The dentists are awesome and nice especially, Dr. Mike Chen who is very calm, kind, and professional. He is indeed one of the best. You will feel secure and well-taken care of. He explains every procedure before he starts, during the procedure, and after. He makes sure you are okay before proceeding to the next step and not just rush. I have my 3 wisdom tooth extraction on the same day, and Mr. Chen and his assistant did an excellent job. I did not feel nervous even if it was my first time, and I did not feel any pain during the extraction. It was also done quickly and a feeling that visiting a dental clinic can be fun too :)

The previous owner retired after a few decades of great service, and the business continues with excellence under a new owner. They' have expanded beyond general dental services including Invisalign and implants. The dental assistants and dentist who checked/cleaned my teeth were all very friendly, encouraging, and helpful. The staff really make for a very positive atmosphere despite being most people's least desirable place to visit.. The dental office is next to T&T supermarket, and free parking (before 3 pm?) is available on Kingsway before and after that block, just not in front.

I'm not very sure if there's any price difference though, but Dr.Tammy has been professional and very attentive. Also she speaks good command of English, so when I have questions she's always willing to answer. I get always get scared at dental visits, but she said to tell her if something is hurting/ uncomfortable. I felt hurt when I open my mouth for too long; she even massaged my joint that made me feel better. Even her staffs are attentive and helpful too. Plus this clinic isn't too far from home.

Before even booking my appointment, I specifically asked about the cost because my financial situation was important to me. I clearly asked whether my insurance would cover the treatment. I was told that my insurance would cover 80% and that I would only be responsible for the remaining 20%. Based on that information, I agreed to proceed with the treatment. Then, several months later, I received a letter saying that I owed an additional $120. I went to the office to discuss this because I had specifically asked about the coverage before receiving the treatment. Instead of taking responsibility and trying to resolve the situation, the manager, Ellen, basically told me that they had many new employees, the employee who gave me the information apparently didn't know what they were doing, that person is now in Toronto, and I still have to pay the $128.80 That is completely unacceptable. If I had known from the beginning that I might have to pay this amount, I would have made a different decision. That is exactly why I asked about the insurance coverage BEFORE booking the appointment. I did my part by asking in advance. If your staff gives a patient incorrect information, the patient should not be expected to pay months later because of the office's mistake. And unfortunately, my husband's experience with this office was also very disappointing. He had a filling done there and was not satisfied with the result at all. His tooth continued to hurt and, according to him, the pain was even worse after the treatment, yet the dentist did not take responsibility for the situation. There is another issue that I find extremely concerning: privacy and patient confidentiality. The office called my husband and said that one of us had a dental appointment but they were not sure whether it was him or me because their system was apparently mixed up. A dental office should have accurate patient records and should handle patient information with the utmost care. Mixing up patients' information and then calling the wrong person about an appointment is extremely concerning. I have documentation supporting everything I am describing here, including the communications regarding the insurance and the amount they later demanded. Overall, this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a dental office. Poor communication, incorrect information about insurance, lack of accountability, an unsatisfactory dental treatment experience, and serious concerns about how patient information is handled. I would not recommend this dental office based on my experience. Before getting any treatment here, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing, especially what your insurance will cover and exactly what you will be expected to pay.

The dentist, Dr. Shojaei, was not particularly friendly or communicative. I know the Fed. dental plan doesn't cover 100% but the extra was higher than average. I was phoned by the office mgr. with a time and date to fix the cavity. He didn't like it when I said I would make my own appts. I was anxious about going and asked if I could have an ativan. I was told that I had to come in 1 hr. ahead of the appt. to be monitored. I explained that my nerve compression wouldn't allow me to sit for 2 hrs. and wanted to explain the problem to the dentist. She wouldn't talk to me, just told the receptionist what to say. When I got there I still didn't get a chance to talk to her except to say I needed to walk around a bit before sitting for a long time. Knowing how I react to this and that it takes 30 min. to 1 hr. to take effect I went next door to get some cat food. I was chased down by the receptionist to come back right now. It was publicly humiliating and the pill was still dissolving under my tongue so I was clearly not incapacitated. I returned within15 min. of leaving and was told by the receptionist that Dr. Shojaei would not see me. She was punishing me for not following her rules. She never came out to speak to me herself, just dumped it on her receptionist. We could have discussed this ahead of time to find a solution. She never did speak to me, just banned me. I now have had proper x-rays done and I do not have a cavity. I never did receive an invoice. This is a very dysfunctional place and also dishonest. Spare yourself.
