So. I was sorta upset. That my "2" hour back to back appointment for cleaning and X-ray (changed dentist) was going to take "2" visits due to the fact they found it needed more cleaning than could be done in 1 hour. Now the previous dentist I had. They did text to communicate when I first signed up just before covid, but, either that employee did it on her own phone. or they stopped using the service they used to use to text me. either way. they would call me for appointments. and miss me as I was at work couldn't take the call. and when I called back it would go to voicemail. and they don't seem to email. so I got a missed call during work. and by the time I remembered about it and called back they were closed. couldn't recall if I had an appointment that weekend or not but I knew I had one in Aug...... decided I needed to find a dentist that texted emailed and actually answered their phones. so. why did I give them 5 stars when they told me it was 1 visit and now I have to come back for another hour of cleaning? the hygienist.... wouldn't budge. she told me it needed more than 1 hour cleaning. and she wasn't willing to sacrifice my teeth to accommodate my demands. she got receptionist in to talk sense in to me. and when that didn't do the trick they then got the dentist in. to talk to me. and finally I just agreed. NOT because they bully me, but because they cared enough to say NO, no we are not squishing 2 hours of much needed dental cleaning into a 1 hour slot. I am happy they cared enough to stand their ground. I really liked her cleaning pace. I didn't feel apprehensive because I could mentally follow along with where she was cleaning. she rocks! dentist was awesome too. came in. made sure I knew what the game plan is. when I come back again. and what we doing to make sure I stay on top of areas. Koodos to the guy who did my X-rays. it's not easy squishing those wings in there at just the right spot. he took his time. and it went well. I felt good I didn't feel nervous. And the receptionist team were amazing I left them figuring out billing for my two insurance there was something iffy about who to bill how much or something. Hahaha. Aa a client for several years, it has been abundantly obvious that the reception area has deteriorated big time and the level of service has fallen off to a point that I couldn't understand some of them and they would promise return calls but never would. I was over charged and it took me weeks and at least ten phone calls to get the refund. as a result I moved on and I suggested that you look elsewhere. read more

I have no complaint with the dentists or hygienists over the two years I went here for cleanings. They seem to have a lot of turn over with hygienists as neither myself nor my wife ever had the same one twice. We ended up leaving this practice as the clerical staff had a tendency to call to ask us to change appointment times for just about every appointment. This was very inconvenient as we book appointments 6 months in advance. Additionally, there always seemed to be a balance to pay despite having insurance coverage. The balance would be brought up 6 months after the fact when at the next cleaning. I was never billed or called. It was for a small amount of money which we would pay, but annoying as we were always told we had a zero balance after a cleaning. Finally, reception tends to be a bit rude and perfunctory overall. The last straw was one day when I walked over for my appointment and was on time. I was told they were having an in service and I could not wait in the office. I was told they would let me in 10-15 minutes later. When I returned 15 minutes later I was told they were waiting for me. I pointed out I had shown up 5 minutes early as per their COVID protocol and that THEY had turned me away. I did not want to stand in the parking lot waiting. No apology. The sum of all these issues led to me getting a new dentist who sticks to appointment times, bills accurately and has polite staff. I don't miss this practice at all. My experience here at Smile Dental was absolutely wonderful, to start at the front desk Jessica was really nice and very helpful. I had to show up with out appointment, I had a very bad infection in my tooth, and inflammation, they had to make a little surgery, with so little pain, Dr Rezaie, He was wonderful, and also Laura the other Odontologist who also speaks Spanish as me :) From start to finish everything was great!! I had come before with the other dentist the other side of the market don't want to say name but close to Tim Hortons, I had a very bad and painful experience, I decided no to come back there any more and looking at Yelp I found Smile Dental. I brought in my three year old daughter for my appointment and planned to plunk her down with paw patrol while I got my teeth cleaned, hoping she would sit still and not be to much of a distraction in the office. What happened though was she was involve in the whole process, learning about what was happening and she even got to 'help'. My husband and I have been coming to Smile dental since early 2011 but about a year ago a had a bad experience with the hygienist, I don't want to go into too many details lets just say it was the worst experience Ive had with a hygienist. They also have changed their receptionist in the last several years some of the ladies are nice some can be rude or pushy. Had an issue with the office sending me an invoice dated for March 2014 for an appointment in Feb 25, problem is I never had an appointment in 2014. When I called and explained the situation and expressed my concern that they may have billed my insurance incorrectly the office manager was very defensive and argumentative, started yelling over the phone screaming the customer is not always right and she didn't have to do anything to clear this up, basically threatening me. The office manger then called me and left me a very rude message and then called my husband's cell phone and left a message for him, telling him I was belligerent, basically bad mouthing me to my own husband. I called my insurance, explained the situation and they went back over my records and found a claim from a year ago that was deposited in my account because of the way the dentists office had filed it. This happened a year ago and when they did finally send me the invoice it was with the wrong date and year. I went to the office to pay the bill as I did not want any hassle. The Dentists husband has now contacted me twice to remove this review from yelp. I don't think the office is allowed use my number like this I think there are privacy laws against it. read more

If you say "No" they try to pressure you into getting it done anyway or you're a bad person. People have different reasons for not getting dental work done. The biggest part is money. Not everyone can afford $250+ dental bill after you leave their chair. This clinic is a money grabbing clinic!! If you have alot of money sitting around that you have no use for. I been over charged ,instead of lowering the price for me as a student they rip me off they charged me 350$ for teeth cleaning imagine!!! and 850$ for replacing (exchanging) 4 existing filling. I have 750 $ limit in my dental insurance and their aim was to finish this money and to make me pay about 400 more of this amount to do cleaning and 4 filling I wouldn't recommend this clinic to any one I know shame read more

I have been coming to smile dental for years and the staff members have always been courteous and friendly. They have always been accommodating whenever I have given notice about adjusting my appointment time. Most importantly I've never had any issues with treatment, like most people I'm not a fan of coming to the dentist but they always keep me calm. Realistically, there's thousands of dentists out there seems like every corner is a Starbucks, McDonald's and a dental office. With that being said I still keep coming back to the same office I think that speaks volumes. read more

Had problems after a filling was replaced...pain lasted a couple of weeks while trying to find a different dentist...got no sympathy, and attitude seemed to indicate it was my problem. She is also very accommodating, highly skilled and addresses all concerns. I went here once. I felt uncomfortable and pushed. When I was filling out the forms, there was a sheet to give my credit card number (not a credit card billing but just a plain sheet with name and credit card number wanted). I handed it back and said I am not filling that in. I could understand the need if I was getting orthodontic work or long term expensive work, but not for a check up. The Dental Cleaning assistant said I need an appliance. The dentist confirmed it. I swear she had her staff phone my dental plan to see if they would pay for it before I was out of the chair. According to the Dental Association website, the dentist is the only one that should be recommending work to be done. The dentist is the one with all the training. Started going to Smile Dental about 3 years, found the staff to be great. However for last 2 years, it's been a disappointment. I go in for cleanings every 4 months, appointments are booked well in advance and every time I get a new person cleaning my teeth. Last time, I had to go in twice to get my teeth cleaned because the new hygienist was extremely slow. I understand they have no control over employee turnover but it is extremely frustrating. read more

Pretty disappointing experience. Was hoping to become a client as I did some research online before choosing a new dentist. When I called to book my initial appointment I was informed it would take three weeks, as Saturdays are busy and space is limited. I understood this as Saturday is the only day I have available, and went ahead with booking the appointment. When I got to the initial appointment, I arrived early and filled out all the typical new client forms. And then I waited. And waited. And waited. Other patients came in and were escorted to rooms while I continued to sit there. A full 45 minutes beyond my original appointment time I was still being advised by the front desk staff that they were trying to prepare my room. At this point I informed them that I had appointments in the afternoon and would need to reschedule. I never heard from anyone there again, no follow-up or anything. Customer service is clearly lacking and I don't believe they are actually interested in new patients. I have since chosen a different dentist, resulting in Smile Dental Group's loss of my household's dental needs. read more
