UP locations. I've been to this location twice now and I will be back.

Despite this, if you go anytime during the afternoon/early evening, you'll have plenty of kids there which are supposed to be supervised by their parents but nobody really abided by that rule. All of the games were about the same price you'd find at any arcade. The selection of games were a little underwhelming and all of the claw machines and prize games ran off of a pay-out which meant it wouldn't let you win until it got enough money in it which I thought was pretty lame. The bar itself had some nice deals. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy a beverage and play some games, this place seems like a hit or miss. Also, for an arcade with lots of kids, the amount of vulgar drawings and language in the restrooms were very off-putting. I feel like this place does really well in their other location in downtown Denver, but in Greenwood Village, it is out of place, and just doesn't hit the mark.

We were immediately sat on the patio around 5:45 PM. We were greeted and given "welcome bubbles". What a nice touch. After about 5 minutes, we were finally given menus. Other people were sat around us, so we waited to ask for the happy hour menu. We ordered the chef's choice charcuterie, a cocktail, and a glass of wine. The drinks and board were yum, but not quite a wine bar as there were very limited option by the glass. Also, we had to ask for plates and silverware where this is a basic item. While deciding on dinner, we were approached a couple times by the 2 servers in the section. One was friendly, the other, not so much, rather indifferent and made us feel a little uncomfortable and not very welcome. This kind of set the tone for the rest of our night. We ordered the "family share" chateaubriand. We realize this is an expensive cut, but the portion is definitely not a sharing cut, around 4 oz. It is closer to a single entree. When it arrived, the plate was cold, like the meat was lukewarm and the cauliflower was ice cold. Again, we had to ask for silverware and plates for this "family style shareable" plate. We brought the cauliflower temperature up with the server and got new cauliflower after we were done with the rest of the meal. Also, I sat with an empty wine glass and no one stopped to ask if I needed another glass. When the servers did stop by, it was a short interaction and we never even had a chance to ask before they were already walking away. We saw so many people come in and out that they must be doing something right, but for us, our experience was mediocre. If our meal would have been the correct temperature (it was well prepared, just cold) and better execution on the service, we may have had a better experience.
