I booked and when I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by a very aloof, spacey receptionist. She was very rude and seemed drugged. Not really on it and very lackadaisical. I have American insurance from my company and its not worth using it overseas. I mentioned this to her and she seemed irritated that I was paying out of pocket. Visit with the dentist was rather rushed. He seemed to have another patient on the go. The whole time, the dentist insulted the work that my dentist had done recently. In my opinion, I have paid very well for my veneers and I see my dentist close to 3 times a year and have never required a filling in the last 6 years. Went to pay the bill for the cleaning and exam. The receptionist was on her phone texting the whole time, only looking away to pass me the debit machine and to rip off the receipt. I stood there for a few moments waiting and she looked up at me. "That's all. Do you need anything?" Yeah, my merchant receipt and treatment receipt. "Oh yeah... here you go". Definitely not a fan and will wait to visit my dentist in Dallas next time. In fact, I'm going to get another check up the minute I get home because the whole thing felt so rushed that I cannot trust that the work was done properly. Avoid this office if you want a second rate experience.

When I called to ask why it was billed that way the person on the phone gave me a long winded answer saying basically telling me I will get another bill when it is fitted as the quote was $600 and at that time it will be sent in again to my insurance . I possibly may get money back at that time. First off I never received a quote and I had assumed at the check up appointment the pre authorization had gone through like it had been done on previous occasions however it was not done. Second why was I charged 559 dollars straight up as the girl on phone said it could be more or less and we do not know until the time of the fitting. To me it sounds like a billing error occurred and I would have been very happy had the girl on phone just come up with something that that is odd our usual process is ....: and we do not submit until the gaurd is made. Rather than a 5 min convoluted explanation on how she bills. I had just started coming back to you guys and booking my family back in after a period away because of service and billing. I am having second thoughts again as your clinic does charge larger fees and I was willing to use you for convenience and pay extra as I live in Yaletown but this experience is souring me again.

For many years, I had nothing but grade "A" experiences with Parkview Dental in Vancouver. Dr…read more Ayoughi is very skilled at what he does and is extremely welcoming and the front staff has been fantastic! Unfortunately over my last few visits, I found myself in the hands of other dentists at the clinic and to be honest it felt like I was experiencing student work. Everything from not being given the "lead bib / Apron" during multiple ex-rays (They started with it, then had to redo the ex-rays a few times and No Bib) to dealing with a student assistant that was very nervous and not knowing the instruments (the original assistant called in sick at the last minute) to being put almost upside down while getting a root canal (Very uncomfortable Position!), to having temp filing pop-out. The last 3 visits were 1) A root canal and crown, (not done by Dr.Ayoughi) I had to return 3 times due to temp falling out and pain. The first time they re-cemented the temp that had poped-out, the 2nd time they tried adjusting the crown with no success 2 weeks after installing it. 3) The third time I was still in pain, I demanded to bee seen by Dr. Ayoughi and he was very nice in explaining what might be going on and did more adjustments and told me his assistant would check-in with me in 1 week or 2 to see how I felt as he was leaving on Vacation and she did, she left a message as I was unable to answer the call at the time. I returned the call that evening and left a message saying that I was still in pain, at that point it became "Radio silence" never heard back! I had to go to another Dental clinic to get checked and that's where they told me that the root canal was excellent but the crown was to close to the bone and that was the pain / discomfort I was feeling. 2 options were given to me 1) an expensive surgery to repair the problem or 2) let time do the work and allow bone matter to grow. Parkview Dental was one of the very best service I'd ever receive in a dental clinic, until I was switched around without being asked and passed around to other dentists in the clinic, then the quality of work went downhill. I unfortunately had to move on to an other clinic. The front staff has always been good and accommodating. PS: That was not my first root canal, I've had a few, so I'm well aware of how it should go and feel.

This was the worst dentist office I have ever visited. I came in for a cleaning this morning…read more(routine). Instead, of a cleaning, they processed me for 5m, took some x-rays and proceeded to clean half my teeth (the bottom half) before sending me on my way... They also lied and told me I needed two fillings due to a cavity and a groove in my tooth. When I got a second opinion (from my old family dentist), none of these things were found. When I inquired as to if this was normal. I was told that due to my being 15m late, I would have to schedule another appointment (since apparently cleanings take about 1.5hr at this place). My thoughts: I was late so I accept that it will cut into my appointment. However.. 1.5hr is not a reasonable expectation for a routine cleaning. I've seen 3 different dentists in the last 5 years (due to my being a traveling consultant), and the longest session I've had was 45m in San Francisco. If cleanings are 1.5hr regularly for new patients. Why was I not informed of this. All they did in the session today was scrape my bottom teeth (no fluoride or anything else). edit: they also lied and said that I needed two fillings due to a cavity and an apparent groove in one of my teeth. Obviously I went for a second opinion to my family's dentist. To my (not) surprise, my family's dentist said there was no cavity. He also showed me the x-rays that he had taken of me from last June and compared it to the ones which Brentwood Dental Group forwarded. The difference was like night and day. The x-rays from Brentwood Dental group were grainy and you 'could' argue that there was a cavity there (there was a shadow in a very murky and grey picture). My family dentist's x-rays were crisp and clear (the contrast between white and black was very crisp). He then showed me the areas which I had been told had a cavity and told me that in his opinion, it was fine. There was no pain and there wouldn't have been that much degradation since last June. There was no need to unnecessarily drill my teeth unless I really wanted to. I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this dentist group as they run the place like an apple store. Hiding under the guise of expertise to upsell you bullshit you don't need.

So when I developed an abscess today the pain out weighed my fear and I called Dr Wong's clinic. I explained my phobia and current dental issue and they assured me that they would take good care of me. At first I thought they were just luring me in to inflict pain upon me equal to listening to a person with tourettes read "40 Shades of Grey". I was wrong, the whole staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and not be ashamed of fear and state of dental care. They got me in on a busy day within 20 minutes of my mumbling phone call as well. While Dentists still freak me the hell out, Dr Wong is an exception, kind, laid back and not one to attempt to pad a bill. He made me feel like I did not have a phobia at all. My only issue was with him showing Mr. Bean on the TV.

Very disappointed now - I hadn't seen a dentist in 2 years when I saw them for a complete checkup…read moreand cleaning (when I first wrote the review) and at the time complained of a lot of pain in a molar. Dentist said it was likely just a gum infection and said there was no need for xrays, since they got mine transferred from my old dentist (taken 2 years earlier). I trusted him. So next year I go to my original dentist and they do new xrays (puzzled why the last dentist didn't do any given the pain in my molar and the 2 year period) and turns out I had a really bad cavity, NOT A GUM INFECTION. I almost had to get a root canal and lost half my tooth because it was in a strange place in between the molars and progressively got worse in a year, even with all the flossing that I was recommend by this dentist. My original dentist said this dentist did not do their due diligence and that they should have done an updated xray to double-check instead of just guessing it was gum infection, especially due to the pain I described and that the xrays were old. In the end this dentist cost me more money and more pain from not doing his job properly. Don't go here, they are unorganized, receptionists rude, and Dr. obviously incompetent in thoroughly checking into problems.

The dentist, Dr. Shojaei, was not particularly friendly or communicative. I know the Fed. dental plan doesn't cover 100% but the extra was higher than average. I was phoned by the office mgr. with a time and date to fix the cavity. He didn't like it when I said I would make my own appts. I was anxious about going and asked if I could have an ativan. I was told that I had to come in 1 hr. ahead of the appt. to be monitored. I explained that my nerve compression wouldn't allow me to sit for 2 hrs. and wanted to explain the problem to the dentist. She wouldn't talk to me, just told the receptionist what to say. When I got there I still didn't get a chance to talk to her except to say I needed to walk around a bit before sitting for a long time. Knowing how I react to this and that it takes 30 min. to 1 hr. to take effect I went next door to get some cat food. I was chased down by the receptionist to come back right now. It was publicly humiliating and the pill was still dissolving under my tongue so I was clearly not incapacitated. I returned within15 min. of leaving and was told by the receptionist that Dr. Shojaei would not see me. She was punishing me for not following her rules. She never came out to speak to me herself, just dumped it on her receptionist. We could have discussed this ahead of time to find a solution. She never did speak to me, just banned me. I now have had proper x-rays done and I do not have a cavity. I never did receive an invoice. This is a very dysfunctional place and also dishonest. Spare yourself.

I chose to come here after moving into the area because I thought it was super convenient. However,…read morethe convenience is not worth it. The hygienist I had was great and very friendly but all the other staff seemed to be stuck up, rude or just unhappy to be there. The dentists themselves do good enough work but have terrible chair-side manner and show no personal interest and it's the same with the assistants- it seems to be all strictly business all the time and is not a welcoming or comforting environment- it feels overly clinical. After only two visits (1 cleaning and check up and one to have fillings done), I decided to take my business elsewhere. Even though I can't walk to my new dentist, the difference between the two places is like night and day. I suppose it's a good enough option for students living on campus and others who may not want to commute/drive elsewhere, but if you have the option to go elsewhere, I would.

At the time, Dr. Yee appeared to be invested in his patients spending a reasonable amount of time per appointment. As time as passed it seems that my time with the dentist were getting shorter and shorter. Before I stopped going to this clinic, Dr. Yee was extremely late, and the time spent with him was (what felt like) less than 1 minute. He didn't even see me the last time I went! It honestly feels like Dr. Yee has figured out being a dentist and now he's more focused on being an entrepreneur, expanding his office and hiring more dental hygienists. As of my last experience I give 1 star, but honestly he does quality work. My orthodontist complimented the Veneer work that Yee did so +2 stars for that. Oh, the secretarial staff is best described as brusque.
