Called and spoke with Shante and made an appointment to remove my mid-muffler and replace it with pipe. The very next morning it was up on the rack. Shante did an excellent job removing the old worn out muffler and cut and shaped the pipe insert perfectly. After welding in the new pipe, he even went above and beyond and sanded my back muffler and painted it with high temp protective paint to keep me going a few more years. This review is intended as a warning to people like me, who were attracted to this shop BECAUSE of previous positive reviews listed, location - for those who live near Roseville, and the initially "perceived" flexibility on business hours and appointments. BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: Due to this awful experience at this shop, at great cost to me both financially and my stress levels, I have become very well educated with muffler installs, good vs bad professionals, and key signs to look for in a muffler shop that is managed well . I also learned about best welding techniques, i.e., TIG-MIG vs garbage - which is what I ended up with from Shanti. To fix the mess he handed back to me I had to go to West Coast Muffler in Citrus Heights, which I can recommend to anyone. I can also easily recommend Muffler Tech in Sacramento. ***For context and details read below. I am an active-duty military, family man, local resident, recently purchased a brand-new Challenger 6.4 scat pack widebody, and brought with an also brand new (*and expensive) MagnaFlow X-mod kit to be installed by Shanti at NorCal Muffler. BTW, I consider myself someone extremely understanding and patient, since I realize we are far from perfect and have all fallen short. And it takes A LOT to get me upset, but after 3 separate visits and a lot of nonsense thus far - I can say am pretty upset now! * And just so we are clear: I better not hear anymore BS laced with profanity beyond this review, OR I will post pictures and print screens of prior text conversations had. We shall have the truth!!! After spending a combined total of close to 10 hours *(yes, you heard that right) in my first 2 visits one learns a lot about the shop and Shanti. And despite that many hours, he simply could not get the system install right. Mind you, during our initial talks/texts, he lured me in saying he install my system "with his eyes closed". However, after almost 10 combined hours, a damaged kit, and improper fitments all over, I am hearing from him that: "Well, when working on a piece of art, Michelangelo needed time and he was not rushed". Just unbelievable narcissism! BTW, Westcoast installed the same kit, from scratch in 1.5 hrs. *Main difference: They read every step of the instructions IN DETAIL executing accordingly, per manufacturer. *I recall when I first pulled up on my very first visit, I could smell a strong stench of marijuana, and noticed the guy who helps around in his shop spraying air freshener as I literally drove my car towards the bldg. Install originally estimated to be around 2.5hrs, instead took almost 6hrs!!! INSANE! For comparison, the guys at West Coast Muffler installed the whole kit that I replaced with seller (and that replacement was a headache for me) in 1.5 hours. I watched the whole thing with them as I did with Shanti as well! He seems to live in a bubble and believes we as customers are either stupid or unable to drive to other shops to get a second opinion, or service it there instead. He thinks he is being clever, when he clearly did not want me to see the debacle. BTW, I must agree with fellow one start reviewer Cody Elder's review, and I must admit drugs appear to be an issue here. During my nightmare 6hrs install on first visit, I kept asking him multiple times to look at the install instructions, which he continually ignored tossing it aside, choosing to struggle with things for which answers WERE clearly stated in manual. When I brought car back in on 2nd visit, I pointed to the instructions again and he tells me he wishes he would have had the instructions the night of!!! Also, all night long he constantly misplaced his tools and kept looking for them, and that took a substantial amount of time that evening. In the end, he cut a important part of my brand new kit needlessly, because he did not properly loosen the cats up front like manual said on 2 separate important parts. That was crucial to get the clearances right! That cost me a great deal! Instead, he welded a piece of garbage rod in lieu of as a half as measure, which fell off the very next day! read more

My buddy brought in his new Camaro ZL1 1LE today to get a simple axle back muffler system installed. Booked appoint and expected 2 hour wait. We ubered home and never got a call back. After a long time of no communication, and I mean hours. We still haven't heard a word. Went to the shop to see what was going in n due to no calls returned and come to find out the car hasn't been touched. Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality I had an appointment scheduled to put some exhaust on my husband's truck. I showed up on time for my appointment at 830 am and no one was there! I waited, rang the doorbell multiple times, called their number numerous times and left messages, wrote them a message on Instagram and nothing!! I even went to the neighboring businesses to see if anyone had contacts for them! I waited for a whole hour and no one showed up or called me back! Still a day later I have received no phone call to apologize for missing my scheduled appointment and no reply on Instagram. First off I brought my car in for a so called "custom bolt on" muffler delete and had to wait 3+ hours for the job to be done for some subpar work. That already was $400. Fast forward a year later, I decided I wanted to sell the car as stock and want to take off this muffler delete and replace it with my stock mufflers. Turns out this shop placed my clamps on way to tight and it bent the piping together, so now it's stuck together. I brought the car back to them to see if they could fix it and they said it'll be an extra $225 for them to fix their mistake. Do not come here, go to any other muffler shop instead. Forced me to come in person but didn't look at the car, when they could've just quoted me their insane quote over the phone and saved my time. Looking for a simple routine muffler/res delete. A quick cut to remove and bend/weld a pipe in place. I think they said $800 if not more. Let me start by saying I drive a 2021 Dodge Charger GT. I had been wanting to install two Flowmaster Super 10s for a while now. I of course called around a bunch of different places for quotes. Some didn't want to install them if I didn't buy them from them which is ridiculous. Especially when its the same product. Then I landed on this spot. I spoke to the owner about what I wanted and he had me drive in to give me different options before I started work on my car. He had me listen to different exhaust systems before I finally decided on the Super 10s. Let me tell you this dude is LEGIT. He may have taken a little longer the other places but his work is top notch. He is very precise on his work. My car sounds sick and he added some new tips. I can not recommend NorCal Muffler enough! I called around to about 4-5 muffler shops to get quotes for a cat back exhaust install on my Focus ST and NorCal Muffler was by far the nicest over the phone. Not only did they get my appointment scheduled very fast, but they were on time and super cool right off the bat. Thank you Kumar and Shanti (I hope I remembered your names correctly!)!!! They finished the install in the exact time they told me it would take. I also had them check on another part of my car and they gave me good advice going forward as to what direction I could go with fixing something. They also have a dope waiting area that is stocked with water, soda, juice, etc. You will definitely have a nice spot to wait compared to pretty much any other muffler shop in the greater Sac area. These guys know what they are doing. If I need anything done to my ST again, I know where to go. read more

I made a terrible (stupid) decision to allow this shop to install a resonator on my new Ford Ranger (lazy one-day). $260 to install a $30 part. I got lured in with the email statement "If we can't do it, nobody can" They welded it on (will void my warranty if any future electronic-computer issues surface). I would have never had the work preformed if I had thought to ask if welding was involved (my fault). In addition the poorest quality welds I had ever seen (I've been certified to weld since 1983 and trained newbies that could run a mig welder better), I'm also a retired dealer auto-fleet mechanic and had a severe lack of judgement using this business. Now I had to order-install a "Real" resonator, clamps to correct the issue and preserve my factory warranty. There's many high quality exhaust shops that have been in business for decades and would highly recommend choosing one of them. Purchased a used Jeep Wrangler to tow behind our motorhome. Previous owner removed muffler and it was open exhaust behind the cat. Showed up and explained that I wanted a quiet as stock muffler as the noise was unbearable. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and the waiting room and shop was clean and neat. He told me he had a muffler that would be quiet as OEM. I agreed and waited while they installed it. When the work was done they showed me what they did. I admit the work was nice and clean however they installed a 4 chamber knockoff Flowmaster style muffler. He told me that it was as quiet as he could get it. I drove it home and it was almost as loud as no muffler at all. I called him on the phone and asked if he could change the muffler. He said that there was nothing he could do as that was the quietest muffler they had. He would "look into it and call me back" 3 weeks later I haven't heard back. So today I'm looking for another muffler shop to put a stock muffler on. Feel like I wasted $280 and a couple hours of my time. If you're looking for performance exhaust this is your place. If you want just a stock exhaust, keep looking. read more
