Turns out it didn't matter, because I was out of it and didn't feel or remember a thing. Healing time was FAST. I only missed one day of work and the swelling/bruising was hardly noticeable. The T3's prescribed probably weren't necessary, but I took them for fun anyways because they made me a bit loopy. I went to Dr. Braverman because he accommodated my insurance AND general anesthesia which was important to me as I have had negative experiences in the past having teeth pulled with localized anesthesia (freezing). Too say I was a little reluctant would be an understatement, everyone's heard the wisdom teeth horror stories and me, I'll overthink and panic on just about anything. To this day, my procedure with Dr. Braverman was one of my more positive experiences, in life in general not just dental work. I STILL have the T3 prescription he wrote me. I had very little pain if any post procedure, the procedure itself was quick, the anesthesia they used was calming, I felt no pain and I woke up feeling like $1,000,000. I was so anxious I got NO SLEEP the night before and I had an early 7:20am appointment coming from Richmond. I went with so many preconceived notions and every single one of them was completely shut down. It was a learning experience for someone like me.

When Dr. Racich left (suddenly/unexpectedly) I started seeing "Dr.B"--Dr. Bussières. Dr. B is competent and well-educated. Unfortunately I have A LOT of problems with my teeth and I was very used to Dr. Racich's cautious attitude. I have some of the thinnest enamel possible and I'd had previous dental work done where the dentist didn't even ask permission to diamond disc between two teeth. As such, I'm *very* nervous at the dentist. I found that Dr. Bussières has more of a straight-forward attitude (compared to Dr. Racich's caution) and decided to fill 2 small cavities that were side-by-side at the same time. (Previously, Dr. Racich would do 1, wait to make sure things were okay, and then done the next, when they were touching between teeth.) As a result, I had excruciating pain on that side, and couldn't chew anything, a mere week before I left on a month-long vacation. (edited to add: Dr. Bussières did come in on a day off to try and fix the problem before I left town, but it was not a one-visit kind of fix and I was apprehensive to have more work done). I have since switched dentists but I believe my dad (who has less dental issues) and my mom (who has lots of dental issues) still see Dr. Bussières. So this is just my personal experience.

They gave me the most comprehensive exam I've ever had, and actually told me the state of my teeth and dental health, which I've never had. The root canal was far less intimidating once Dr. B explained everything and he and his staff were very attentive. And no pain during, or after my filling! Numbing gel + a small shot = I don't feel a thing, and they let me listen to my iPod during the procedure, so my anxiety is minimal. Plus Camille, the receptionist is really nice, helpful, and well versed on insurance coverage.

That said, I would like to commend Dr Hua. He has been my dentist for the last few years, and while I expect that I will never again find a dentist as cheap as my previous one, I haven't felt that Dr Hua or Brentwood Dental has over-charged me in any of my visits. I don't carry any dental insurance, so I must admit that I do tend to only visit the dentist only when I can no longer avoid it. Most recently, I visited Dr Hua for the extraction of two wisdom teeth. The initial consultation included a 3d x-ray and a very clear explanation of what was needing to happen, and the range of what it would cost. One of them had disintegrated and I knew that I could not prolong dealing with them any longer. The procedure took under an hour and I wasn't even aware that Dr Hua was wrapping up, he was that smooth. It was as painless as can be expected for local anesthetic, I have no doubts about the quality of work and, happily, came in at the low end of the cost estimation. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend Brentwood Dental, assuming that all the dentists there are of equal quality to Dr Hua.

Couple days ago I had an accidental fall because of which I badly bruised my face breaking my front tooth. At a loss with what to do right after and worried that I broke something else in my mouth, I called Southridge Dental to ask if they could fix my broken tooth and they called me right away at 5.30 pm. They cleaned up the wounds, did couple X-Rays to make sure everything was alright and fixed my tooth right away in the next hour. I am really impressed with the level of service I received. Dr. Dhaliwal and Brittany were amazing and helped me get over this traumatic experience. Brittany called me back the next day to follow up and check on me. She kept saying that I did a good job brushing and flossing and basically had no build up but then she charged me for 3.5 units of scaling when I have only ever had 1.5 at most from all my other dental visits. My teeth didn't feel clean after the visit and she only polished the front teeth. She was really nice and sweet but I don't think very good at her job.
