Ok, so this was our third time eating here. We travel through Victoria a couple times a year and decided to give them a few tries before leaving a review.. the first time was a horrible experience. The waiter (a young guy) messed up our order and then guilted us into paying for both the dish we ordered AND the one we didn't (claimed he would have had to pay for it himself). We felt suckered afterwards and it left us feeling like the whole experience was pretty lame. The second time was just a mediocre experience, nothing worth mentioning, but wasn't bad enough to deter us from trying one more time. Today was MUCH better. My soup was delicious, possibly the best Thai soup I've ever had (Little Thai), I also got two orders of the Thai coffee (one to go) which were very good. Hubby's chicken fried rice was pretty good, nothing exceptional flavor wise, but improved greatly with the fresh crushed pepper paste. DD and my niece loved their glass noodles and mango boba tea. Our waitress was fairly new and was upfront and honest about her limited knowledge of the menu, and apologetic about the wait time- which we were very grateful for (honesty always wins with us). My absolute favorite place to eat at here in town! Try the yellow curry chicken! Another great is the chicken pad thai :) I also have had one of the best taro boba teas I've ever had here and I've been overseas and tried taro and authentic dishes and I can say without a doubt Noots has it goin on!!!!! The Noots Thai to go is another great spot in town. Foods very fresh, hot and delicious. The pricing is a little higher than other spots BUT it's definitely worth it. I was invited to a lunch party at Noot's and had no real expectations. OMG this place was GREAT! I eat a lot of Thai food and can tell you this place is the real deal. I had a wide variety dishes. Excellent Thai food in Victoria. Very friendly wait staff and very attentive. They have an extensive menu that covers all the major Thai categories. My favorite part of the menu is the classic dishes. They let you chose the amount of heat on the spicy dishes and for someone like me who likes to have their eyelids sweat when they eat Thai food I can get it here. With the high quality of the food and service, I was surprised this place wasn't packed! The staff really made us feel welcome, and checked in with us often enough, but not too often. They were very knowledgeable about the menu and could make great recommendations based on your preferences. We shared some delicious fried spring rolls, and I had the steamed vegetable main dish with peanut sauce. The veggies were fresh, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My parents had the ginger chicken and sweet and sour chicken main dishes, which were also packed with flavor. Service was good. Food came out fast. Fresh rolls were good and Thai iced tea was sweet and creamy. But my main course, the pad see ew with tofu, was not very good. The noodles were too oily, hardly had any veggies, and was a bit bland. The tofu was spongy and kinda dry - like it had been frozen. Bad customer service!!! Got handed off to 3 waiters before getting a table. Then when I found a table that had a power outlet next to it, so I could charge my phone, they would not give me a table with 4 chairs because I was alone. They place was not even half capacity. I love noots! Great vegetarian and vegan options, which is hard to find in victoria. Only thing I cant seem to love is the black pearls they use in their boba drinks, it's as though their never soaked long enough, kinda tastes and feelslike plastic. This place has the best food in Victoria. That is not an exaggeration. If you are in town and need a place to eat, just go here. Don't go anywhere else, especially if you are from a city with real restaurants like Houston or Austin. The food here is always fresh, always consistent, always delicious. Service is friendly and if they are busy the owners will help out, which is awesome. If you have a cold, I swear the chicken noodle soup is a cure! It is so good. Ask for some of the homemade chili sauce, but be careful because that stuff is spicy! The only thing I would say that could use some improvement is the atmosphere and decor, but that can come with time. This is the only five star worthy restaurant in all of Victoria. Noots have introduced me flavors I've never had before. Since my wife doesn't like Thai food, I usually just get carry out, but the staff has always been very nice and accommodating. I come to Noot's every time I am in Victoria, as it is definitely one of the top restaurants I have been to here. Their menu has a wide selection and everything I have had is good. I am a boba tea snob and theirs is some of the best I have had anywhere in the world AND they always make it dairy-free for me, which is a bonus. All the food I have had here is super quality. I love that when you ask for heat, they give it to you. Medium is no joke here. Hot is HOT and Thai Hot is like death. Love it. All the meat is good quality and they do nice things like deveining and shelling the shrimp, which just makes life easier for the customer. The service is always good and the location is easy to get to and open until 9pm. The only complaint I have is that the food is a bit on the high side. I tend to not get appetizers here because I can bring myself to pay $10.99 for some shrimp spring rolls. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. the place is a family friendly and the decor kind of throw you off especially the cover chairs but the Thailand pictures are nice.
