I recently had my transmission worked on by Norco Transmission. This business came highly rated from multiple technicians in the auto repair business. Initially reluctant, I walked in and introduced myself to Joey (Owner/Transmission Master). Because of my love for my old rickety Jeep, it was tough handing the keys over, but I later would welcome an invite for this fine gentleman to babysit my children! Besides the expected downtime without her (My Jeep), when I jumped back in and drove off, WOW, did this transmission install give her a new lease on life. Aubrey, the actual installing technician clearly could work anywhere he wants with his talents, but why would he? Norco Transmissions left me with no need to worry about the operation of my transmission for my remaining years! Thank you so much, Joey and Aubrey!! You two have had me smiling while driving her, since! read more

We recently had a new transmission and clutch installed in our grandson's Ford Fiesta and couldn't be happier with the results. The owner Joe was prompt, professional, and the final product exceeded our expectations. Our grandson was happy to have his car back up and going in less than a week. We would definitely use them again in the future and recommend it to others. The Browns read more

Called to ask for a quote on a rebuild and the guy asked "what's wrong" I told him; I need a benchwork rebuild on a pulled transmission, I have for a project truck and it's not installed yet. The transmission is shot and I just want a new build. His response was; "no we have to do the whole job" so apparently he wasn't going to make enough off me since he wasn't going to pull the transmission out or install it in. Poor business decision as I was trying to keep business in town, both Riverside transmission center and Betos transmission offers you to drop off the transmissions if your that knowledgeable. This guy only works with you if you know nothing about vehicles...strange. read more

My truck has been in my family for 45 years. I received it as its 2nd owner one year ago. Since that time I've been slowly fixibg, restoring and bringing it back to life. It is a 1970 Ford Ranger XLT. The C6 transmission began operating with bad shift patterns , no kick down etc....It had sat for 6 years! Upon recommendation from a friend I took it to Norco Transmission on Hamner. Joe Rossi is the owner and we hit it off right away. He had heard of my daughters illness and really wanted to help. After only 7 days of intensive work researching a tranny that was put together with several different years worth of parts he brought it back better than ever. His compassion and love for his craft had me recommending to my closest friend Dave McAllister to bring in both of his vehicles for repair. Both of us now have lifetime repair facilities.... Norco Transmission is the best! read more

We were was skeptical at first due to the reviews however, we decided to give them a try and glad we did. I can't really say this experience was BAD, as we didn't really get helped. They said they would check out my car to figure out what's going on. I gave it to them for five hours and when we didn't get a call back, I called them. They said, "oh, we need some more time because it's more complicated than we anticipated." Unfortunately I had work the next day and couldn't leave me car overnight yet, so I had to come pick it up. Came by and the car was in the exact same spot, unmoved (you could tell it hadn't been moved since the tires hadn't been moved from the turning position from when we pulled in). So instead of just being up front and saying "we didn't have time to check it out - sorry about that", they lied and said it was more complicated. Their only redeeming factor is that Joe is VERY nice. While I didn't agree with their organization, Joe was a very nice guy to talk to on the phone and at the desk while he took our info.... Unfortunately, I need more than a nice guy when it comes to my car. I need action, which we didn't get. read more

Beware of this guy.I took my truck cause I was having problems with the transmission.he told me to leave it and he would call me to update me later.it was getting pretty close to closing and he never got back to me.I decided to go to the shop to see what's going on.when I got there he told me that they can't do anything until I take care of the problem with the check engine light.I'm thinking really,he had it a few hours and he didn't have the decency to call and let me know.the next day I decided to get under my truck to work on something totally unrelated when I happened to see that all the transmission bolts were loose.I'm sorry but I'm not a mechanic but anyone knows that those bolts will not come loose on there own.so that's what they did all that time they had it.they loosened up the bolts on the transmission hoping that it would be ruined and have to replaced.totally unacceptable and immoral.will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I bought my vehicle to have it service because of the delayed shifting when cold. It was unusual to have a shop use my vehicle to drop me off at home and back to the shop. Then, also picking me up from home to go pick up my car. After paying over a couple of grand, I was given broken parts that would mean that my transmission was shredded at 20,000 original miles. The transmission never made any grinding noises that would result from the broken parts I received. The next day, the car still was doing the same thing. So, back in the shop it went, using my vehicle as a shuttle service, instead of their own like any other repair shops or dealerships. They kept my vehicle longer than the first time. Finally, they had to tighten the bands, which they said that it wasn't done at the factory. Joe appeared disappointed with the correct diagnosis. My vehicle was working well since. However, tightening the bands should not cost over $2,000, even with the 3 years or 36,000 miles warranty. Their website said that the warranty can be used nationwide as they were certified nationally, but I later came to find out that I can only use that particular shop for repairs. read more

Joe does great work will only use this place for transmission work. Super friendly place.

Joe, thank you. I was stranded with my wife at four corners travel center on the way home from Mammoth with a blown transmission in our Chevy Suburban. Joe responded quickly on a Friday night to an email I sent him, coordinated the drop off at his shop 100 miles away with the tow truck driver, and confirmed delivery. He called me promptly on Monday morning, gave me a reasonable quote and had it done in two days. Saved all the shattered parts and explained the issues with the parts, and delivered the completed job on time with a 3 year warranty. Very professional and polite, prompt and courteous. I highly recommend Joe and Norco Transmission Center. read more

I took my car to Norco transmission about 3 years ago. They quoted a lower price at first and them charged me an additional $1,500 to repair the transmission. About 2 years later I started having problems and then this last May another mechanic told me it was the transmission. By this time it was out of warranty but I only put about 32,000 miles on the car from the first transmission job to the second one. They charged me another $3,000 to fix the transmission the second time. When I asked Joe the owner what the problem was he said "bad parts", Now mind you I didn't bring the parts in they were ordered by this business and that's what caused the second repair job. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE CROOKS. WASTING YOUR MONEY read more

First, let me say that in general I try and support small local businesses and I really wanted to give Norco Transmission a try at my business. Joe the owner seems like a nice guy at first, and he does a good job of appearing knowledgeable and professional when you drop your car off. As soon as you have paid him however, the kind helpful attitude stops . Every time you take a car in, expect at least a $2,000 bill whether you need it or not. I realized how much of a crook this guy is after I brought in my Toyota truck, and he quoted me a $3,000 job, and I went to A1 and they did it for half the price. Besides being the most expensive shop in town, he does not stand by his work. On one occasion after I had him do some work I started having malfunctions with my transmission/overdrive which I found was not covered at all by his "warranty". After having multiple cars worked on and spending over $6,000 in his shop he didn't even have the decency to take a look at my car. On several jobs, his shop made careless mistakes such as losing screws, and other errors which led to my transmissions being better off before I even came in. His warranties cover absolutely nothing related to any of the work he does. Overall, this guy is your typical snake oil salesman huge waste of time and money. Go somewhere else! read more

It's hard trusting a mechanic with your car especially when you're a female who knows nothing about them! Joey (the owner) was a pleasure to deal with. He was extremely personable and gave me a heck of a deal. Initially took my car to Hemborg & they wanted over 6 grand to put in a new engine! Not sure how an engine went bad on a car that's only 3 years old, but it happened! I got my car back today and I'm loving it! Feels like a new car! He even gave me a follow up call a few hours later to make sure I was happy with the repairs. I will not be taking my car to anybody else! read more

Great work and great experience. Joe and his team communicated well, keeping me abreast of what was needed and timelines. worst experience ever getting transmission fixed total of 22 days here they said we dont count weekends so it was only 18 ,,was overcharged estimate was 2400 to start then went up to $3500 .my car was left on empty , i had left it with half a tank . car seats were left soiled with grease and so were floor mats and car panels , my car was left ouside with windows open full of dirt , had to have a rental for 20 of those days , this was so dissapointing will never return to this place and was only given 3month warranty until it became so long they extened it to 6 like that was to much and they never do this .. if you cant warranty your work for a year you shouldnt be open ..if there was a zero star Rating i would of chose that ..Im very dissapointed i made such a mistake should of taken my car to Lexus never trust this place again .. read more

Had a transmission problem and called them to see if they could look at it if I had it towed there. They said they could. Had it towed there Friday morning. Didn't hear from them by 5 so I called. They didn't have a chance to look at it so it would have to sit there over the weekend. Called Monday afternoon when I hadn't heard from them and they still had not looked at it. They called back later and said they needed an authorization for $400 to remove console and diagnose. I authorized and they said they would call back that evening with their findings. They didn't call. Went to the business the next morning and found the car in their outside parking lot. They had not started the work. I wound up having the car towed from this business at 1000 am to another location. The new shop had my car fixed and ready to be picked up by the end of the day at a cost of less than $150. Very disappointing! read more

Second vehicle I've taken to Joe with transmission problems. Just got my sons 2009 Scion xB with over 173,000 miles on it back from the shop after needing a complete transmission rebuild. They did a fantastic job and the car runs as good as it did when it was brand new. Joe is a stand up guy that tells you like it is and is more than fair in his pricing. Dropped the car off at the shop on Wednesday and had it back by Friday afternoon. Quick and reliable service. read more

Will never take our cars there again. The people working there are not competent, it took 2 wks for them to fix the clutch and then my husband had to go pick up a part that they could not fix repaired it himself and then returned it to be installed. I have used this shop three times. Never had a problem with their quality. Transmissions are complicated components and a cheap job is not what you want. There's lots of things they could do to make it cheap and you wouldn't know for a while. The price range of clutches and torque converters is very wide. Ultimately, it's up to you. Do you want cheap and fast? Then go to a chain. Do you want quality that will last? Then these guys are the place to go. read more

Do not take your car here!!! Joe is a crook and a liar and he does not know what he is doing. He never fixed the issue we took it in for, instead he messed with a bunch of other stuff that didn't need fixing which screwed up our car worse, so when we took it back, his other employee tried to help us and Joe got mad at him. He was doing his job and giving us the right customer service. And Joe wouldn't let him. Well our car hasn't worked the same ever since and when we went to pay the bill it was over $500 more than what he said it would be, because he tore into other parts of the car with out asking us. He's a horrible person. This place needs to be shut down. I just feel bad for the good guys with integrity who work there and try to do their job right. Joe will not let them. He takes over every project and ruins everything. Then when we took it back he wanted to charge us more for fixing what he broke. .. There is so much more, not enough room. So just trust me. STAY AWAY!!!!! He will take all your money and never fix it. Look at the rest of the comments. I'm mad at myself for not reading the reviews on this guy first. If i could give negative stars i would.. read more

Went there for some transmission issue and Joe the owner is such a pleasure with great customer service. They rebuild the transmission and did an awesome job. Ask for Joe he helped me out tremendously. I have a Honda and the transmission started to slip randomly while driving at a high speed and low speed. I dropped my car off at 1:00pm, about to walk back to school and they offered and gave me a ride. (No charge) When I arrived at 4:15pm they had already finished the tranny check(no charge) but of course with my luck, my car didn't act up for them. Yet they didn't try and charge up the ying yang for a bunch of services that weren't necessary. Including their buissness card to call them if my cars tranny starts to slip again, they gave me a card in case I needed a tow (i work in corona and orange county)with no charge to me. I feel they truley care and I will definitely be returning. Most places won't give an extended warranty and they did place a cover over my carpets to keep grease off my interior, and my cars tank was still completely full.(I was worried after I read these reviews)but not now. read more

I went in to see what my problem was. I've never had a transmission go out, so I didn't know what to expect. Instead of giving me an estimate, they took my truck apart, and told me it was either $500 to put it back together, or an additional $2000 ($2500 total) to fix it. I paid the total. I drove it off the lot. And the sound that I took it in for was still there. They charged me another $200 to fix what I originally brought it in for. I'd avoid these folks at all cost. read more
