I knew them when they were a juice / smoothie bar tucked into the corner of the bigger deli. All of them crammed in there pumping out my jam - like DJ Smoothies! SOOO glad they are thriving! They have their own little nook that's bigger. Nick the owner is a sweetheart and deserves so much appreciation for opening a much needed organic health focused eatery smack in the middle of ye old Roslyn! His staff is just as lovely and accommodating. There was an issue with GrubHub (as usual) and Nick took care that I was made to feel loved. They have a great selection of savory and sweet bowls, smoothies and juices all fresh and organic. It's weird how Nooks & Kindles just sounds kind of warm and cuddly....we're talkin' about two digital book readers, right? Well, in this case we're talkin' about smoothies and acai bowls. I optioned for the latter of the two last week as a way of indulging in a lighter lunch. N&K does well in finding a little nook inside of other establishments, that is you won't find a storefront name on Old Northern Blvd. Instead, venture inside the deli and your acai will be waiting for you. Luckily, my sis had been many times and gave me the heads up before my afternoon adventure. Never had acai? Well if you like fruit and grains and all that jazz then you'll probably enjoy this concoction. Really you can make it any way you like, though here they choose the basics like granola, berries, coconut, banana, honey, and of course the acai. For a tad less cash you can "build your own" which basically removes the berries and offers you a list of options you can add (only two though). I went with this and wanted peanut butter (the truly best thing you can do to an acai bowl) and blueberries. Alas, they were out of blue. So I settled for straw. Either way, the thing was a nice size and held fresh flavor all the way through. You can basically watch them make it right there in front of you. And if acai ain't your thang then the list of smoothies will probably suffice. Overall, Nooks & Kindles is a quality spot for your acai (even if it's a tad higher priced than some other acai offerers). First time here and tried their ramen, which is the most expansive ramen I ever had. The ramen came with noodle and egg that prices at $15, added pork belly, which make it a pricy $17 per bowl. I can tell they put effect in their broth but you can barely taste it because the overpowering garlic oil they put in the broth. The graphic oil were burnt so the entire broth tasted like charcoal. The green pink they used were really really tough, usually only the soft and the upper part of the green onion were used but they used The lower part of the Green onion, which were tough to bite. Ramen were doughy and under cooked. It looks like they are known for other fruity items, which I didn't try, but based on their ramen, this is not a place for me. read more

Nooks is in the deli on the left side, staff are very sweet and the options are pretty good. I've been here a few times and think they're pretty good and convenient considering they don't have any other competition in the heart of the roslyn. My only comment is that the smoothies aren't cold and i was a little taken back and how weird that is. Awesome idea for a business definitely healthy choices in the village of Roslyn,, my girl has been getting me shakes from there for a while, seems like every time I get there there it's very difficult to make an order in person because the workers are busy but the worst part is they're terrible enthusiasm,, Seems like the staff has never been trained how to deal with customer service,, making an order is nerve-racking when the girl behind the counter is rolling her eyes and acting like she's doing you a favor by ringing up your order.. I understand times are hard still in the COVID situation and with everyone going back to college but jeezzz. We paid nearly $60 for two smoothies, a ramen and a poke bowl. The poke bowl is so tiny and I had the smallest amount of tuna and it was nearly $20. The smoothies were good but not too cold or thick. THE WORST PART WAS THE RAMEN! The broth had no flavor. The girls were clearly being trained and that's fine but if they don't know the measurements they shouldn't be cooking alone. The noodles were so undercooked they were still hard. Pork belly isn't included so we paid the extra $2.50 and it doesn't even look cooked and was tasteless as well. My fiancé ended up throwing it out. Do better or take it off the menu. Be aware that this is located inside the deli! I ordered the original acai bowl and added peanut butter and chocolate chips. It was huge and packed with toppings, very filling! It was delicious! This is still my favorite place to grab açaí bowls. I still get their signature N&K bowl because it is still simply, truly the best. Today, I had a sore throat that was progressively turning into a bad cough and I decided to stop by here to see if they offered wellness shots. Upon entering the store, I had a mini-heart attack when I didn't see their little stand within the delicatessen. Little did I know, they had taken over the pizzeria. It's so pleasantly nice to see that they had grown and expanded, especially when they really deserve it. When I realized they didn't have wellness shots, the owner (I believe) was kind enough to create a concoction of ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and orange juice (or something of that sort) for me. The blend was potent, spicy and surprisingly tolerable; it was quite the powerhouse. Perhaps, they should consider adding tonics or immunity boosts/ shots to their menu. In addition to their expansion, their service remains fast and friendly. They are currently under renovations and I'm excited to see what's in store! read more

I have been wanting to try nooks organic for a while, and I finally ordered tonight from Ubereats. We ordered a poke bowl and an 1/2 bowl (half acai half pitaya) the 1/2 bowl was supposed to have ginger and glutamine-based off of taste and sight it didn't appear as though there was ginger in it, which made us question whether the glutamine was added as well. The acai bowl tasted good. The worst part- the poke bowls are $20; I ordered mine with avocado, mango, and cucumber. As pictured, they left a note on my poke bowl that said "sorry, we ran out of avocado, mango, and cucumber" -really? For a $20 bowl, the professional response would have been to call me and let me know that the three main add ons I opted for were out of stock so I could decide a replacement or if I still wanted it all-- not to charge me $20 for an incomplete dish. It also tasted so horrible that I couldn't finish it, and I am not a picky eater. Very disappointed .. If they don't have a premade option that you like, then you can always build your own! They also offer acaí bowls and pitaya bowls - my favorite! Oh, and everything is organic too! I build my own because I am super picky! I get acaí, strawberries, bananas, lots of granola, honey, and a scoop of almond butter. This is a much needed addition to Roslyn Village. Really friendly manager or owner (not sure who the built guy is) and speedy service and high quality. The granola they use is delicious; most places give a lot of granola but they use theirs sparingly. I went there twice during my stay in Roslyn and the second bowl was half açaí half pitaya. It was my first time coming to Nooks Organic today. I wanted to get a poké bowl for my boyfriend and I for lunch. It was his first time having a bowl and my second time. The gentleman at the counter was so sweet and welcoming. He was so patient with explaining and walking us through the poké process. I've been meaning to write a positive review for Nooks Organic for a long time! This is my go-to place when I want to treat myself - love the acai bowl and add their yummy homemade almond butter. Nick, the owner is so knowledgeable and caring. His staff is hard working and friendly... the other day one found me in my car when he realized he forgot my almond butter rather than let me get home and learn. I have tried many juices and smoothies, too! Although I mostly grab and go, on a beautiful day, it has been so nice to sit out and the staff has been kind to deliver it to a table. I've had the poke bowls and smoothies before - they are great. Today, I decided to try the ramen, and ordered it to go. When I brought it back to the office, I unpacked it and found that the ramen noodles were just a glob of doughyiness and remained very doughy after I mixed them with the broth. This is probably one of the best places to have an Açaí bowl with the best almond butter I have had.....the sweetness of the açaí is perfect, the consistency and taste of every single ingredient in the bowl is perfect. Sadly, on the down side recently their portions of açaí got smaller once they changed their bowl. Additionally, some times skimping on the almond butter that is about $2 for a teaspoon. I don't mind paying the extra money but at least give a heaping teaspoon. I must say very disappointing considering this is a pricey açaí bowl that does not give too much in comparison to other organic juice bars in the city that give more and charge less! The ubiquitous Acai bowl is almost as common as a coffee house. There are so many choices! Most a good (I honestly have yet to find a bad one). This place gets my vote as number 1 as they have the most choices, the are organic (the price is the same as almost every other place.). In the past couple of weeks, I've had the Rise & Shine, New American Classic, and the Charger, and they've all been great! I got to chat with the owner briefly while having the N&K traditional bowl, and he told me all about his organic ingredients and the processes that go into crafting the perfect açaí bowl. I have been going there for years and lately it's been a disaster to order a bowl and for them to get the order right. The last time I went to get a bowl I called in advance and was told please hold and they put the phone down for over 10minites. I called back again and was placed on hold for over 20 minutes. No one ever got back on the phone and when I drove over there there were over 20 people waiting For over 20minutes for their order. It is not acceptable to say you will be put on a brief hold and never come back to the phone to take someone's order, especially when you call back twice. Needless to say I did not wait for another 30minutes to place an order in person. There was no apology for being placed on hold and then ignored. If a business is that overwhelmed they should not answer the phone if they cannot take an order. very disappointing how service has changed. read more
