On top of that she failed to say how compliant her child was, whether they were "rushed" due to them arriving late and then needing to complete paperwork and finally whether or not she presented her wishes and expectations to the staff. Just saying. I found this office to be surperb. Communication straight forward and interaction understandable.

Clinic is also opens a few Saturdays, which has been extremely helpful as I cannot leave work during the week. Another thing that I love is that my insurance pays them directly, whereas the old clinic i went to I would have to pay out of pocked and then be reimbursed. Our dentist has always been Dr. Scheideman, a big bear of a man with a soothing voice and demeanor that calms both children and parents alike. Dr. Scheideman keeps the parents fully briefed on recommended treatments and the nurses have all been very nice and treated the kids with respect and gentleness. It is a busy practice so plan on booking ahead but well worth it.

We brought in our 5 year-old son for a consultation to fix his 8 cavities (yes, we're not good…read morebrushers/flossers) after his general dentist said that he's not experienced enough with young kids. We brought in X-rays, and Dr. Chander maybe spent a minute with us telling what he would do - fix all either with laughing gas or send us to another specialist to fix all at one time under general anesthetic and then he left. We then spent the next 10 minutes talking to the manager about payment options. When I questioned why we couldn't ask for a treatment plan without laughing gas or general anesthetic, the answer I got was, "well, the doctor probably thought he's uncooperative". Since we were uncomfortable with the treatment plan offered, we consulted yet another dentist, and there, the dentist spent 10-15 minutes during the consultation meeting check each tooth over and also testing our son's patience in the chair, needless to say, we went to this dentist to fix his teeth. I have no problems with dental practices needing to make money (especially if they have a fancy waiting room and staff that don't hate you when you walk in). I can also rationalize exceptionally good dentists charging above what is recommended by the provincial dental pay scale (they also will demand the difference between what your insurance pays and what they charge even for a consultation), but what I have a problem with is when a PEDIATRIC dental practice has no desire to determine a child's comfort level in the chair BEFORE recommending a treatment plan. Our son has seen quite a few doctors and specialists and has had a few exams with various machines, and the conclusion after all these exams is how calm he is - in fact, where he got his teeth fixed, he was even used as the example by the parent of a screaming child of how to behave at a dentist's office. Boy, this has turned into a very long review, but we saw the positive reviews from other patients and thought we might be able to get the same - a meaningful consultation with a pediatric dental specialist that would know how to deal with children without having to resort to rendering them dazed and confused. We didn't get that, and in fact, the only thing we did get was a bad taste in our mouths.

I shared that I had a commitment after and could not stay later and they did not provide great advice about what treatment was still best to be done and what could be cut to finish on time. So I opted to skip the X-rays since I have no dental pain and am well past the age of needing braces. I then got guilt-tripped for not getting the X-ray. The scaling was super painful - more painful than any other I have experienced in 40 years. The hygienist repeatedly blamed me for not being able to treat me without the X-ray then left me in the room for 5 minutes before anyone came and talked to me. I ended up leaving halfway through the appointment. Total waste of time and very traumatizing for someone that had never had an issue with dentist appointments before.

I booked an appointment for 1pm and received two messages and an email to confirm the date and time along with a COVID-19 related questionnaire. I also received a few text messages between the time I booked and the day of my appointment offering me available appointments that were on days prior to my appointment. Even though I couldn't accept any of to these offers, I thought what a great service. To my surprise, an attendant from this clinic reached out to me a day before my appointment telling me that my appointment is at 12.30pm. I responded with saying that I booked for 1pm. Upon my arrival at the clinical 12:50pm, the lady at the reception told me that I missed my appointment and made me feel guilty. I showed her the text messages I received from the clinic confirming my appointment for 1pm. She then proceeded to telling me that I am late for my appointment and they don't have enough time to take me now. I was shocked. They made a clerical error and now I'm being penalized after making my way from the office to their clinic. The customer service was so poor I will not be returning to this clinic and recommend anybody considering it to pick one of the other clinics in the neighborhood. What a frustrating experience that could have been solved by proper customer service and common sense.

It made us regret ever trusting this clinic. To the receptionist: Your role is to help clients, not speak down to them. This is Canada, where respectful and professional service is expected. If your employer hasn't addressed this, the public will. To the dentist: You call yourself a professional, but your lack of empathy and communication skills say otherwise. My wife left the clinic in tears because of how you spoke to her. No one should be treated that way and you have no right to speak disrespectfully to anyone. Its just a shame that a dentist like you doesn't even have a basic communication skill. To the public: Avoid this place. The staff are unprofessional and lack basic respect for clients.
