Unfortunately over my last few visits, I found myself in the hands of other dentists at the clinic and to be honest it felt like I was experiencing student work. Everything from not being given the "lead bib / Apron" during multiple ex-rays (They started with it, then had to redo the ex-rays a few times and No Bib) to dealing with a student assistant that was very nervous and not knowing the instruments (the original assistant called in sick at the last minute) to being put almost upside down while getting a root canal (Very uncomfortable Position!), to having temp filing pop-out. The last 3 visits were 1) A root canal and crown, (not done by Dr.Ayoughi) I had to return 3 times due to temp falling out and pain. The first time they re-cemented the temp that had poped-out, the 2nd time they tried adjusting the crown with no success 2 weeks after installing it. 3) The third time I was still in pain, I demanded to bee seen by Dr. Ayoughi and he was very nice in explaining what might be going on and did more adjustments and told me his assistant would check-in with me in 1 week or 2 to see how I felt as he was leaving on Vacation and she did, she left a message as I was unable to answer the call at the time. I returned the call that evening and left a message saying that I was still in pain, at that point it became "Radio silence" never heard back! I had to go to another Dental clinic to get checked and that's where they told me that the root canal was excellent but the crown was to close to the bone and that was the pain / discomfort I was feeling. 2 options were given to me 1) an expensive surgery to repair the problem or 2) let time do the work and allow bone matter to grow. Parkview Dental was one of the very best service I'd ever receive in a dental clinic, until I was switched around without being asked and passed around to other dentists in the clinic, then the quality of work went downhill. I unfortunately had to move on to an other clinic. The front staff has always been good and accommodating. PS: That was not my first root canal, I've had a few, so I'm well aware of how it should go and feel.

I booked and when I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by a very aloof, spacey receptionist. She was very rude and seemed drugged. Not really on it and very lackadaisical. I have American insurance from my company and its not worth using it overseas. I mentioned this to her and she seemed irritated that I was paying out of pocket. Visit with the dentist was rather rushed. He seemed to have another patient on the go. The whole time, the dentist insulted the work that my dentist had done recently. In my opinion, I have paid very well for my veneers and I see my dentist close to 3 times a year and have never required a filling in the last 6 years. Went to pay the bill for the cleaning and exam. The receptionist was on her phone texting the whole time, only looking away to pass me the debit machine and to rip off the receipt. I stood there for a few moments waiting and she looked up at me. "That's all. Do you need anything?" Yeah, my merchant receipt and treatment receipt. "Oh yeah... here you go". Definitely not a fan and will wait to visit my dentist in Dallas next time. In fact, I'm going to get another check up the minute I get home because the whole thing felt so rushed that I cannot trust that the work was done properly. Instead, of a cleaning, they processed me for 5m, took some x-rays and proceeded to clean half my teeth (the bottom half) before sending me on my way... They also lied and told me I needed two fillings due to a cavity and a groove in my tooth. When I got a second opinion (from my old family dentist), none of these things were found. When I inquired as to if this was normal. I was told that due to my being 15m late, I would have to schedule another appointment (since apparently cleanings take about 1.5hr at this place). My thoughts: I was late so I accept that it will cut into my appointment. However.. 1.5hr is not a reasonable expectation for a routine cleaning. I've seen 3 different dentists in the last 5 years (due to my being a traveling consultant), and the longest session I've had was 45m in San Francisco. If cleanings are 1.5hr regularly for new patients. Why was I not informed of this. All they did in the session today was scrape my bottom teeth (no fluoride or anything else). edit: they also lied and said that I needed two fillings due to a cavity and an apparent groove in one of my teeth. Obviously I went for a second opinion to my family's dentist. To my (not) surprise, my family's dentist said there was no cavity. He also showed me the x-rays that he had taken of me from last June and compared it to the ones which Brentwood Dental Group forwarded. The difference was like night and day. The x-rays from Brentwood Dental group were grainy and you 'could' argue that there was a cavity there (there was a shadow in a very murky and grey picture). My family dentist's x-rays were crisp and clear (the contrast between white and black was very crisp). He then showed me the areas which I had been told had a cavity and told me that in his opinion, it was fine. There was no pain and there wouldn't have been that much degradation since last June. There was no need to unnecessarily drill my teeth unless I really wanted to. I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this dentist group as they run the place like an apple store. Hiding under the guise of expertise to upsell you bullshit you don't need.

Who only books a half cleaning? What a waste of my time! Now I have to book two afternoons off work. Also, after my new patient exam at Hastings, I was referred to their Broadway location regarding a couple of teeth (possible root canal). At that appointment, I was told I could also get a second opinion at a completely different location if I wanted one. I was confused - just give me the root canal. Why did the original dentist at Hasting (who is the Owner by the way) refer me to Broadway, where I was told I could get a second opinion somewhere else? Why doesn't the Owner have the expertise to tell me these things? I've now seen three different dentists over the period of a few months. So, needless to say, I'm not loving the lack of consistency. Anyway, I am frustrated because I've been taking time off work for appointments that don't always result in a clear decision or completed treatment, and I continually have to book another appointment for something else. My insurance coverage for the year is running out, and I still need a root canal, which I might not have enough coverage to pay for because of their inefficiency. That said, I do feel their staff provides good-quality work. I've had one half clearing and one filling done, and from what I can tell, it was done well. As for the environment, some people may appreciate the concrete, minimalist design of the office, but I find it cold and impersonal. Because it concrete building, concrete floors and walls, the office is loud. You hear drilling and all kinds of sounds happening around the office. It's just very buzzy and echo-y, which doesn't make for a relaxing dental experience. What this all boils down to is that I am now looking for a new dentist. I don't want to keep giving this dental office my time and money because I disagree with how they run their business.

At first they were great with the cleaning services, xrays, etc. (we have full dental insurance) Then I schedule my visit for a cavity I had. Upon my arrival, the nurse proceeded to ask me if I had seen the rubber dental dam before, which I told her ya, about 10 yrs ago. Then she put that medieval contraption on me (so painful every time she inserted the latex in between my teeth with a thick dental floss) PLUS another rubber square thing to keep my teeth open so far back in my mouth I could feel my tonsils touching it. Needless to say, between that and the latex in my mouth and my inability to swallow my own saliva, i was literally chocking to death! Also, they set up the chair in a semi inverted position where my head was lower than my feet, making it impossible to swallow. The anesthesia the dr. put, did not work well, so on top all that stress add the fact that I could feel the pain (she had to add another injection mid work). The minute the dr was done I told her exactly what my experience was all about and asked her to either not use those contraptions on me next time or I was done. She said they are required by law? or something to use them. LIE. I Strongly disagree, I've had my teeth worked on (same treatment) in the US (Los Angeles, New York, Seattle), Spain, Peru, Brazil and NEVER have I had such a traumatizing experience. All these dentists were great at isolating saliva with cotton balls etc. clean work, all the time. I WOULD NEVER PUT A CHILD THROUGH THIS!!! My daughters had treatments in Los Angeles 6 months ago, and the pediatric doctors there did not use those contraptions. Its almost like those straight jackets crazy dentists use to put on kids....
