The amount of work my daughter has had on her teeth she should be scared to go to the dentist. She loves seeing Dr. Diya and the hygienists. I can't rave enough about this place. Dr. Diya's caring personality does not go unnoticed. Thank you for just being you.

We brought in our 5 year-old son for a consultation to fix his 8 cavities (yes, we're not good…read morebrushers/flossers) after his general dentist said that he's not experienced enough with young kids. We brought in X-rays, and Dr. Chander maybe spent a minute with us telling what he would do - fix all either with laughing gas or send us to another specialist to fix all at one time under general anesthetic and then he left. We then spent the next 10 minutes talking to the manager about payment options. When I questioned why we couldn't ask for a treatment plan without laughing gas or general anesthetic, the answer I got was, "well, the doctor probably thought he's uncooperative". Since we were uncomfortable with the treatment plan offered, we consulted yet another dentist, and there, the dentist spent 10-15 minutes during the consultation meeting check each tooth over and also testing our son's patience in the chair, needless to say, we went to this dentist to fix his teeth. I have no problems with dental practices needing to make money (especially if they have a fancy waiting room and staff that don't hate you when you walk in). I can also rationalize exceptionally good dentists charging above what is recommended by the provincial dental pay scale (they also will demand the difference between what your insurance pays and what they charge even for a consultation), but what I have a problem with is when a PEDIATRIC dental practice has no desire to determine a child's comfort level in the chair BEFORE recommending a treatment plan. Our son has seen quite a few doctors and specialists and has had a few exams with various machines, and the conclusion after all these exams is how calm he is - in fact, where he got his teeth fixed, he was even used as the example by the parent of a screaming child of how to behave at a dentist's office. Boy, this has turned into a very long review, but we saw the positive reviews from other patients and thought we might be able to get the same - a meaningful consultation with a pediatric dental specialist that would know how to deal with children without having to resort to rendering them dazed and confused. We didn't get that, and in fact, the only thing we did get was a bad taste in our mouths.

So, I was…read morelooking for a new dentist in burnaby, not knowing what to expect - well, I was very pleasantly surprised. These guys have regular Saturday hours and their reception staff was very pleasant over the phone and in person. I went in for a regular dental checkup as it was time expecting to be there for a few hours - between the waiting room, forms, and the work itself. I spent the first five minutes filling out my forms, the receptionist had taken my insurance details over the phone a few days earlier so they were prepared for billing. Within 2 minutes of returning my paperwork, they ushered me into a dental chair - normally a very scary place. The took a couple x-rays and did a quick exam, repaired a couple small cavities, even had some art on the ceiling for me to stare at while I was being worked on. The dentist was efficient and very pleasant. They completed this entire process within 35 minutes - as I walked out, the receptionist had my bill ready within 5 minutes and I was on my way. This was the most physically painless and financially painless dentist appointment in my life. There is a first time for everything apparently. one note - their hygienists are super busy, so expect to wait a few weeks to get an appointment with them.

Having to so frequently dig buried stuff out with a toothpick or dental brush often kept the area inflamed and swollen for days at a time, which would lead to more impaction, which led to more inflammation, etc. Over time my teeth shifted, and I began having the same problem on the OTHER side of the offending molar, too. It was making me crazy, to the point I'd wake up in the middle of the night and have to floss again, even though I'd done so before going to bed. When I asked if a solution was possible, Dr. Goran added some matrix to both sides of the molar's surface, and my 30 year long dental problem disappeared literally overnight. The procedure was painless and took less than an hour. Two years later, the matrix is still in place, and my former problem remains resolved. Office service here is always efficient and friendly, too. I'd recommend even for dental scaredy-cats.

They didn't point that out immediately (the shape of the breakage was too round and smooth to be a regular crack. Instead they additionally recommended TEN (10) cavity fillings based on browsing my x-rays. No discomfort anywhere in my teeth except the filling that fell out. They didn't even ask about that. No idea what the timeline is on each cavity before it actually becomes a problem. They basically talk about "eventually" which is just plausible deniability and non-specific instead of triage -- which ones are at what stage, how soon before it becomes a problem. Possibly because I qualified for government dental and they could milk me for as much work as possible. Sorry but I don't want 10 unnecessary fillings that will end up falling out and becoming 10 root canals.

Was searching for a dental clinic for a while after not having insurance and disliking my previous…read moredentists I decided to try Metroplex out as a regular dentist after previously having removed my wisdom teeth there since they had the option to put you to sleep. The staff is pretty nice however I do find they seem to purposely scare you into more procedures. I had scheduled a cleaning xray and consultation and was charged almost $500 which is way more expensive than I would have thought. During the consultation the dentist was quickly poking my teeth and stated I had multiple cavities and she wanted to split up the fillings to 3 separate appointments and I was shocked at how expensive one appointment was. They estimated approximately $850 for top and bottom filling on one side ONLY. During the cleaning itself the hygenist only spent 30 minutes with me and had told me to come back since she wouldnt be able to finish. When I was done and went to the receptionist she had asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment to do my fillings literally the next day to fill an empty spot and I had told her I was uncomfortable because of my fear of dentist and this would be the first time in 6 years I would be getting fillings again but she decided it was her job to scare me into booking the appointment by saying if I waited I would damage my teeth and basically LECTURED me for a good five minutes about how I would lose my teeth LOL which I felt she was extremely out of place. Surely giving me an extra week to think about it wouldnt cause me to lose my teeth. On top of that. I was uncomfortable with the price so I went to get a second opinion at a different clinic whose dentist charged significantly less for a consultation and spent MORE TIME with me and actually carefully checked every spot on the xray and had told me that I had LESS cavities than the metroplex dentist had said. They gave me an estimate of $920 for EVERY filling I had to get done. So $850 for two fillings vs $920 for all 4. Plus I was under the impression that since I was returning to finish my cleaning that it was covered in the first charge of $500. Had they told me they would be charging me again I would not have gone back for the second appointment to finish the cleaning. Plus that hour they supposedly spent with me cleaning my teeth there was several times where the hygenist left me alone in the chair to do something else. I would avoid metroplex as there are better options out there. Ended up closing my account and swapping to a better dentist.

The clinic itself is very nice, with pleasant staff, and Dr. Shirbani was helpful and gracious, providing a referral to a specialist if needed. However, my experience was marred by a subsequent interaction with a receptionist on Saturday, July 12th, at 9:05 am, who was difficult, unfriendly, unempathetic, and rude. I had concerns regarding my wisdom tooth and was seeking a brief consultation with the doctor, but the receptionist was unaccommodating, suggesting I book an appointment instead. Upon calling back to ask a question, I was informed that the doctor recommended I visit a specialist, which was not relevant to my concern about my wisdom tooth. I was extremely disappointed by the receptionist's behavior, which was a stark contrast to the helpful and compassionate service I received the previous day. As a paying patient, I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, my experience was subpar, and I would not recommend this dental clinic to anyone in Canada. I have traveled extensively and lived in various places, and this was the most disappointing experience I've had. I called back to address the unprofessional behavior, but my call was not returned. I hope the clinic will take steps to address the discriminatory behavior and provide better service to their patients
