Dr.Lum always makes a point to check in with me throughout my appointment, and explains everything she is doing so I always know what to expect. Everything in the office is top of the line and they are exceptionally clean. I've always found the front desk staff to be friendly and definitely haven't experienced the "up sell" that others have complained of.

I found Dr Ayoughi to be very easy going, friendly, knowledgeable and funny! Implants can feel a bit scary somehow, but I actually enjoyed coming to the clinic! The staff at Parkview are amazing. From hygenists, to dental assistants, to office coordinator, to admin staff, every one is friendly and efficient. I have recently decided to become a patient at ParkView.....it is a great dental office and I highly recommend.

For many years, I had nothing but grade "A" experiences with Parkview Dental in Vancouver. Dr…read more Ayoughi is very skilled at what he does and is extremely welcoming and the front staff has been fantastic! Unfortunately over my last few visits, I found myself in the hands of other dentists at the clinic and to be honest it felt like I was experiencing student work. Everything from not being given the "lead bib / Apron" during multiple ex-rays (They started with it, then had to redo the ex-rays a few times and No Bib) to dealing with a student assistant that was very nervous and not knowing the instruments (the original assistant called in sick at the last minute) to being put almost upside down while getting a root canal (Very uncomfortable Position!), to having temp filing pop-out. The last 3 visits were 1) A root canal and crown, (not done by Dr.Ayoughi) I had to return 3 times due to temp falling out and pain. The first time they re-cemented the temp that had poped-out, the 2nd time they tried adjusting the crown with no success 2 weeks after installing it. 3) The third time I was still in pain, I demanded to bee seen by Dr. Ayoughi and he was very nice in explaining what might be going on and did more adjustments and told me his assistant would check-in with me in 1 week or 2 to see how I felt as he was leaving on Vacation and she did, she left a message as I was unable to answer the call at the time. I returned the call that evening and left a message saying that I was still in pain, at that point it became "Radio silence" never heard back! I had to go to another Dental clinic to get checked and that's where they told me that the root canal was excellent but the crown was to close to the bone and that was the pain / discomfort I was feeling. 2 options were given to me 1) an expensive surgery to repair the problem or 2) let time do the work and allow bone matter to grow. Parkview Dental was one of the very best service I'd ever receive in a dental clinic, until I was switched around without being asked and passed around to other dentists in the clinic, then the quality of work went downhill. I unfortunately had to move on to an other clinic. The front staff has always been good and accommodating. PS: That was not my first root canal, I've had a few, so I'm well aware of how it should go and feel.

I've also found their process frustrating, with multiple consultations, difficulty booking appointments, and a feeling that I'm getting the runaround or that I'm just a walking invoice. For example, I booked an appointment for a cleaning, only to be told that they could only fit me in for half a cleaning and that I would need to book the second half months later. Who only books a half cleaning? What a waste of my time! Now I have to book two afternoons off work. Also, after my new patient exam at Hastings, I was referred to their Broadway location regarding a couple of teeth (possible root canal). At that appointment, I was told I could also get a second opinion at a completely different location if I wanted one. I was confused - just give me the root canal. Why did the original dentist at Hasting (who is the Owner by the way) refer me to Broadway, where I was told I could get a second opinion somewhere else? Why doesn't the Owner have the expertise to tell me these things? I've now seen three different dentists over the period of a few months. So, needless to say, I'm not loving the lack of consistency. Anyway, I am frustrated because I've been taking time off work for appointments that don't always result in a clear decision or completed treatment, and I continually have to book another appointment for something else. My insurance coverage for the year is running out, and I still need a root canal, which I might not have enough coverage to pay for because of their inefficiency. That said, I do feel their staff provides good-quality work. I've had one half clearing and one filling done, and from what I can tell, it was done well. As for the environment, some people may appreciate the concrete, minimalist design of the office, but I find it cold and impersonal. Because it concrete building, concrete floors and walls, the office is loud. You hear drilling and all kinds of sounds happening around the office. It's just very buzzy and echo-y, which doesn't make for a relaxing dental experience. What this all boils down to is that I am now looking for a new dentist. I don't want to keep giving this dental office my time and money because I disagree with how they run their business.

I have recommended them to all of my friends, and have heard back that they too will never book anywhere else. Life dental is unlike any other dental experience I have ever had; they are very professional and I find my healing time is quicker than ever. The proof is in the pudding. I booked an appointment for my daughter. The staff was helpful, the assistant was supportive and the dentist ( Dr. Mitchell) was super friendly to my daughter, making her comfortable and giving me clear information about the treatment required. Unfortunately, the clinic doesn't provide the service, but, based on my experience there, I would hugely recommend this clinic.

I went in for a single cracked molar that a different dentist, Dr. Wedman, had identified and…read morescheduled to fix. Dr. Wedman went on parental leave before my appointment, and I was reassigned to Dr. Baird, who I had not met before. Once I was numbed, outfitted with a mouth dam and therefore unable to speak easily, Dr. Baird said cavities often come in pairs and asked to look at the tooth next to the cracked one. I agreed to a look. Without first confirming my consent to any work, he drilled into and filled that second tooth as well. He then found a chip on a third tooth and said he'd fix it "as charity," at no charge. Later in the appointment, after adjusting my bite, he asked if he could shave down part of an untouched, healthy top tooth so it wouldn't sit too high on the brand new filling. I said no, I'd prefer he didn't. He did it anyway. I left having had three teeth worked on instead of the one I came in for, my face covered in tooth dust that no one wiped down until I was handed a wet wipe afterward, and a healthy tooth altered without my consent after I explicitly declined. When I got the bill, the tooth I was told would be free showed a real charge. I'm still working with the office to sort that out, but the billing issue is secondary to the larger problem: a dentist who did not respect a direct "no" during treatment. Georgia Dental's own website quotes Dr. Baird saying "the best dentistry begins with listening." That is the exact opposite of my experience in the chair. Dr. Baird did not listen to me at all. I would not see Dr. Baird again and would think carefully before returning to this office.

That said, I would like to commend Dr Hua. He has been my dentist for the last few years, and while I expect that I will never again find a dentist as cheap as my previous one, I haven't felt that Dr Hua or Brentwood Dental has over-charged me in any of my visits. I don't carry any dental insurance, so I must admit that I do tend to only visit the dentist only when I can no longer avoid it. Most recently, I visited Dr Hua for the extraction of two wisdom teeth. The initial consultation included a 3d x-ray and a very clear explanation of what was needing to happen, and the range of what it would cost. One of them had disintegrated and I knew that I could not prolong dealing with them any longer. The procedure took under an hour and I wasn't even aware that Dr Hua was wrapping up, he was that smooth. It was as painless as can be expected for local anesthetic, I have no doubts about the quality of work and, happily, came in at the low end of the cost estimation. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend Brentwood Dental, assuming that all the dentists there are of equal quality to Dr Hua.

Visit with the dentist was rather rushed. He seemed to have another patient on the go. The whole time, the dentist insulted the work that my dentist had done recently. In my opinion, I have paid very well for my veneers and I see my dentist close to 3 times a year and have never required a filling in the last 6 years. Went to pay the bill for the cleaning and exam. The receptionist was on her phone texting the whole time, only looking away to pass me the debit machine and to rip off the receipt. I stood there for a few moments waiting and she looked up at me. "That's all. Do you need anything?" Yeah, my merchant receipt and treatment receipt. "Oh yeah... here you go". Definitely not a fan and will wait to visit my dentist in Dallas next time. In fact, I'm going to get another check up the minute I get home because the whole thing felt so rushed that I cannot trust that the work was done properly.
