Staff always remember me by asking about small details of my personal life that we converse about. The doctors and hygienists have good communication walking through what they are doing during the procedure. I've also once had to cancel my appointment last minute due to falling ill, however there was miscommunication so my cancellation never got through. The Front Desk staff never blamed or gave me grief, but replied professionally and positively - which is very hard to come by these days! Another example of great customer service was that I had a procedure done which had a complication so it was referred to a specialist. Without even asking, they offered to waive the procedural charges on Fraserview Densit's end completely. Going to the dentist can be a daunting experience, but you are in good hands with these well trained staff!

I would have saved time, headache and MONEY. I originally came to Smiling Creek Dental to have my teeth fixed and it's been nothing but wasted time and heartache. I for most needed a new appliance (partial denture) that normally would take any dental clinic a month at most to get fitted, this place took 3 months and about 14 appointments (that I had to take time off work for) to get fitted. They couldn't get the teeth right and had to send the appliance back multiple times. Once it FINALLY was good the tooth broke off a few months later. I was partially to blame as I was eating crackers and they offered to fix it for free. Manjari did mention this was a one time deal and they would not offer to fix this again for free. A few short months after fixing, my other tooth FELL OUT AGAIN! This time around I was sitting at my desk working and it literally just fell out. I wasn't eating, drinking nor sleeping with it at the time. It just fell out while I was working. I called to have this fixed and was very upset as two teeth have now fallen out in less than a year and my old appliance that I had from another dental clinic for 10 years never had any issues besides natural wear down. I'd like to mention I wasn't aware you weren't supposed to sleep with your appliance and wore my previous appliance night and day and only took it out to brush my teeth and never had an issue FOR 10 YEARS! When I called to get this fixed I explained this was an emergency and I needed it fixed before the following afternoon as I had a huge client meeting and couldn't show up toothless or reschedule at such last minute. They took their sweet time and after hours, they made up lies and told me they could only have this fixed at 5pm the following day and wanted $270. I explained That I understood they fixed it free the first time but for it to fall out while sitting at work is unacceptable and they need to fix this now and for free as this was not my fault. Instead I was blamed for saying it's my fault that I sometimes sleep with it in and eat with it (Dr Bhata even said eating with it was okay and I still have the texts to prove that) it was a blame game and I was told it was my fault and there was nothing to be done but pay. Within the last year and a half I have paid out of pocket thousands of dollars not including what my insurance has covered and for them to not only offer anything to keep a client but to put the blame on me is disgusting practice. I have since gone to a different clinic and they told me my appliance was poorly made and it's no wonder it broke so many times. They not only offered to fix it but make me a brand new one for a fraction of the cost. I wish I never found Smiling Creek Dental and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

One memorable experience: After I experienced some jaw pain, I came to see her to check things out. My teeth were all fine, so nothing she could do, but she suggested I go to a RMT who specializes in intra-oral massage. I had NEVER heard of this before, but I went to the specific RMT she mentioned and it was life changing. Seriously. After just one session, my jaw pain was gone. I was so relieved and grateful! If Dr Lee hasn't suggested that, I'm not sure what I would have done.

Five years of pain after a bridge and crowns (1 star)…read more In 2021 I had a bridge and several crowns placed at Vancouver Dental Spa. I am sharing the full timeline so others can make an informed decision. What happened Before treatment, an endodontist examined one of my teeth and told me the root canal had about a 50% chance of success. Despite that, the root canal treatment and the bridge were done on the same day. Problems started the next day. I later needed apical surgery, which did not fully resolve the pain. About a year later another tooth began hurting. I did not realize at first that it was a different tooth causing the pain. This year, one of the teeth outside the bridge broke. I was told it had been ground down too much. I could not find a dentist who could treat my teeth without removing the bridge. After five years of nearly constant tooth pain, the bridge was removed a month ago. What the dentist who removed it told me The gum under the bridge was in terrible condition, with a hematoma and a pressure sore from excessive pressure. The dentist did not believe the bridge was only five years old. In the dentist's opinion, my teeth had been ground down far more than necessary. The dentist also suggested this can happen when low-quality crowns are used, because they are more likely to break. This is only an assumption, not something proven, and I am not claiming it as fact. These opinions were verbal. On the same day, another bridge, placed 17 years ago by a different dentist, was also removed. The gum under that older bridge was in much better condition. My takeaways If a specialist gives low odds of success for a tooth, I would not proceed with a bridge on the same day. Ask exactly how much of the tooth will be reduced, what crown material and lab are used, and what follow-up the clinic offers if pain starts. I would have appreciated a more careful response when I reported pain after the first treatments. I am not trying to discourage anyone from seeking dental care, but this experience cost me money and five years of pain. I would update this review if the clinic contacts me to discuss it.

Our family works with 2 hygienists for cleanings, Viktoriya and Kelly, both are top notch and work with extreme attention to detail! I have recently completed phase 1 of a tooth implant process. It happens to be one of my very front teeth and you can imagine how vulnerable that might make you feel. Dr. Kwong is the dental surgeon that did the procedure and I was nothing less than blown away at how easy and painless it all was. I experienced virtually no pain during or after the procedure. There was very little swelling and absolutely no bruising. At the moment I am fitted with a temporary tooth as the grafting takes place, I will get my permanent implant in July. I'd say he is extremely good at what he does. And I would also have to mention the women who run administration, Michelle and Karolina. Awesomely competent and well organized, super friendly too. As is everyone in the office! Karolina was also the assistant during my implant surgery and she was fantastic! This is an office that runs top to bottom like a high end and well oiled machine. I've had bad experiences as a kid/teenager. For weeks, and hours leading up to the appointment, I was getting anxiety and my husband reassured me I was in good hands. My first experience was with the front desk, and the young ladies were lovely and genuine. They had my insurance set up; I didn't need to lift a finger. In LESS THAN 12 hours I got my return from Sunlife (benefits company). It was so simple and quick! The actual office is state of the art, quick, and effective. Everything including X-rays are shown up on LCD TVs in front of you so you know what the dentists plan on fixing or improving. I had Kelly as my dental hygenist. She was kind, relatable, understanding, and empathetic. Did I mention she has a great sense of humour? She was professional and made me feel super comfortable. She demonstrates a true passion for her role and her attention to detail was impeccable. She also explained what plaque and tartar was and how it could impact teeth and gums. During the cleaning process I was fighting to stay awake! I was so relaxed I could have taken a nap! She gave me the remote to the TV and I watched TV and relaxed while she did her thing. Normally I would be gripping the edge of the chair in fear. Dr. Ma is very friendly and understanding. She has a great sense of humour and does her best to make her patients feel welcome. You can also see the openness she has with the hygienists and the sense of partnership they share. The experience from beginning to end has really reduced my fear of dentists and have already booked future appointments with anticipation. I am young and wanting to protect my teeth for decades to come. They have really changed my view of someone putting hands and loud gadgets in my face.
