This dentist filled my lower right molar instead he should have done a root canal. I was in severe…read morepain for a week and he was on vacation so he couldn't prescribe me any antibiotic. He said we need to do a root canal now. So I made an appointment but I missed it due to a family emergency. So after taking the Antibiotic for a week, the pain came back after a month and I made an appointment to see him. I walked in the clinic, from his secretary to dental hygienist and the dentist himself were after me for missing the appointment and dr yu clearly said "I am not lecturing you but as business person I lost the sale and had to pay my staff. You should have given us 24 hr notice to cancel so I could have used that time and I lost so much money because of you guys....and you got the estimate for your daughters Invisalign and never got them done". We have been going to this dentist since 2002, we don't have any dental insurance and we have to pay each time from my pocket. For my daughter I paid whatever the consultation was but he quoted an amount that I couldn't afford at that moment so we never anything done from him or any others dentist. For my husband he said it will be cheaper if you just get filling done for now but you need a root canal as it would be cheaper to just have the filling done. He charged me 380 dollars and for root canal it would only be another 300. He didn't give me any price point if though I asked him twice. And now the pain I had gone through for about 2 weeks and now again I am in pain or a week. Who is accountable for the pain I am going through. He just cares for money that's it. He is just a business man not a dentist.

Seriously the WORST dentist i have ever been to. Booked…read moreappointment day before as i was having major pain. Was told for sure they would be able to do x rays and at least come up with a treatment plan. Came in for my appointment.. the dentist was rude and impersonable.. looked in my mouth for 2 minutes then said .. well we will have to do a full mouth xray come back in 10 days when I have time. I said I'm here now and they told me yesterday you would do xrays... and I'm in pain! He just looked at me callously and said I can't. Just like that. Lost a very good potential patient.. but after what I witnessed I wouldn't want this guy anywhere near my mouth Horrible.

I went there because of the good reviews. However, it turned out to be the worst dentist…read moreexperience ever. The hygienist brought me to the chair inside, then she pointed at the seat at the corner and said, 'purse'. She could have just told me politely. Would she have done that if I were male and 60? She seemed crass and uneducated. Then the dentist came in and asked me where I lived and I told them. Then the hygienist sneered and said condescendingly, "I thought you wrote down the x street". There was nothing funny about my writing because it was clear. When the hygienist brought me to the x-ray area, she lowered the machine so I needed to slouch. Then she demanded, "Stand straight" and she pressed down my shoulders with her hands. It was inappropriate. She should adjust the machine to fit the patient and not the other way around. It was difficult to stand straight because she lowered the machine. Furthermore, she did not tell me that the x-ray machine would revolve and it hit my head. She laughed and said, "Sorry, I forgot to tell you." This could have been prevented if she was competent. Also, the hygienist interrupted us when the dentist was speaking, and the hygienist touched my face and chin unnecessarily many times (e.g. closing my mouth after she put the tube into my mouth but she could have simply told me to close my mouth). The hygienist and the dentist both touched my hair and hit the chair many times as well needlessly. If they were skillful, they would not touch my hair. It is common sense to warn someone before you touch them, especially when you are a professional. Moreover, it was a loud place and I was not sure if they were talking to each other or talking to me. The receptionists were not friendly. After seeing the dentist, she told me to see the receptionist for the receipt. When I went to the receptionist, she looked irritated and said, "The receipt is still printing." She acted as though I was rushing her but I did not say anything. She threw the bag of samples on the counter reluctantly for me with a condescending attitude. The receptionist made us wait for the receipt by chatting with the other receptionist and said that the paper got stuck. Their attitudes were unprofessional; they looked like they were the dentist's aunts who were employed simply due to their relation. The dentist asked if I grind my teeth when I sleep, and I said no. Then she and the hygienist said, "I can see that you have grinding teeth;" "Yeah, yeah;" "Yes, yes" without showing me. Without offering advice or providing any value, it was clear that they just wanted me to listen to them. In addition, the dentist hastily put the fluoride on my teeth and left tons of residue on my teeth and lips, and I noticed this only after I departed. The dentist did not put the fluoride on all of my teeth; it was very quick. Also, she told me that I could eat right away. That was unusual; usually, we need to wait for at least 15 minutes for the fluoride to work. There were minimal blood stains on the edge of my lips as well. They should have ensured that the patient appeared fine prior to the patient's departure. No dentist would do that if they cared about the patient. They were very careless and unprofessional, and I doubted that the hygienist was licensed. P.S. The dental clinic is inside the medical clinic. New patients would not know where the dental clinic is. The receptionists of the medical clinic should ask the patients if they are there to see the dentist when they first arrive. The receptionist of the medical clinic had wasted our time by asking for our information first and thus made us late for our dental appointment. When I went to the counter of the dental clinic, the receptionist of the dental clinic put the form on the counter and assumed that it was for me without asking for my name. That was rude. I noticed that there were still some stains on my teeth after the cleaning. They made me want to visit another dentist immediately.

To: Kerrisdale Dental Yelp…read more Google Plus Re: Kudos for Kerrisdale Dental I would just like to commend the staff at Kerrisdale Dental Centre, Vancouver, BC, for their great service and dental work. I started using Kerrisdale Dental about 20 years ago, the story of why I drive to Vancouver for my dental work is not important, but I have been very happy with their work and it continues to be worth it for me to drive there. (Besides, Vancouver is very beautiful, and sometimes I stay over for a night). I started seeing Dr Kassam 20 years ago, and was always totally satisfied with his excellent service, but have not seen him lately. I believe he has an office in downtown Vancouver and is not in the Kerrisdale office as much. My first encounter with Dr Tejani was much appreciated. I had a terrible toothache, and he came into the office on his day off to do a root canal, and it was a tough root canal. I was so impressed. I have been seeing Dr Tejani since, and continue to be impressed. He has "saved" a couple of teeth that were on the verge of being pulled. I had two crowns replaced there recently, and everything is doing well. Then the whole staff is the office is friendly, helpful, fun. I commend not only the doctors, but Sharon, Elaine, and Erin for their good work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. With gratitude, Sandy Staples-Hector
