Galia (Dr. Andersen) and her staff are AMAZING. I always feel comfortable at her practice. I know what you're thinking. Comfortable at a dentists office? Aaaaah, yup. These women know their stuff. And they're kind, and patient. I'm a total dentist-phobe from some past bad experiences. But Galia and her lovely staff have really turned that around. I'm stuck like glue to this place! Will make the trip from anywhere. Have sent a few friends, and family members, and everyone has come back raving about their experience. Cleanest feeling teeth I've EVER had, and her hygienists gave me some great advice for keeping my teeth as healthy as I can. My fillings experience was also the easiest I've had. It's never super fun, but at least I want white-knuckling it the whole time. Had somewhere close to a nap, while Galia and her assistant worked their magic. I also get my Botox done by Galia, and I'm a devotee! She has such an artful hand with that stuff, nobody believes I have had it done. I also have to give a shout out to Blanca, Enhance's receptionist. She's an absolute JOY. What a human being- she's just an incredible delight to deal with. Front end staff is so important, and being greeted by her when you call or enter the centre really just gives you a good idea what this place is all about. Horrible experience!!! Almost chocked to death!!!! So My family and I just moved back to Vancouver from travelling around the globe, Hence, finding a new dentist in the city. At first they were great with the cleaning services, xrays, etc. (we have full dental insurance) Then I schedule my visit for a cavity I had. Upon my arrival, the nurse proceeded to ask me if I had seen the rubber dental dam before, which I told her ya, about 10 yrs ago. Then she put that medieval contraption on me (so painful every time she inserted the latex in between my teeth with a thick dental floss) PLUS another rubber square thing to keep my teeth open so far back in my mouth I could feel my tonsils touching it. Needless to say, between that and the latex in my mouth and my inability to swallow my own saliva, i was literally chocking to death! Also, they set up the chair in a semi inverted position where my head was lower than my feet, making it impossible to swallow. The anesthesia the dr. put, did not work well, so on top all that stress add the fact that I could feel the pain (she had to add another injection mid work). The minute the dr was done I told her exactly what my experience was all about and asked her to either not use those contraptions on me next time or I was done. She said they are required by law? or something to use them. LIE. I Strongly disagree, I've had my teeth worked on (same treatment) in the US (Los Angeles, New York, Seattle), Spain, Peru, Brazil and NEVER have I had such a traumatizing experience. All these dentists were great at isolating saliva with cotton balls etc. clean work, all the time. I WOULD NEVER PUT A CHILD THROUGH THIS!!! My daughters had treatments in Los Angeles 6 months ago, and the pediatric doctors there did not use those contraptions. Its almost like those straight jackets crazy dentists use to put on kids.... After not having seen a dentist for almost two years, I went to the Enhance Dental Centre on Broadway. My dentist had gentle hands and didn't nag me, even though I had three small cavities and clearly hadn't had my teeth cleaned professionally in a while. I went back a week later for the fillings and they've been great. The front desk person was incredibly helpful regarding insurance, as I'm a student and sometimes that can get complicated with parents' insurance and school insurance. Bonus points: they have TVs on the ceiling so you distract yourself while they're drilling your teeth! They give you gift certificates to various things when you recommend someone to them! read more

When a high-end dentist at the medical-dental building at 2184 W. B'way pulled a tooth of child son without first obtaining informed consent and then had the crust to bill me for it, I submitted a demand for and received a full refund after which the family was in the market for a new dentist. Like Keira M., I used social media to scan the reviews. What I wanted was a dentist who did not require as a precondition of service all those costly and admittedly (by various dentists' governing bodies) unnecessary X-rays and who was willing to reduce fees for the self-insured especially in an economic depression. For most of us, when finances are tight the first thing to go is the annual dental check-up. Among neighborhood dentists, the reviews favored Dr. Galia Anderson at the Enhance Dental clinic, which is conveniently within walking distance, and they offer appointments by email so ix-nay all the annoying phone calls and reminders. I submitted an email requesting the price of a check-up and cleaning but no X-rays unless check-up revealed evidence suggesting further investigation was required. What could be more reasonable? Yet quite a few Vancouver dentists won't accept a new patient who won't give them carte blanche re X-rays, which are an important staple in dental economics. Let the unions subsidize them if they like - not Biblitz! The response revealed an acceptable price (cleaning and check-up July 8/14 after a two-year absence was $187.62) and I found Dr. Anderson, then a new mother, to be very kind, efficient and competent in line with Eastern Europe's formidable reputation for medical and scientific excellence. Not surprisingly, she applied the same competence to her staff selection. I have liked them all. One hygienist was off to dental school to get her qualifications. That says something, in my view. I find the chairs comfortable unlike at least one other of the clinics I tried and rejected, and I also like that they lock up backpack or purse next to you in the treatment room. I have now had several appointments over three years at Enhance - once to repair a chipped tooth - and have found the staff to be very clean, courteous, friendly and professional. And despite a few ads in the waiting area, no one has ever once tried to flog extras, such as cosmetic whitening, now the subject of a hot contest in the U.S., where dentists are trying to prevent competent but unlicensed lay persons from providing this service. Perhaps the best feature of Enhance is what several staff members have described as state-of-the-art equipment. This is not always the case at a dental clinic. I wish more of us would endeavor to get staff views about equipment. But of course even the best equipment won't assist if the person using it is not sufficiently skilled or talented. I can say without hesitation that hygienist Rosie gave the most pain-free though entirely earnest and effective cleaning I have ever had. It was relaxing and frankly pleasant. She then checked and measured my gums, Dr. Anderson reviewed and inspected and the whole thing was over in an hour and 15 min. Update May 26/15: Enhance has a very phone problem. If your phone has a caller ID block feature, your can't get through. Even more galling, the website email contact address is out of date. Emails sent yesterday bounced. This is very troubling in view of a 48-hour cancellation notice requirement for appointments, which are typically made six months and more in advance. Worse still when the reminder call is made only the day before appt.. In other professions, this would be known as sharp practice. read more

Front line staff not professional or organized. Botox was a disaster from the "stronger than usual solution sold to them in that production" from the supplier. Let me preface this by saying I fear going to the dentist. I hate the vulnerability of being open-mouthed, I hate tooth pain, I hate the bills - all of it strikes fear deep within me. My experience so far with Enhance Dental Centre has changed ALL of that. I found them through two recommendations on Yelp and made an appointment for a well-overdue cleaning and examination. There was no judgment, no side remarks - just kindness. I wasn't made to feel guilty for not visiting the dentist sooner. The team at Enhance were understanding of how I felt about being at the dentist and were completely gentle. They talked me through every step of what they were doing. I also needed a few of those dreaded fillings but Dr. Anderson is amazing! She had them finished in less time than estimated and completed them thoroughly. She has a wonderful chair-side manner and made me feel completely at ease. A bonus? TVs seem to be the norm at dental offices these days and Enhance is no exception. It's nice to be able to tune out with some TLC while having my teeth worked on. I'd have no hesitations recommending this clinic to my family and friends. read more

I hate going to the dentist. I always feel guilty because I'm not flossing, awkward because I'm trying to respond to the dentist's queries with a suction in my mouth and terrified because I have to get a needle in my jaw! But at Enhance Dental I actually look forward to my trips. The dentist is a very pleasant woman with an excellent sense of humour and pleasant chair-side manner. I've asked her inane questions like "why do we have wisdom teeth?" and "why are you shaking my lip while trying to freeze my mouth?" and she answers each question very thoroughly and patiently. She clearly enjoys what she does and often gets carried away with her explanations, branching off into other areas of discussion which I enjoy! She obviously knows what she's talking about! She is very gentle and will explain what she's doing while she's doing it. But will also let you zone out to the TV while she's working away. The other employees are all very upbeat and everyone has an excellent sense of humour. The office is very clean, private and modern. I like that I'm not sitting directly beside another stranger getting their teeth drilled. I feel like I'm in a private room and am very comfortable the entire time. They are very quick and efficient. They also have later hours which makes my life easier when I don't finish work until 4pm! I highly recommend this dentist office. read more

First off, let me say that whenever the topic of dentists comes up, I immediately recommend Enhance Dental, and Dr. Fung in particular. There are two other dentists at this office, including the principal, Dr. Anderson, but I was Dr. Fung's patient. I moved to Vancouver from Ottawa three years ago and was super happy to find Dr. Fung. She is calm, knowledgeable, and always fully explains the procedure if you ask any questions. You can tell that she is interested in her profession, it's not just a boring slog for her. I also tip my hat to the two dental hyginicists that have helped me here: Paula and Kathleen. They were very friendly, and told me how I was flossing wrong and how I should brush, etc. Again: very knowledgeable and engaged. Before coming to Enhance Dental, I hadn't been to a dentist in years (oops) and so I was amazed by things like the ceiling mounted TV and the slim X-ray machine. Just had a teeth whitening session here and while I do understand that the results vary between individuals, it was very disappointing in my case. After 2 hours of lying in an excruciating pain, I got bad patches on my front teeth and NO change in the shade at all. The before and after photos are a laugh really - they just manipulate these photos by adjusting the lighting. One problem I noticed was that they got this very inexperienced hygienist / assistant to perform the whole procedure on me (the dentist checked my general teeth condition before the procedure for about 5 minutes and she was no where to be seen after that!). She brushed the solution on me and then left me for 30 minutes by myself then came back to apply more solution and then left me again for 30 minutes and then the same for one more time... Surely she isn't worth $599! read more

I went to this place based on the good reviews it received and boy do I regret it. I saw Dr Dee who is one of the new dentists in the clinic and I was absolutely appalled with the service I received. First of all, they weren't concerned about my immediate issue (I had a tooth which had fallen out) but instead went on to find more problems with my other teeth. Then they advised I need to put a "flipper" tooth in as a temporary one which didn't even fit! I paid $500+ for this temporary plastic that was too big and irritated my gums. When i asked for them to fix it they wouldn't and then I asked for a refund they refused. All I can say about this place is that they're only out to get your cash and not to take any responsibility for how they treat patients. Do not go here! read more

Dr.Pazhoh has filled multiple cavities of mine (I have extremely weak enamel) and removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth. The staff was so incredibly friendly. I was really nervous getting mine extraction and chose no sedation. They made me comfortable with blankets and headphones, and communicating to me what was happening and that everything was going well. My only wish it that they provide your prescription before the extraction, as my numbing wore off before my medication was ready- which was quite painful. I've been a customer at Enhance Dental for about 2-3 years now and never thought of it as a bad place at all, actually I think that their staff is amazing, from Blanca at the front to the amazing hygienist who cleans my mouth,but yesterday I've met Dr.Anderson for the first time and quite frankly hope I'll never seen her again, that 10 minutes of being in the same room with her made me want to run away. First trying to make conversation with me and telling me my choice of career could be better and telling me my old fillers were "GETTING KIND OF GROSS" for a health care professional I was REALLY not impress with her choice of words.It made me feel really dirty and in 30 seconds took all that confidence I had about myself. Enhance provided me with an excellent experience, being welcoming and checking in with my on my comfort regularly. The cleaning on my super-sensitive teeth went very well, the dentist, Dr. Anderson, was a good listener. I did not care for this dental office. They do use state of the art equipment, but made some pretty expensive recommendations for my teeth, most of which were not covered by my insurance. I went to another dentist for a second opinion, and he said that some of their recommendations were not necessary. I've decided to switch dentists. read more
